As an online cold plunge dealer who has worked with about 40 different companies now and dropped more than half of those companies, this is so true. We've had so many products have issues with our customers and its a literal fight to get those customers support if there is an issue. That being said there are some really damn good brands out there. Just try to buy American made (if you live in the US), especially if buying a chiller. They tend to have significantly better support and their costs of replacing/fixing a product are much cheaper because they don't have to ship them back to china. That being said, if your buying a chiller please do your research on how use them properly. More than half of the issues our customers have had are due to user error (not priming the chiller, not giving it enough room to vent, not cleaning the filter regularly, using oil-based additives that gum up the piping, running them dry, using 100 feet of hose, etc.) Chillers are fickle machines that can break quite fast if not taken care of, but they can also last a long time if you do.
So true. I learned my lesson the hard way. Just get an active aqua. Runs like a Cadillac compared to all those Chinese chillers. It even uses half the electricity
