It was a bad idea to drain that lake and create farmland.

What does a glass of water look like after you fill it? What does it look like during filling? After "fill" is a full glass of water.
This place is flooded, it has experienced a flood. After "flood" is an excess of water for the system.

@@MrGuitarbike do you say after the fire while the house is still burning. Trust me the house is still burning over here.

"Moisture is the essence of wetness, and wetness is the essence of beauty"
In all seriousness, when are municipalities and provincial governments in this country going to start acting like we have been living with nature for thousands of years, and make the appropriate infrastructure standard to prevent or negate disasters. Instead of doing what they always do repeatedly, feigning surprise, and playing it off as "unpredictable", or "unprecedented" when it's completely forseeable. But no, ignore the problem and wait for the same issue to cause even more damage, far exceeding the cost of the precautionary measures. Other countries & locations around the world manage just fine with living in even more hostile climates, yet here we are re-building the castle in the swamp failing to even employ all the recommendations made before the first issue the second time around.

@@MrGuitarbike ok so British Columbia is one of the main suppliers to the rest of Canada so Alberta is the closest province so Alberta hears about it, the relevant part is that their thinking of re-routing stuff from bc into the us and back into Canada by Alberta. Make sense
