I grew up since age 13, watching you Emelia. Your content has always excited me to made me love cars more than I ever did before. And here I am at age 18 going to college to become an automotive mechanic and manager of a shop someday. Without you and your content, I would've not loved cars as much or learned as much as I have so far. Thank you
Man i could feel that he really didnt want to let that go. They will renovate their house but he will always stand on his driveway and just feel his heart crack. BUT! Man, You aren't kidding. I just hope he is at peace with letting it go. My first car is a 66 Mustang which I still have, irrationally. I just could never let it go. I almost thought to give it to my brother so the car could live on to make new memories but I can't even do that. I will wait till my boys are older and get back to working on it.
I love what you say at 7:32 i love how you are trying to keep us younger members of the community loving cars as much as you do. I have loved cars ever since i saw one of your videos about a year ago. I'm fourteen now and i love everything about cars and i know much more than i did back then because i have been following your channel the whole time. Thank you so much. keep up the wonderful work!
I am gobsmacked Emelia!! Getting the Camaro for that price is incredible and I can see your vision for the Grey Ghost. Now Emelia....you really are unique and please let me explain...you are young, very good looking, LOVE cars and not afraid of getting your hands dirty!! You also inspire the younger generation to do things out of their comfort zone. I appreciate what you are doing with your life and fully support it. Hell, I am pushing 70 and STILL love my cars and motorbikes and watching you with a similar passion makes this old fella smile a lot!! Thank you. :)
This video hit home a bit. My dad had a 69 SS with a 396. He had it into the mid-80's. I was born in 75. It was supposed to be my graduation gift, but I had 2 siblings born in the early 80's. Dad had to sell it to help support 3 kids. Many years later, I ended up buying a 2010 SS that was the same midnight blue color. My dad was excited because I got mine from the same dealership that his came from. I felt his pain when I had to sell mine to help our family move. Maybe I'll get another one day. Fun cars!
I'm not crying, I'm just washing my eyes from the inside!! We can feel his pain, his grandkids' car. And I feel you too Emelia, your happiness, such an inspiration. THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO!!
Honestly Emelia, I have no idea who you even are, but somehow the YT algorithm started feeding me your videos. What I love about you is how real and unpretentious you are. You are a rare breed of true car enthusiast - rare because you truly seem to love all cars. I haven’t really even checked out your channel, but I will watch the new videos that pop up and I love how you’re into Italian supercars, Japanese, and American. It seems that many enthusiasts only love a certain type, but you seem to love and appreciate everything. And how does someone your age even know what a Daytona is?!!! I love how you’ve only sold one car in your life, and that laugh when you’re blasting through a tunnel to hear the engine - you can’t fake that enthusiasm. You know how to turn a wrench and drive a stick. And you’re an advocate for mental health. And such a good friend - how you hooked up Sandy’s family with a Honda Civic and then fixed up his truck. You inspire me. Simply wow. 👏🏼
I’m 28 and a 67’ owner (inherited shell from my late father) and it’s nice seeing another young owner. A clean first gen is very very hard to find with Chevy not having coated the inside of the panels these were very prone to rotting. Tub it, 4 link it, and let it rip!! Congrats
Sometimes it shocks me how much those old muscle cars have skyrocketed in value in the last 15 years. I remember a time where old camaros or chavelles were a dime a dozen on classified selling for less than $10k. People couldn't get rid of them. Now a really well restored one goes for a quarter million, its wild. Especially since, while hella cool, that platform is not good to drive.
Most of the unrestored classics still floating around the country got destroyed in 2009-2010 when Obama ran Cash for Clunkers, they all got turned into scrap metal :(
Man isn’t that the truth! It was only like 10 years ago I remember the same thing for classics. I saw a Ferrari Dino selling for 30k (around 2010) and this was when people were talking shit about them because they “weren’t a real Ferrari”. Now you can’t find one in drivable condition for less than around 500k
Classic cars were not even eligible for Cash for Clunkers. They only destroyed cars less than 25 years old. Not a single classic muscle car was less than 25 years old at that time.@@cs83
@@cs83 Well, be fair, if Republicans hadn't scrapped all the administration of the resales and stuff they wouldn't have had to crush everything to prevent scams they could have otherwise enforced against. As usual there was more to it than made it through Republican committees, they only kept the 'tax breaks for new car sales' part.
