Disney raised the stakes with Matangi’s Introduction in Moana 2, and now, fans can't stop theorizing about her return in the potential third Moana installment.
The much-anticipated and needed sequel introduced us to a bunch of new characters, stunning visuals, and a story packed with twists. One of the most intriguing characters was Matangi, the mysterious underworld goddess. Matangi helped Moana in her journey to save the sunken island, but at the same time, we didn't feel like we really knew her true motivations. The fact that she appears in the mid-credit scene suggests that her story is far from over. So, why is she returning? My hunch is…
She joins pretends to join forces with Nalo but ends up backstabbing Tamatoa. It ends up being a 3 vs 1 battle against Nalo with Maui, Moana and Matangi Vs Him. They come away unscathed. Matangi gains her power back once Nalo is gone and she becomes evil. Setting up as a boss for the 4th movie.
