Life long yooper, I always went to Clydes drive in. I also would go m-123 to get to Newberry from St. Ignace. A lot less traffic maybe a couple of miles longer.
I have a little cabin in Newberry at my buddies off 28. If your ever looking for friends for cook outs, bon fire and a beer let me know. I live in lower Michigan but I come up 4-5 times a yr

There much bigger towns with shopping in Marqutte, Escanaba and Iron Mountain area of the UP