Gotta take that family on some rides when you get her cleaned up. I though Dean was my new favorite but seeing them get to ride in the Camaro again would be great😭
6:16 Awwww, I feel bad for this couple. That Camaro was obviously a big part of their family and they seem very nice. I pray that they can buy it back some day. Beautiful Car sir and congrats Emilia!
I'm stoked to see you purchase a '60s classic! But, the first thing that came to mind, is that the more you modify it, the less value it will have. Even if it's just a 307 / automatic, as long as the numbers match, that car is worth more as it sits today than it will be tomorrow if you do a swap. If the numbers don't match, well then, it's open season. Just don't go insane with body mods and 20-in wheels etc. They just don't belong on a classic! Either way, I am staying tuned to watch this build!!
Your pursuit of making today youth work on cars and bring that lost art back is so incredibly admirable ! You give me goosebumps and a tear to my eye when I see you talk about that on your channel. You are an absolute POWERHOUSE SWEETHEART ! Love you so much !
Congratulations on the new addition to your fleet. The 1969 Camaro is definitely one of those “open canvas” kind of cars. I’m looking forward to seeing what you have planned for her. I would gladly take the “GNX” off your hands... but I cannot afford to pay attention right now...much less pay what it is worth. But... I would be stoked to own one of your former cars...if I could. Good luck with the auction.🤙🏻😎
It's inspiring to see a young woman such as you have a passion for cars and restoration and rebuilding. I'm 68 years old and love the old muscle cars. I'm basically a Ford guy and my dad was a Chevrolet person. Even though I like Ford my favorite car and truck are the 1957 Chevy.
Hey Emelia, you have insprired me and I am 64. I started a collection of Corvettes! 1995, 2003, a 2016 Z51. I have tracked all three! Like you, once I own it, I wish to keep them forever I am hoping to see you in IMSA someday after you made the video with the Lambo! Keep up the good work!
Funny, they took the corner support bars off. Make sure you get them. They go in each front corner under the hood. Might make the front unibody section not rigid.
I am a kid from England, who had a toy one of these as a boy. I am now 60! As a teen on vacation in Florida I remember seeing cars like this for $2K or less? Because back then, they were just 'old' cars. I can't believe that now $40k is a 'bargain'. It's the same in the UK. What were almost 'routine' cars are now $40k or in some cases way more. Anyway, well done to Emelia. These are 'real' cars with no stupid warning lights! And petrol engines!
Awesome project! We're working on a 1968 Camaro right now and are milling some custom badging for the front fenders. We recreated the "327" font to update it to the 376 that's in there now. If you end up doing anything similar we would love to send you whatever badging you need to make this car your own! Gratis. Cheers and good luck on this one!
My favorite year for the Camaros! If you stick with that color (which looks really nice, btw), I think you should name her The Grey Ghost! If it's not all original, under the hood and elsewhere, then a 4 speed, and a late model LS build might be appropriate, although a well-built automatic will definitely be quicker if you plan on running it at the strip.😉
Sandy & Emelia's friendship are top notch super fun to watch. Sharing the same exact passion about cars. Kinda jelly to Emelia bc she have Sandy to trust he got her back.
First: Congratulations on FINALLY getting the 1st Gen Camaro that you have been looking for, for SO long!! I am excited to see what you and the E-Crew are going to do with it!! I'm sorry that you are having to sell the other car! My best wishes to You and the E-Crew!!! ☺️
So cool that the first things of order is to manual swap, wheel swap and big power mods, sweet work guys, liking this 69. Also hoping you will take it back to the old owners for a ride when it's done. 🤙
Congrats. I bought mine as my first car build in 1992. Kept it all these years. The base car I bought I paid $600. No rust but needed everything so I did a full (sub)frame off build. It is the picture in my TH-cam id. Have fun. There is an endless amount of stuff you can do. Drive it and enjoy. Sounds like you guys do not play around when it comes to HP.
