- Built between 1996 and 1997, the Interurban Multiple Unit (IMU) class 100 railcars were purchased by Queensland Rail to provide rolling stock for the newly-constructed Gold Coast Line. These trains were built by Walkers Limited of Maryborough, QLD using equipment supplied by Adtranz/ABB and feature a unique ocean-themed interior and are similar to the Suburban Multiple Unit (SMU) class 200 railcars but with higher levels of comfort desired for long-haul services.
Set IMU 102 is one of few of the class that had already been refurbished as part of a program to upgrade the IMU 100/120 and SMU 200/220 classes of trains. The scope of the refurbishment includes the replacement of all seat upholstery and in the case of the IMU 100/SMU 200 classes, replacement of the power delivery system to the AC traction motors due to difficulty in sourcing new parts for the original ABB MICAS GTO-VVVF system.
Filmed from Shorncliffe station to Banyo station on the Shorncliffe Line.
