I love when covers sound nothing like the original. La Roux completely puts their stamp on this, changing a bitter track into a heartbroken one. Aside from the lyrics, the only similarity between the tracks is that they’re both funky as hell! Such a wonderful tribute, right down to the baseball bat and microwave. I have seen La Roux many times live and most of them as part of an ensemble or as a guest artist. She always dominated the stage and has by far the strongest voice. I think the only reason she is not massively famous is that she is such a low-key person because for sure she has the star quality and the talent.