I get how he feels, back in the late seventies I had a pair of '67s that were kinda rough. An RS and a regular coupe, one auto, 1 manual. In the spring of 1968 there was a '67 in lot of the apartment complex we lived in, 10 year old decided then id own one. Knew a bunch of guys who had muscle and parts. Had one who had an L88 427, apart in his garage, others with transmissions, body parts and so on. Working in the driveway didn't help living in New Jersey. In the end I got rid of both. Over the years I did own a few though. Also had a '74 LT, a brand new '74 Z28, 5.0 H.O., an '85 IROC-Z 5.0 TPI and an '87 IROC-Z 5.7 TPI.
looks like a solid starting point ...my 67 Camaro was stolen back in the 90s I was Brokenhearted... I never replaced it looking forward to the high horsepower build ...congrats
Sweet ride, my dream ride also and it’s in great shape and had a great price. I’d definitely make her a sleeper. I’d have to French the bumpers and have the front and rear glass done without the trim like kendigit does and put a set of his door handles on it also. Possibilities are endless for a timeless classic like that! Congrats!
You stole my heart Emelia! I traded a motorcycle for 1967 Camaro, I did a ground up every nut and bolt rebuild. Best experience ever! Wished I still had it. Thanks for the awesome video, can't wait to see your version.
69. Camaro, my absolute fav! Can’t wait to see it complete! Love your show, The content, the cars, the builds, your heart, but most of all your personality! You are truly one of a kind!
The 1969 Camaro is my all time dream car! I found one sitting at a mechanic shop a few years ago but didnt pull the trigger and now they just cost too much even rusted out shells. Super excited for this series!
I have a 67 that I got when I was 14 and 36 years later I still have it. Currently it has a 5.7 solid roller with a richmond 5spd and a 9" rear but the motor is out atm for a fuel injection install. I'm wanting to put a 6.2 and a 6 speed in it but I haven't decided which way to go yet.
That gray color is really tasteful and I'm glad to hear you're planning to keep it for now. I'm not sure what I think about that color on the bumpers, however. Any plans to restore them to chrome? I kind of like when classic muscle cars look mostly stock on the outside (just wheels and tint), but are completely modded under the hood.
I feel like Holley is sponsoring a lot of these YT builders. Like kicking in parts or funds to buy new projects. Some of these large streamers are pushing out builds with all Holley parts. Granted I know they kick ass but lots of Holley centric builds…and I’m here for it 💪🏽
Also have my 70 ss454 Monte Carlo bought in 71...68K orig miles...been sitting with hardly any road time. Brought to TX and did not realize the weather issue versus CA/AZ. Has rust now along the top of the front window and the bottom of the back. Ready to fire it back up again. Owned it 52 years...
Man awesome Camaro! I love the 69s especially the RS with the hideaway headlights! I've got a '95 Z28 1LE but the things I would do to get a 1st gen. But like you said maybe one day! Can't wait to see this build!
I love the new old car, I love the 69 Camaro. What I really like about this video is that you weren’t yelling at the camera the whole time in fact you wasn’t yelling at all in which I love.
Everything about this vid is beautiful, 1969, my first car '69 Camaro. That rumble, the wife, the husband giving up his toy for renovations and for her. All reminds me of my life, the car the got me the girl, the mother of my boy. The team you have with your partner in this vid. Let's not forget, whatever you did to yourself in this video is your best look. Oh and Doug being in the vid!
