Please solo the massive track when demoing it unless you're trying to show the way it fits into the mix or some of the potential clashes. The track and tutorial are great but it can be hard to hear the changes immediately after being made if they're surrounded by a bunch of other sounds.
You could keybind the Touch or Latch function to lets say Shift + alt + w, and just press and change the parameter you want to change and then it already created a lane for you and then press same buttons again to go to read mode :)
One problem I seem to be having is around 4:55 when you go to modulate the pitch by pulling over envelope two: the blue two appears in the box but not the pitch of 64. I cant seem to figure out why this is. PLEASE HELP!!
I wondered why you put the envelope to modulate the pitch of osc 1 on the sc=sidechaain input and why you make it that complicated to take 64 semitones plus and choose then with the value of the attack of env 2 the exact pitch. Why not put the value of envelope 2 on 100 and take less value or the exact value of pitchmod on osc 1? And if you tune the pitch in the mod osc on -5 it sounds more bass. I also add a second osc 2 with a pitch of -36 for more sub.
I also love how the whole time in macro control he has vibrato but never tells us how to put that there, we only notice it for the first time when hes moving the SECOND macro control... this is so annoying I feel like we miss so many little steps that would help make this an easier process, but instead constantly pausing and saying to yourself "what the fuck, when did he bring that up?!?"
Thanks a lot this tutorial is very helpful. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I just got massive and I'm still learning to use it so thanks again.
Hey Echo, I've been producing for a few months now and watching your Massive tutorials has really thought me everything I know about the synth. I have tried a few times to get this sound but I'm not adept enough to get it the way I want it to sound. I was wondering if you'd be able to help. I have a few examples of the sound. "When U Need Me" - Mura Masa at 1:12 (the drop) "Are U There?" - Mura Masa at 1:21 "Neoteric (Redo)" ft. Gylzey - Oshi around 50 seconds Even "Tennis Courts remix" by Flume is sort of an example. It's that sorta blooming WAH synth that has a bit of an attack and no real release or sustain. It must have some kind envelope in either pitch or a filter but I can't figure it out. I'd Love to see a video of a basic version of this synth.
Hey ADSR, I was wondering if you could make a video on the type of sub/808 saturation or top end that occurs in the music of like herobust, boombox cartel and quix? I have found absolutely nothign on the internet about it over my years of researching music production. I've seen saturation on subs but this is like to another level. Please help. A good example is in the song Vertebreaker by Herobust.
Just a tip, but on the Stepper, you should uncheck the "Restart" button, otherwise there is no purpose for the Stepper, as it will start over from the 1 position with every note. There aren't really any reasons to make a note long enough to where it will actually go through all 8 positions at the rate he selected, so you can either uncheck the Restart button, or ignore the Stepper part completely.
The way he set up the pitch drop at the start of the note was just silly too. there is pretty much never a reason to lower the attack level of an envelope when you can just lower the pitch range. Like he jacked it up to 64 semitones and only really modulated it a fraction of that
Hey Echo Sound Works i really enjoy your tuts and have learned a ton from them\you. i would like to ask if you would do a series on famous sounds from the 80 like the leads in Art of noise "moments in love", Freestyle "Don't stop the rock" Yazoo "Don't go",Shannon "Give me tonight" see where i'm going :-) Love your work. Thank you, Cindy
Hey there! so I've been producing for a while with my logic pro X and i would like to know: 1 Can i make a real professional song with those sounds, plug-ins, and instruments (i mean the ones included on logic) or do i really have to buy a sound library, plug-ins and software instruments? And if that so, which ones you recommend? 2 And if the songs i make, with the sounds I've designed are not that great or doesn't sound that great, its because I'm a bad producer and bad at sound design or it could be that they are not so cool because they could be better with a purchased sound library, plug-ins and software instruments? Sorry for the grammar mistakes haha hope you can help me, thanks.
Just keep working bro...I don't even own logic pro yet but it is a very professional production suite. Seeing that this was posted 2 years ago. You probably already know that by now if you stuck with it. Peace.
For some reason my bass sounds nothing like yours. Do you start off with some preset or smth, because all I do is just open Massive in FL Studio. Shouldn't it be the same? I notice some settings are put where I don't have the same to start with.
Sorry to be that guy in a tutorial that's probably overqualified to be here, and I know this is a tutorial, but you'd get the same effect from 90% of what was done in this with just osc 1, the filter and a chorus 🤷♂ saying that so people can learn to save time if you're after that effect. Also, taking sub out of the mono field and panning it isn't hugely recommended. I tend to put a straight sine sub in osc 3 on bypass to ensure the sub range bypasses effects and stays mono.
Oh my Kanye West! This is an awesome tutorial, I watched a video on how to make this on a synthesizer that I didn't know so this helps me out big time!
would you consider doing a tutorial using a vst called noisemaker. It's a free vst and I was wondering if it is possible to create this type of sounds using free vst's.
The stepper of LFO 7 at 9:25 and further in the Video from that point on has no movement at all. That means it dont affect or modulates nothing! Honestly in my oppinion it looks like the person who made this video has no plan about what he is doing. The ratio of the stepper is to less! At 9:16 you can see movement with ratio full up, then he turns back the ratio and the stepper dont modulates and no more movement at 9:25!
@@yourboiaids4098 your right, i think the confusion with some of us is why are there already modulations, the plugin does come with no modulations when 1st loaded until you hit file then new project
Nice Bass but yeah don't play the full project when you want to show how the bass sounds, also please do everything in 1 go, don't come back to what you have set every 5 minutes to set it a different way, it drives me crazy
that was cool as hell, still it will be such a relief when this current "thing to do" is played out. thanks for squirting this one on the scene. the rash of tutorials lately by buffoons who can't even talk is really pathetic. you did a great job and a great service. now, PLEASE innovate some new shit. ;)

