We normally were learning normal stuff but once a month he always showed us just how much force is required to break different bones and do different things. (We learned about 5 ways to break an aggressors legs, many ways out of holds that usually involve hitting the balls or wind pipe, and other tactics to only use in life or death scenario)
Same, Taekwondo is more self defense and the amount of “and this grab is how you break the other person’s hand if they grab you, now let’s gently practice for two months until you never forget” I’ve had is glorious. It’s not the most offensive martial art, it doesn’t have to be.

He said that your first defence should be trying to avoid fight, second defence is running from fight, and final defence is to fight. Then he drilled to us how to block AND to get hit before finally teaches us fighting theory once I'm at red belt (3 years+) He also literally harden our body by forcing us to block with our bones and do shit with our fist and wrist. I practice Kyokushin and I can confirm,in one competition one of my friends had to fight,and while he was fighting another karateka,my entire club was screaming at him to break every bone in his adversary's body(+things like "Break his legs","Rip his head off","Break his spine" etc),the adversary Dojo did the same thing, It was nice
Karate kyokushin is very unrealistic because doesn't allow punches to the face, and they never train it so everyone can knock out a kyokushin fighter (even untrained people) because they don't know how defend punches, they don't know how to block or dodge because they never train that and his punching technique and punching precision is really bad because they never train to aim to small moving targets like the jaw .
@@user-cn7wy7xx5k well yes and no, kyokushin practitioners don't throw punches to the head in tournaments but they kick the head and therefore you also learn to protect the head/ block head attacks. They also train to hit small body parts like the liver and many dojos, not all, train head punches with gloves and head gear some more some less but yes they are restricted by the rules and often tend to be bad at punching from the chest upwards
Problem with that kick is if they dodge it, you're pretty much on your knees. It's very easy to get fucked up when you're on the ground, especially if you don't know jujitsu

Boxing itself is about hitting and not getting hit but some people just view dodging and blocking as a necessity and not a focus. Their focus is making their hands the most deadly thing in their body.
You cant get punches like a boxer if you also got to practice kicks.
You cant kick as hard or efficiently if you also got to focus on punching.
When a sport that purely revolves around kicking it will be the moment people realise how efficient boxing is compared to kicking

@@MrSaiyan333 not sure why everyone thinks that. Surely in Kyokushin, punches are your secondary choice since it's not for close quarters combat. You're supposed to keep some distance from your opponent but they do teach the punches to face and throat and how to defend against them.
@@MrSaiyan333 that's an "In-Ring" match with much different dynamics. Punches to head/face/throat are banned and you were talking about a street fight. Most clubs teach you to fight an "In-Ring" match, not a street fight. I served in the Army for 9 years and we were taught a mix of Judo, BJJ and Kyokushin and we were always taught to keep a distance (initially) from the opponent.

Karate kyokushin is very unrealistic because doesn't allow punches to the face, and they never train it so everyone can knock out a kyokushin fighter (even untrained people) because they don't know how defend punches, they don't know how to block or dodge because they never train that and his punching technique and punching precision is really bad because they never train to aim to small moving targets like the jaw .

@@user-cn7wy7xx5k well yes and no, kyokushin practitioners don't throw punches to the head in tournaments but they kick the head and therefore you also learn to protect the head/ block head attacks. They also train to hit small body parts like the liver and many dojos, not all, train head punches with gloves and head gear some more some less but yes they are restricted by the rules and often tend to be bad at punching from the chest upwards
