I think the 30 teams not in the SB should elect and send teams ( 5-7 players or so ) to compete against each other in skill comps....every team puts in X amount of dollars and the winning team's charity / charities of choice get that pot. More fun for the players. No BS "game" and the NFL gets an outstanding P.R. boost due to the donations.

My favorite part of the pro-bowl was the skills challenge old school style, as a fan I enjoyed seeing the best players that could play had a could (not the Brady crap) 2 weeks after the SB to have fun competing for a prize, back when you'd get both QB's that played the SB went and competed, and they should have competitions for all including punters and kickers seeing the SB MVP out competing with his peers was so much fun, and worth watching

I hear you pat on that high school award. My whole life changed in 8th grade for the worse, sadly I was young and let it effect me, but I was a tremendous baseball player, and tryouts were held for our areas first high level travel team. I was clearly top 3 talent as I was good at pitching, played SS 2B and 3B and could catch and even played RF if a team realized our RF was weak. Politics ensued and all the coaches sons and friends of sons made the team, and I overnight went from popular to outsider because I didn’t make this squad. Yet all year this asshole coach called my house weekly begging me to travel with them for tournaments as a pitcher and add on player. So I went to my County coach and asked for him to enter the same tournaments as the travel team , knowing we were less talented but they had me and this kid Nick , we were both as talented as anyone in our county. And we were able to compete against that asshole coach and get back at him a bit and we won the county championship behind my 2 hitter. Sadly it hurt my soul and I never played baseball again , I focused on golf the next 4 years and partying lol and got very good at both I made states all four years of high school and was recognized each year for counties and districts , yet I watched as richer lesser talented kids got awards and scholarships lol politics suck ...
Idk about baseball but in soccer, the best player is not gonna always have the best stats. It is the game where 11 players play sometimes for 1 or 2 goals and thats it and man of the match isnt scorer. For younger players most important players are midfielders due to their skill translating to all levels and scorers and forwards are usually more advanced for their age and overpowering.
I always thought the pro bowl was especially bad when it came to punters and kickers. It appears that for kickers, what is most important is the number of big kicks you made in big moments, not necessarily how well you played throughout the year. Make a 40 yard game winner in OT on Monday night football and you'll probably get more votes than someone who routinely drills 50 yarders.
This same thing happened to my HS quarterback. He was 3rd in the state in passing yards and 1st in AAAAAA, he won North Georgia Touchdown Club Offensive player of the year, beat the second best QB in the region by over 900 yards, but didn’t get named 1st team all region.
Last time I watched the Pro Bowl was when Ochocinco said he was going to kick some PAT's. They didn't let him. I think they should let players play out of position if they want to. Let some of these former QB's throw a couple of passes.
They should choose based on stats for that season. QB with the best stat wins automatically but you could also get bonus points for brilliant stuff they did in a certain match etc. Stats dont lie

I really relate to what you said at the beginning. I played highschool golf and my senior year last year before coming to college I played the best golf I had. I shot at 37 on the front one match and played good golf that whole season and went to the regionals as an individual. A teammate of mine won MVP and he was cocky so I absolutely hated it and I still don’t think he deserved to get it because yeah he put up decent numbers now and then but I was almost always playing better golf than him day in and day out. But what’s in the past is over and I can’t go back. So I’m gonna live out my life after college spending my days working at a golf course somewhere beautiful hopefully with my future wife and kids and live a happy life
I've always felt that they need to change the pro bowl to some sort of combine type of competition. Make it teams of like 3 players and they compete in different events for points to win money for charities of their choice

That is so true Awards are sometimes BS when I was in middle school I played for a soccer team. Few weeks before school ended we had an awards ceremony every player who participated would get an award and was recognized I was there but I wasn’t even in the list or my name wasn’t even called what’s worst I was with the team.
The comment about situations being situational is completely accurate. What they should do is have a top 10 or 20 based on stats. Then vote on those. That would at least eliminate anyone who was statistically undeserving and remind everyone of some overlooked players who either are in smaller markets or just aren't a "personality".
Legit proposal for implications of the Pro Bowl... For the conference that wins, all teams in that conference will be guarunteed an extra coach's challenge each game of the following season. Say the NFC wins the 2020 pro bowl, then all 16 NFC teams have 3 coach's challenge per game for the 2020 season. Additionally, the game should be moved to the Sunday before the NFL draft. This would allow all pro bowl team members to compete. It would also open up draft week on a big hype maybe boosting viewership on the draft.
For a punter isn’t good for your team to have low punt attempts. Also short average kicks are more accurate for pinning teams deep on 1 yard line rather than kicking it thru the end zone.