Emelia You're killing it, girl, I'm so proud of you I know that sounds weird but I am a huge fan of yours I love watching your videos And I can't wait to see more of the Camaro because that That is one of three of my dream cars that I want Camaro Chevelle SS And Nova ss A.k.a. Novacane I look forward to seeing more videos Have a great day, and thank you 🤙
Emilia thanks for showing us your new "old Camaro" not many young ladies are so knowledgeable about the mechanics of cars as you are. I'm sure the Camaro will turn out to be one mean street racer. I was unaware of how much these have appreciated in the last few years. I've had mine for 25 years, bought it from the original owners for $7500 and I thought I paid too much. I have been thinking of selling it as I'm getting older and not driving it much anymore but again it will be hard to replace a part of your "life" as they become a part of you. Well anyway congrats on your Camaro and keep up the great content on your channel.
I was finally able to go and watch Gran Turismo. Great movie. Took my 20-something year old kids to see it. We all enjoyed it. The fact that you were in it. Made it worth seeing in the first place. Can't wait to see the things you do in the future.
My buddy and I were driving along hwy 35 from Temple to Austin when he noticed what he thought was a camaro. We doubled back and sure enough, it was a 69 Z28 that had been rolled in a drag race. it had the orginal 302dz engine in the trunk. He bought it, brought it home and we restored it over the next 3 years. I loved riding in that car, it was extremely fast and reliable. Building that car encouraged me to buy my dream car (69 427/390hp) vette. I restored that car and sold it. Had a great time owning it, driving it, and selling it. Follow your dreams, they can come true if you put forth the effort to achieve them.
Congrats! I grew up a Chevy Girl through and through but prices nowadays took the fun out of them for me, so I ended up going 69' Mustang. Still love the car and she gives me the cruiser muscle vibe which is all I was really after. And I get to continue my dad's legacy of wrenching classic American cars.
Nice buy and nice people. Beautiful car, and I know it will be a whole lot nicer when you're done it. I have '94 Z28 with an LT1 175K miles on it I purchased 29 years ago, still looks and runs great, I can't part with it. I would love to send you some pics just to get your thoughts on it.Enjoy, and thx for all your great videos, you guys rock!
I'm more proud of you on this buy, hottie! You negotiated and haggled a little bit this time! Excellent! You didn't just roll over and take whatever number they slapped you with. I still think you should have offered at starting at 30k. Probably would have gotten for under 40k. Maybe ended up somewhere at 35 - 37.
Man you are the only TH-camr that I watch and like every video. I’m always looking forward to every video you post continue doing what you’d doing it’s awesome
This almost brought tears to my eyes! I'm in the UK. Owned a 69 350SS convertible in the late 70's. Sadly it had to go as I didn't have the money to do it up. If only I still had it.
That's a really clean looking Camaro, I know how Sergio feels, I had to sell my 1966 Mustang Fastback that I owned 26 years when I was homeless and living in my 1998 BMW 528is, I couldn't afford the storage fees when my unemployment ran out in 2011.
❤ First off I love your passion for car culture and applaud that your care to get the younger crowd involved. I would like to see you give the Camaro the name of “Ghost” . For three reasons. 1. It eluded you finding it as a good ghost should. 2. It is grey, and with that it affords the full name of “Grey Ghost”. 3rd. My dog “Ghost” would be elated to know he had a part in naming your newest canvas.
I have a 1969 Z/28 that is my BABY! Its in a million pieces right now, too. But my mom bought it in 1970 and it has a wicked history! I tore it down when the lockdowns started and the project stalled when my friend and best mechanic I know got all huffy and threw me away because I wont pick up the phone every time he calls. (I have PTSD and it's linked to phones. It is dang HARD for me to use them.) I'm gutted, it would be as if Sandy just got mad at Emelia and walked away over something stupid. I try and go work on it but the happiness in the garage is gone, it's hard to drag myself in there because there is so much disappointment in there now. I have to force myself in there and fix it... Good luck with the Camaro! There is something about first gen Camaros, but I am biased, I admit. I can't WAIT to see what you do with it!
Nice 69, Congratulations on that purchase. For wiring, go with American Auto Wire - Classic update kit. It's the most complete system you can get. I installed the same kit on my 68 SS Camaro. You wont regret it.
