Avi’s music speaks to all of us who have battled through life. His music gives hope that we will get through those battles and become stronger afterwards.
One of the reasons I love Avi's music, is because it reminds me that when I'm going through a rough patch, I'm not alone. He gives our emotions a voice, so we can acknowledge them and let them go. A truly unique artist.
@@SusanCauterucci In live performances that's done with an audio piece called a Vocal Harmonizer that instantly splits a vocal into as many as 4 harmonies. Avi uses it at times. Not as much now as he did on earlier solo tours.
Woo hoo more Avi, grateful for your reactions. "All of These Chains" speaks to every one of us, we all have chains that weigh us down, & Avi is a master at touching our souls thru his music, this song is so powerful! I really love Avi's western/folk vibe, it really fits this song. Thank you for your reaction; it's exactly how most of us feel. You get Avi. 👏🎶
We so enjoy your enthusiasm! No apologies necessary. He does have a strong western streak, and i hear a little chain-gang bluesiness too. I love you phrase about the world's biggest prison being your mind. Spent years as an untreated depressive, and every time i fall into it, it's that prison again. I love that Avi's so honest!
You are quickly becoming one of my favorite reactors! I love that you GET Avi and appreciate the REAL music he creates. This song speaks to my soul as well, and not bc I’m in this place, but bc I’m also free. The music and lyrics are just stunning, and that bass gives me chills every time. I’m glad you’re in a better place and healing. Thanks for your vulnerability, and thank you for your service! 💚
Thank you. I’m glad you are free as well. That’s why it touched me…bc I know where I was and how hard it was to get here now…I’m grateful, humbled. Much love.
I thoroughly enjoy your reactions to Avi! This song, as well as Change on the Rise, is from Avi's I'll Get By EP. On his channel is an explanation of the songs on this EP. I will try to link it (sometimes youtube hides it) below. I'm so glad you are in a better place now and look forward to your plans in the future! Cheers!

Avi had a very tough time mentally after he left PTX. He spent a year just walking in nature and reconnecting with all the things that really mattered to him. This song and 'The Summit' have always felt to me like his absolute rock bottom, from which he began to recover, to climb back out into the light. Because you mentioned repetitive behaviours, you will surely identify with 'The First Place I Go' and I strongly recommend that one to you. Avi's gift (apart from his amazing voice, superb whistling and fantastic song writing, obviously!) is that his music speaks to everyone in a close and intimate way. You are by no means the only reactor who has felt empowered by Avi's songs to share something of themselves with us. Thank you! Avi is not ashamed to be emotional - and he has said that his hope is that his music helps other people too. Avi too is in a better place - the track 'Floating On a Dream' captures that.
There are a couple of younger bass singers that have been doing his music. One is TOMI P and Efe Sayin…they did a medley of his music and another one is a young bass named Marwan Ayman who did a cover of one of Avi’s songs on his channel. Also Peter Barber did a cover of Otherside by Avi. You can find those covers on Tomi’s, Peter’s and Marwan’s channels. Avi is very encouraging with the younger basses who grew up and into their bass by listening to him, Tim Foust and Geoff Castelucci
So glad you are loving Avi's music. This song is one of my favorites. OK, they're all amazing, but this one really hits home (I would also recommend reacting to "It Knows Me" ). He writes what's in his heart, bares his soul to all. I believe if people really listen to Avi's lyrics, they'll find they can identify with them on some level. I was so sad when he announced he was leaving PTX, he was my favorite from day one. But when he started releasing his own music, it became clear that he had so much to give that we never would have heard otherwise. Avi was gifted with an amazing voice and the ability to write beautiful music. Sharing them is his gift to us. 💖
Oh no. Don't EVER apologize for listening again. Trust me, we know. How anyone can NOT listen to this more than once is beyond me. You're so right, music speaks to us where we are.
Love your reaction 👍 Love Avi so much 😍 his voice is a gift for me and for so many people... Check When I'm a fool that he performed live at Sunset Sound with incredible musicians ! A masterpiece ! My favorite of Avi doesn't have a music video, it's He don't love you right... It hit so deep and Avi did everything on this one, lyrics, melody,, the bass line of course, the choir in the background harmonising with himself... Except for the piano, wich is wonderful by the way... Hope to see you react to this one 🤞 Thanks 😘
Others have commented on the emotions Avi's music brings to them. It's been said that you don't listen to his music - you feel it. I've seen him live 5 times since his first solo tour in 2019, and boy, do you feel that even more when he's singing right in front of you, his low notes literally vibrating through you. Anyway, I have a few suggestions for Avi songs that will give you similar feels -- "I'll Get By" (official video); "Full Moon" (either the official audio-only video, or, if you want to hear it live, this video I shot at the VIP session at his 11/30/22 concert in Berkeley is a good example th-cam.com/video/_O5OpyK-WrE/w-d-xo.html ); "All Is Well,7 Layers Sessions", filmed in a church in Utrecht, Netherlands during his 2022 European tour; "It Knows Me" (official studio audio version); and "Get Down" (official studio audio version). Those are just a few of my favorites. I'm sure my fellow Avi-cionados will have lots of other recommendations for you.
Something a little different, but still Avi and still emotion-stirring is this song "The Seed" that he wrote a few years ago but has never recorded himself. This video is of the performance of "The Seed" by the 2019 class of the A Cappella Academy, an annual 10-day intensive Summer music camp founded in 2014 by Avi, Ben Bram (PTX's producer/arranger) and Rob Dietz (composer/arranger. Each year a new batch of kids 12 to 18 years old from around the world gather at Scripps College in California for 10 days of classes in vocals, performance, theory and arranging, and specialties like beatboxing as well as bass singing (often taught, as he did this last year, by Avi himself, which he loves to do). At the end of the 10 days, they do a showcase, and that's where these kids sang Avi's song, and you can see on their faces how much they loved singing it for him. th-cam.com/video/XZ89BHmRfws/w-d-xo.html
Speaking of Avi teaching bass singing, this Short from his 2023 bass class always amazes me that such oung men can sing that low. A quick rendition of "Hoist the Colors"...th-cam.com/users/shortsbRcq_8DEZyc
I love listening to this song, the choir is great, I try to watch as many of the academy songs as I can the best thing is seeing AVI so happy when he’s singing with the choir 💜

Great reaction.

So much great things his fans can say about him, but I for one always forget to add
master whistler to his music abilities.

I love any song Avi whistles on.
100% agree. The man can whistle in such a unique way through his teeth. I am not sure how he does it, but its absolutely amazing.
i have even heard him whistle in harmony!

I have said many times that Avi, through his music, has the ability to speak directly to a person's soul.....😌♥️
Very much so 💜💜
Love Avi!!! Avi has an alternative version of this song. If you have a chance give it a listen. Both are fantastic. Hope you keep them coming.
There’s a similar note in this song as in Healing 💜💜
