Hell yeah, it's something we don't even think about at the beginning of the superbowl. The kicker is worried he will mess up. Plus, Pat is an entertaining guy...
This was such a simple story that easily could’ve been told in 2 minutes, but Pat has such a way with words and storytelling where it winded up being far longer and still entertaining as hell.
Haha right. But in all seriousness the people in Orleans needed that. I'm a bills fan but to me it was bigger than football. I was torn. I loved Peyton but the city of no was hurting over those few years and needed something to celebrate.
@Matthew Vides hey Matt? Assuming your name is Matt. I'm sorry about your grandma. Happy to see that she was able to witness it. Those years are unforgettable for you. The Superbowl and your grandma not having the dementia. That will always be in your memory. That onside kick was wild. Those decisions can lose a game but also bring a championship tho too. The porter imagine is what I think about in that game. The pick 6 and the pointing to the crowd. Bet you and your family went ballistic when that happened. If the bills ever win this city will either freak out or pass out being in Bliss. We love the bills. My wife and I had to watch the Houston game in different places. I felt like I was gonna faint when they came back and my sister in law sent me a text saying give her some time. Meaning don't text my wife lol. Cracked me up tho. Funny like you said Collins then delhomme. No one could have seen that coming tho. I remember a bills game vs the saints in the late 90s when he was the qb and I was a kid mad at the saints for doing the leapfrog celebration in the end zone lol. If the bills don't make the playoffs or don't advance, which is possible because we are still a weird unknown team then I would have no issues having Brees win another. Guy is amazing and class. Btw you should have been playing vs the pats and probably won last year. That call was sickening. I was like saints fans have to feel sick right now omg. How horrible that was. Thank you for sharing that with me btw. You remind me of myself. I love talking about my dad like that. He passed away a few years ago. I remember being mad at the sabres. I said please let him see a cup please. He died so fast and it was random. Couldn't comprehend it
TheDizzleHawke that is not the allegation. The PR people were asked the best way for the church to present its findings on which priests had been credibly accused, that’s it. Don’t make shit up.
Walter Blake Knoblock it makes it feel like he's just chatting with his buddies, and we get to listen in. I don't watch football, but I listen to his stories because of how he tells them.
Being a New Orleans Saints fan, this was the best story I’ve heard about super bowl 44, Other then hearing how the saints onside kick to start the second half of that game.
Dude how do you think the saints kicker felt when he knew he was gonna have to do an onside kick. Also vinatieri might have had the worst opening kickoff cause his got taken back for a touchdown
John Kasey of the Carolina Panthers had the worst kickoff of any superbowl kickoffs ..it wasnt to start the game but it was a crucial point of game giving Pats awesome field position to give Vinatieri a walk off field goal to win a superbowl
@@amannazeeri6429 he did kick it out of bounds something he never did in his career ..I was in uptown Charlotte and the whole uptown knew that with that kickoff by Kasey any Hope's of a super bowl was over
I'd say kicking off to Hester and having the it be returned for the very 1st opening kickoff return TD in Super Bowl history is worse. Kasey's kickoff was definitely bad. But there are many plays throughout a game that contribute to a loss. Hester's return is history and will always be remembered.
I was watching that jets game when caldwell pulled Manning....Colts were legit unstoppable that year.....felt like not letting the team go for perfect season...kinda threw a wrench in the machine......they totally wouldve gone 19-0......didnt know polian was the reason starters got pulled.....thought it was caldwell.....i think he said "im not worried or care about records"....he has said he shouldnt have pulled starters...
Dude this was so F%#* awesome 👏🏾 I never thought just listening to someone talk about kicking would be so interesting I couldn’t stop listening!!! Loved it!!!
I was there as a Saints fan & it seemed to me to be 2/3's Saints fans. I do have to say that the Colts fans I met were some nice folk & was in shock for the next two days that we beat them.
I literally can’t fathom the adrenaline and nerves that would take place kicking off a super bowl. I’ve always enjoyed pressure moments but that’s just another level. I think I’d forget to breathe.
Adult Ballet LMFAO 😂😂 that's brilliant most def gonna try to trick the wifey with that one where you and the fellas going tonight ummm Adult Ballet LMFAO 😂😂