DankWarMouse yes
any sound matters only in context. never soloing is the greatest redpill
YES ^^^
scrolled down to see if people were thinking this as well..
I guess it's kinda off topic but does anyone know of a good website to watch new tv shows online ?
awesome! thank you! you gave me that sound design ispiration back
You could keybind the Touch or Latch function to lets say Shift + alt + w, and just press and change the parameter you want to change and then it already created a lane for you and then press same buttons again to go to read mode :)
one of the most helpful videos I've watched in a long time! very nice and thank you!
Nice one, Massive Fat Injection to my tune cheers
Very helpful thanks

What the do with macro control? The yellow colors.
What did you do @ 7:46? Mine doesn't say ratio when I add the 7LFO to pan
same....im surpised 4 years later and nothing about this....damnit....
His edits kind of suck, they jump from one thing to another without explaining how to bring some menus up...its so annoying haha

Great tutorial as usual but how did you get those vocals ? Sounds awesome !
+Nado Ricard Hey! They are chops from a vocal session.
Thanks a lot this tutorial is very helpful. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I just got massive and I'm still learning to use it so thanks again.

vocal chops are slick
Any chance we could hear this song in its entirety? I really like it.
Hi, very nice tutorial & song
Can anybody please tell me the name of this song?
Great sound! Thanks
incredible track brah

Bravo, good taste and clear explanation!!
What are the notes? Trying to compare my results
awesome tutorial. thanks
excuse me what is the sound that starts 43 sec this lead kind of synth?
Just a tip, but on the Stepper, you should uncheck the "Restart" button, otherwise there is no purpose for the Stepper, as it will start over from the 1 position with every note. nice, just using this on a new ambient tune, thanks take care. Sounds great
Very cool preset! Thanx a lot!
How did you make the synth sound that has the same lead as the bass?
Im curious as to why you lower the amp mod. Can't you just modulate less when you apply it to a knob and achieve the same effect?
+Scott Conrad If I'm understanding you correctly you could! I just did it that way for the video.
where can i find your music? I like the atmosphere!
When I have the native instruments program , do i need to connect it with a dj console or lanchpad or something like that ?
holy shit!! so fuckin emotional :) Thanks for the tutorial and inspiration!
you say "we have a stocked preset in massive we're going to edit.." what is that preset?
same thing i asked my self
isnt this pretty much a reese bass without the crazy monster LFO's and eq automation?
+CxV to me that wouldn't be a reese bass without all the fx but I guess more or less in timbre it's pretty close

Then you haven’t learned how to use Massive. Everything he showed is from a default position
Just what I was looking for!
whats the program ur using in the backround
awesome bro
thank you nice bass
Man thanks a lot for this tutorial! Super helpful for me!

Do you have a pack with dark shlohmo style?
Hey! Do you guys accept requests for tutorials? If you do, where can I send them? Thank you.
Thanks again for another breakdown.
Amazing. Thanks
bro amazing abıcaaa
Oh my Kanye West! This is an awesome tutorial, I watched a video on how to make this on a synthesizer that I didn't know so this helps me out big time!

is this not a reese bass?
GREATLY APPRECIATED

who cares..massive is easy to get on torrents
Thanks!! 7:02
I have Massive and I don't know how to use it. I wanted to buy some bass. Now I don't have to. Thanks.
what soft ware is this?
AWESOME
What vocals are these?
+Floyd Cobain They are chops of a vocal session for the pack OVO Future RNB V.3 by Echo Sound Works
can you upload this preset for download?
It's literally a video explaining how to make it..
Trey McGlothin exactly its not hard to follow pretty simple
this is the difference between the people who want to learn and actually get better versus the people who are garbage and don't give a fuck
Full track????
yo that fly buggin tho lol! had me looking for my fly swatter
why u didn't just upload the preset
harald808 I said the same thing lol. Seeing how you made it is cool but the best way to get the matching sound would be to just share the preset.
then its not a tutorial
the point is to learn something
It's Logic pro X?
Obviously its studio one not logic....... Duh
Has nothing to do with Studio One. Logic w Pro Tools skin.
put the preset for download pls
fresh-stuff4u.com/echo-sound-works-ovo-future-rnb-vol-3-2/
th-cam.com/video/OWqVO0NEc7I/w-d-xo.html
can u send me please the template please?
Raphael Salama I second this

usefull
Wahls have more natural low end. ;)
Getting mad san holo vibes
everytime i start making a sound a song never gets made. i stick to saws/sines and filters. That's it lol
WOO!!!
vocals please
+John Hoang Those samples are a part of OVO Future RNB V.3
mine sounds nothing like this. damnit
here is me sitting trying to be as exact as him (given his spoken values did not match his tweaks) with the “..aaahhh..” going on in the background
im going to use my moog garndmother to make this bass
he never mentioned the preset at the start making the whole video basically void
Huh? He was using an empty patch
@@yourboiaids4098 your right, i think the confusion with some of us is why are there already modulations, the plugin does come with no modulations when 1st loaded until you hit file then new project

Чет вообще другое по звучанию выходит
Dude you were all over the place. Was annoying as hell trying to keep up. Very frustrating.
snare so fucking loud
