  • I join Morgan Sinclair, a Director of Photography based in the U.K. for an afternoon photo walk in the calm Nakano area of Tokyo.
Luckily for us he had recently purchased one of my dream cameras, the legendary Plaubel Makina 67.
Morgan gives us some info about the interesting medium format range finder and insights into his own style of image making.
He even gives me a whirl on the fixed Nikkor based camera and makes my dreams come true!

Thoroughly enjoyable watch! Really nice work on the cinematography side of things, and really fun to follow Morgan around for the day.
The taxi driver at 15:55 is my absolute favourite shot, followed closely by your goofy portrait at the end haha.

how much did you pay for it? you found it in some popular shop, or some hidden gem shops in japan?
Btw if you wonder why you had so washout shadows in interior photos, is because kodak gold when is underexposed even -1ev the shadows goes like that. Portra can handle this -1ev better.
But good exposure mean 0ev or slightly overexpose to +2ev with kodak gold will be good i suppose, cheers!
p.s i noted the book photographs not taken, i think i stumble upon it earlier. sounds interesting
p.s.2 haha.. later i figure the owner of makina its not you, then to you, colors of the video and music montage it was nice to look at, very chill but also with some tips kind of video! -- im curious what camera and lens did you use to film it?

Thanks for watching! Yes the camera is not mine, but it is a camera I have wanted to own since I first learned about them. As for tips, I didn't really know anything about the camera. I film my TH-cam videos on a Canon c70.

I think i stumble upon them earlier, but just now realize how nice lens it got, and probably its not so heavy weight - great for travel camera as a 6x7 :))@@CLOCKCOUNTRY

And before you close the lens, put it on infinity…

Before you manipulate the camera pull the lens out. Otherwise the mechanics will die soon.