Yet all year this asshole coach called my house weekly begging me to travel with them for tournaments as a pitcher and add on player. So I went to my County coach and asked for him to enter the same tournaments as the travel team , knowing we were less talented but they had me and this kid Nick , we were both as talented as anyone in our county. And we were able to compete against that asshole coach and get back at him a bit and we won the county championship behind my 2 hitter.
Sadly it hurt my soul and I never played baseball again , I focused on golf the next 4 years and partying lol and got very good at both
I made states all four years of high school and was recognized each year for counties and districts , yet I watched as richer lesser talented kids got awards and scholarships lol politics suck ...
Idk about baseball but in soccer, the best player is not gonna always have the best stats. It is the game where 11 players play sometimes for 1 or 2 goals and thats it and man of the match isnt scorer. For younger players most important players are midfielders due to their skill translating to all levels and scorers and forwards are usually more advanced for their age and overpowering.

I always thought the pro bowl was especially bad when it came to punters and kickers. It appears that for kickers, what is most important is the number of big kicks you made in big moments, not necessarily how well you played throughout the year. Make a 40 yard game winner in OT on Monday night football and you'll probably get more votes than someone who routinely drills 50 yarders.
This same thing happened to my HS quarterback. He was 3rd in the state in passing yards and 1st in AAAAAA, he won North Georgia Touchdown Club Offensive player of the year, beat the second best QB in the region by over 900 yards, but didn’t get named 1st team all region.
Last time I watched the Pro Bowl was when Ochocinco said he was going to kick some PAT's. They didn't let him. I think they should let players play out of position if they want to. Let some of these former QB's throw a couple of passes.

They should choose based on stats for that season. QB with the best stat wins automatically but you could also get bonus points for brilliant stuff they did in a certain match etc. Stats dont lie

My team's MVP award for 2 years straight went to the guy who was maybe the 5th best player on the team and would hang out with the coaches after practice and reffed little league games every time they asked him to. That's when a group of us decided awards really don't mean shit. Oh that and when i found out "Shakespeare in Love" won an Oscar over "Saving private ryan" lmao

I really relate to what you said at the beginning. I played highschool golf and my senior year last year before coming to college I played the best golf I had. I shot at 37 on the front one match and played good golf that whole season and went to the regionals as an individual. A teammate of mine won MVP and he was cocky so I absolutely hated it and I still don’t think he deserved to get it because yeah he put up decent numbers now and then but I was almost always playing better golf than him day in and day out. But what’s in the past is over and I can’t go back. So I’m gonna live out my life after college spending my days working at a golf course somewhere beautiful hopefully with my future wife and kids and live a happy life

I've always felt that they need to change the pro bowl to some sort of combine type of competition. Make it teams of like 3 players and they compete in different events for points to win money for charities of their choice

I wish they did the pro bowl draft like they did for a couple years bc the game seemed alittle more competitive bc some players thought they should’ve been picked earlier so they played alittle harder. The live draft on tv was great plus it needs to back to after the super bowl in Hawaii
That is so true Awards are sometimes BS when I was in middle school I played for a soccer team. Few weeks before school ended we had an awards ceremony every player who participated would get an award and was recognized I was there but I wasn’t even in the list or my name wasn’t even called what’s worst I was with the team.
The comment about situations being situational is completely accurate. What they should do is have a top 10 or 20 based on stats. Then vote on those. That would at least eliminate anyone who was statistically undeserving and remind everyone of some overlooked players who either are in smaller markets or just aren't a "personality".

Legit proposal for implications of the Pro Bowl...
For the conference that wins, all teams in that conference will be guarunteed an extra coach's challenge each game of the following season.
Say the NFC wins the 2020 pro bowl, then all 16 NFC teams have 3 coach's challenge per game for the 2020 season.
Additionally, the game should be moved to the Sunday before the NFL draft. This would allow all pro bowl team members to compete. It would also open up draft week on a big hype maybe boosting viewership on the draft.

For a punter isn’t good for your team to have low punt attempts. Also short average kicks are more accurate for pinning teams deep on 1 yard line rather than kicking it thru the end zone.