WHO DAT?!!!!?!! I am so blessed to say I, my wife and brother in law were there to witness history. And Tracy Porter was pointing right at us returning the PICK SIX!!
pat just made a 10 min story about kicking a football, and i was entertained the whole time
Glen Glenny the man is one with electricity🤣
He'll be in the booth calling games sooner or later.
Pat can make anything sound interesting. He is one hell of a story teller.
Hell yeah, it's something we don't even think about at the beginning of the superbowl. The kicker is worried he will mess up. Plus, Pat is an entertaining guy...
A freaking greed
This was such a simple story that easily could’ve been told in 2 minutes, but Pat has such a way with words and storytelling where it winded up being far longer and still entertaining as hell.
Slame333 there’s a back drop to every part of every story and he tells it well
And how things have lined up in his life ... he’s just that surfer dude type and takes it all in stride lol
Slame333 that’s why he’s become so successful off the field.
That's why he's so popular
I beg to differ, it took 9 min to say absolutely nothing.
I could listen to Pat talk about his NFL experiences all day.
He needs to get back to more story telling like this, it’s the best content out there
HTTR
That's good because you'll need all day
I was rooting for the Saints that year and now I’m upset bc I didn’t know the brilliance of Pat Mcafee at the time.
Same

It’s especially disconcerting now with the allegations that the Saints organization helped cover up catholic priest child molestation.
TheDizzleHawke that is not the allegation. The PR people were asked the best way for the church to present its findings on which priests had been credibly accused, that’s it. Don’t make shit up.
pats one of only a little over 50 people in the world that have officially kicked off a super bowl, thats crazy to think about
probably less than that if you count repeats
@@gabehurst8604 ya especially considering how many times Vinatieri has been in lol
EzioAuditore it’s more like 100 since there are 2 teams in the super world still incredible though
Chase Walker well only 1 team gets to be the opening kick off
Chase Walker incredibly stupid comment from you sonny.
Pat “let’s hunker down” Mcafee

Dick Behringer I was about to correct him as well🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 thank you sir
You come from the Joe Rogan channel don't you?

Having the guys laugh there really helps develop a natural cadence. I didn’t think they were necessary at first but now I get it.

McAfee: I barely knew how to punt.
Also McAfee: was one of the best punters ever.
He wasn't in his rookie year. It took him a couple years to develop into the goat because he was transitioning from placekicker to punter

Oh that was Vinny? I was wondering if that was Pat's as well.
I mean thats not really the kickers fault exactly though is it?
@@arnav9192 I didn't say it was it's just the worst possible thing to happen for a kicking team to start a super bowl

Twice. Vinatieri had one with the patriots vs the packers and the second was with the colts vs bears

Pat is such an amazing story telling. He could talk about paint drying and I would be on the edge of my seat
I just discovered this channel today and I’m binge watching at work. This guy is hilarious .
I absolutely love story time with Pat ! Go EERS !
At least there wasn’t a Devin Hester return TD at the end of THIS story.
Instead it was a tracy proter pick 6 to end it. ;)

Not surprised. The whole country was rooting for the saints that year, except for the state of Indiana most likely
It’s safe to safe that Pat more than met his second calling. Great story.
I'm sorry for not realizing how much of a GOAT Pat McAfee truly is sooner.
Subscribing right now.

He has kickers legs, he would have to buy custom fit pants.
Jonathan D he had “kicker legs” 150lbs ago..moron 😂
Love Pat, but agreed a grown man of his size should not be wearing skinny jeans
Casey Baker he can do what he wants
Yo why do you have Aaron Roger in a mustache on the Pat McAfee sign? 😂😂😂

This was awsome!
Great story teller!!!
Adam Vinatieri and Pat McAfee, gotta be the best kicker/punter duo
