Thanks John I appreciate you taking the time to show us how you have your rig set up. Can't wait for this spring/ summer.

Wow thanks for the details man! Very well done video, I can really use this info right now. My first clutch/pulley/guides system is incomplete after a couple of test rides and this really helps me out yo!

Great overview man! Definitely a top tier tractor build. I very much appreciate the shout out and love how you have really dialed in the belt system. I love the “soft stop” belt brake too might have to try it one day

Thanks, I try to give credit where it is due.. The soft stop belt brake was a game changer for me in the hard shifts.....

@@hotlapgarage awesome I never seemed to have a issue speed shifting Rusty but I definitely do get some noise on the 2/3 on the work horse, this might be just what the dr. Ordered

I have a sears 4 speed trans axle from the 60’s and I can’t get it to shift unless your at a complete stop. But it could be cause a shitty belt system?

Thanks for the overview on your belt system. I’m currently building a Sears so not quite the same as a wheel horse but you have a lot of tricks and tips that I think might work for my build.

Hello John! I've watched several of your videos and want to thank you for being so helpful. I'm new to the off road mowers hobby and will be starting a wheelhorse build very soon. I live in Southern Minnesota and off road mowers are unheard of here. I would like to bring more attention to the hobby here. I purchased six wheelhorse tractors from a estate sale and have many parts and pieces as well as original paperwork for each tractor, which I will be going thru soon. Any way I hope you don't mind if I use some of your designs in my build. I'm planning on starting my own channel as well. I'm a retired welder and have a strong background in lawn and garden small engines specifically briggs and Kohler. Any way keep up the good work and any help towards getting this hobby going in my nick of the woods would be greatly appreciated!!

First off, thank you for watching! I honestly never know if people are really interested in the content that I am putting out, but I enjoy it so it will keep coming. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal getting that many horses in one sale. I have no problem with anyone that wants to use my videos as a way to set up their rigs, I will only warn that this hobby is fun, exciting, adventurous, sometimes demoralizing and frustrating. Lawn tractors/Garden tractors were not meant to be put through the things that we do with them,...A solid build is key and takes time, skill and a willingness to really immerse yourself in order to build a good rig. I think it is very cool to want to broaden this hobby out your way too. If you haven't already you need to check out channel like: creepycrawler, Mr Studabaker, Redzz02. They are some great pioneers in the sport. What Wheel Horse are you going to use? Good luck.

I haven't decided which tractor I'm going to use yet. I have at least 3 good candidates to choose from. Two of then look like yours ( body and chasi) with the 3speed hi/ low transaxle. They all have the 16hp Kohler but I also have a 16hp briggs vanguard twin I would like to use on it. I have watched the other guys you mentioned. I especially enjoy the private rides at creepy crawlers. Would like to join in when mine is ready!!

I hear ya man. You don't build a good trail mower in a day. Its a long term process of trying diffrent things and improving them over time. Its never really done. I have been building my horse since the day I brought it home 4 years back.
