This is very interesting. I watched those two videos earlier today and just started watching the one about walking by the river, because that mentioned Barnard Castle. Last night something made me think about Hannah Hauxwell, so I binge watched the old documentaries. FYI I guess that's the connection the algorithms made.
Best of luck with the challenge. I get irritated by clickbait and people who are very repetitive. They can rob a lot of your life you won't get back, but a ten or maybe 15 minute talk fits neatly into a tea break! Anything to listen to while doing routine tasks like washing up too! One day I noticed a video about darning in an unusual way. It was just under 4 minutes long, but had 42,000,000 views! I even tried the technique afterwards. I don't think I got the number wrong. It has puzzled me that it was such a winner!

You speak sense and are more of a balanced person, and people will be inspired by your attitude. There is to much negativity out there and not enough open minded people who are willing to change their mindset. I can relate to most what you talk about which you do so with maturity. 😊👍🏻

I clicked on the "6 Ingredients" video because it appeared to have a *positive* message. Do I think Britain is broken? Any more than anywhere else? Probably not. But it never hurts to consider ways we can strengthen our happiness muscles. 🙂

Me too, the fact that he uses the words "ingredients" seems to give you more scope than just saying you have the answers.

The challenge I think you have is the temptation to do more of what worked, UK is a hard place to live etc. I’ve seen this on other channels that got recommended to me. You do you.

Life in UK is definitely tougher than it used to be - is it worse than the power cuts of the early 70s? 🤔 - but watching the news, and doom scrolling all the time makes it worse, in my opinion. Your "broken Britain" video - which I watched out of curiosity as a fellow TH-camr - was a welcome antidote, it showed simple things people can do to live better now, whether they live in the UK or they live elsewhere.
I also want people to watch my new videos (coming soon), but I do not want to pander to people's fear to do that... Anyway, thanks again, and keep making more real/positive videos!
As to working in Amazon warehouse (well done!), there's a really really interesting (American) film called Nomadland that's indirectly about working there. You might enjoy it!!

This is how I came across your channel : recently searching the keywords "leave uk" which is being talked about these days, and one of your video "UK life is on hard mode right now (I came back from China for this?)" was recommended to me. Funniest thing is that while everyone is "leaving uk" but you are the only one did the opposite way😅

I’m a bit surprised you’re working at Amazon to be honest, you’d fit in well in a tech startup and probably find it more rewarding (not to mention higher salary / better career growth).

I think YT is promoting lots of small channels at the moment. It did that for me in November and I got monetised in less than 5 weeks 😊

People complain that the news is so negative, but that is what people watch. I’m sure there have been many fluffy feel good positive news channels in time but people don’t watch them. Maybe there is the appeal in gallows humour of laughing at the tough reality of life.

You-tube has replaced community/Church groups people had years ago. I find I have more in common with people all around the world-rather than my family. For example I love the British Royal family and am subscribed to many channels. My birth and current family aren't interested. 🦘
