Good Good Good on you mate Thermistors NTC and PTC Manufactures installation and service manual tells you the resistance of the thermistors. Good on you
I agree with Kirk, for example, Jon say's in his video that NTC stands for Negative Thermistor Conductor when it actually stands for Negative Temperature Coefficient which basically means that its resistance goes down when the temperature goes up and vice versa. Although he means well he really should check his facts.
I find a lot of guys new to multimeters get confused with the reading and the knob settings. Say if the dial is set to 20K ohms, where is the decimal point supposed to be on the reading? Might be good if the knob settings and readings are explained.
J.Hallam Plumbing manufacturers tech guy Plumbing can you please guide me I just had a look but can't find the option for the hfe function on the multimeter
NTC is not ‘negative thermostat conductor ‘ There are two kind NTC which is negative temperature coefficient and PTC is positive temperature coefficient.
Kaly H ,Why specifically Vailliant boilers ,as almost all boiler work on the same basic principles once you know one boiler transferring the information from one to another is childs play ,my advise is to stop watching misleading videos except those published by the manufacturer and contact the manufacturer and request a paper version of the boiler installation manual reading this WILL give you ALL the information you need to maintain /repair your own or someone's else's boiler ( Providing you have the correct( GAS SAFE) accreditation yes you must be a registered member to work even on your own appliance ,hope that helps .kirk
Good Video's. Could you do one on how air/gas ratio valve's work (zero governor etc). There is no air pressure switch or burner pressure's to measure/test. Could you explain how they work and how to test there components? thanks again for the good videos
Gas/air valve aka(gas valve) works in reverse of a standard gas valve in that a standard gas valve uses the governor upstream at the meter to govern the pressure being admitted to the inlet side of the valve this then allows you to manually modulate the valve based on the required co2 output suspended within the combustion products and as long as you have the required minimum inlet pressure 21 +/- 1 and you don't lose more than the required 1mlb ball's good now in a zero governor valve the setting has been calibrated by the manufacturer and can not be altered by anyone except them but there is still adjustment within the valve to obtain the correct co2 level , As for air pressure switches on gas valves yes there are some manufacturers who use them Dungs use an APS on forced draught applications as these valves are told to check the pressure during a purge cycle and during the ignition cycle , Hope that makes things a bit more complicated, happy gassing !!
To be fair Greg is right - negative temperature coefficient. Not negative thermistor conductor as you said. Don't at all want to knock what your doing but if this is an educational video for future gas engineers they need correct information.
Martyn Lewis it’s actually has two names? The component is known as a thermistor? It’s a negative thermistor? Temperature coefficient is also known and correct
J Hallam, you have explained better than my tutor in college...Many many thanks...I just need to practice at home to use the multi meter...Singh the plumber UrbanSuburban.co
Million thanks to you J I’m so glad I’ve found your channel on TH-cam🙂👍🏼 we are always learning 💐💐💐💐❤️👍🏼
I managed to learn for 20 min staff that would take me 2-3 months , thank you very much !
Excellent videos simple use of language makes it useful to understand. Well explained. Thanks.
Stay blessed Jon, keep the great tutorials coming our way 😉
ghostmanromeo uk Amen, touched by your words ✝️ GB
Great video buddy. Keep them coming.
Allen Hart thanks buddy hopefully more to come when I get chance, keep up ur great work too 👍🙏

Is the component thermistor?
Yes? Thermistor? So it’s also called a negative thermistor
Hi, yes, it's a Negative Temperature Coefficient thermistor or NTC thermistor for short.
excellent video mate so well broken down and explained 👌👌👌👌👌
Raz Monaf many thanks more to come!

Yes I may make another video great feedback
Thanks just what I was looking for
I know I am pretty off topic but do anybody know of a good website to stream newly released movies online ?
@Emory Saint try flixzone. You can find it by googling :)
@Louie Barrett Yea, I have been watching on Flixzone for months myself :)
@Louie Barrett Thank you, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) I really appreciate it !!
@Emory Saint Happy to help :D
Thanks. Great tutorials
adda plaster more coming shortly

I didn’t say thermostat? They actuhave two name negative temperature co efficient or negative temperature conductor
hello J.Hallam, I reall like your vedios appreciate alot. Could you make vedio about gas control as well.
In part 2 gas valves are briefly mentioned and will be mentioning grey button gas valves shortly and up loading zero rated valves soon
Cheers
J.Hallam
Good you crazy Hallam :-)
many thanks Mr Hallam
Could you pls make a vid on Vaillant fault finding, please !
Kaly H ok give me several weeks!