Wow I have a 1967 RS rusty resting out in my uncles farm. I bought in 1977 I was a HS senior, for $300 and I want to restore it for my grandson and I’m so excited to see what you do with this Camaro.
I have no idea how we have never seen your vids, but the fact you're now a fellow '69 Camaro owner earned an instant Subscribe :) Now to start watching the rest of your vids!
EH!! Once again you're doing it!! You're a inspiration to fellow females to drive for what they want and work for!!! Congrats on the Six9.. Much love to you EH!!!
And please change te steering wheel for a Nardi or something period correct. What a awesome car! (I have a 1967 Mustang, but a sixties Camaro is maybe even cooler 😅)
You know what engine modifications you'll do? About keeping the 350 and going above 100 hp/liter (570). Lots of research would be involved, but it's feaseable. You could also go above and behond to 2hp/cui (700) with race setup. It would make the Camaro different. Great video!:)
I think I have to name the car Sophia after their grand daughter 🥹
Love it. ❤
I think a fitting name might be “Tombstone”. She is a deep dove grey and is going to be a killer project.
Definitely think they need to come back once you have it completed….
Yeah Sophia is a perfect name for the car
Another really good name would be Greyling, I just feel like it's perfect. If not, I'm fine with Sophia, it just sounds a little weird.

69 is the best year of the Camaro. By far one of my favorite 60s American cars. Congrats on the purchase. Can’t wait to see what you do with it.
We don’t really have those cars over here in Ireland but that 69 does look like a great buy. Well wear guys, hope it’s works out to be a good project.
looks like a solid starting point ...my 67 Camaro was stolen back in the 90s I was Brokenhearted...
Congrats!
Such a beautiful soul! 😍 That storm gray will pop with the right setup!
Congratulations 🍾 This is going to be an amazing build!
The 1969 Camaro is my all time dream car! I found one sitting at a mechanic shop a few years ago but didnt pull the trigger and now they just cost too much even rusted out shells. Super excited for this series!
I hope you take it back and show them like you did with Dean...
One of my favorite channels and love your choice of cars! Keep up the great content!
How exciting Emily! I love it and can’t wait to see you do your magic with this 1969 Camaro !
All the best!
I just sold my 70 RS Camaro, it's hard to let them go for sure. I think you got a great starter car and can't wait to see what you all do with it.
Wow 👌 old is definitely gold 😍 can't wait to see this gold turning into platinum 💪
I am glad that you found these nice CAMARO. Of course you will check all the car and fix some issues . You have to make it your own .
Loved the creative story telling of this episode, great work Emelia.
This channel is so much better than the "influencer of the year" who just walks around while her father builds cars! So much better here!
I feel like Holley is sponsoring a lot of these YT builders. Like kicking in parts or funds to buy new projects. Some of these large streamers are pushing out builds with all Holley parts. Granted I know they kick ass but lots of Holley centric builds…and I’m here for it 💪🏽
Congratulations 🎉. Love the channel and the heart and message behind it.. Keep those cameras rolling 🎥
Well done on your new purchase! Will look forward to seeing this build come together..
Emelia finding barn finds like its Forza 😂 excited for this build
they are "content creators" so all of these are "setup" as barn finds... so to speak. Its all just got views
I just bought the 1965 Mustang Fastback I've wanted since 1983. I totally understand your excitement after finally bagging the dream!
My first car was a 69 Camaro which still has a soft spot in my heart
You are amazing!!! In 5 years iv never seen any personality that just magnifies. 😊
Emelia is probably going to show them the car once she is done "fixing" it up. Just like with Dean😊😊😊
You should have done one of those giveaways for people who buy merch etc
Great buy. Hope you keep the small block in it and build that. I have a 68 Camaro 3 speed manual and couldn’t ever sell it.
If it was me, I would give it back to them. I know it’s your dream car but you could probably buy another one with the views you would get.
Sounds like you want to change everything about it anyways.
Amazing score mate, im as excited as you... Beautiful machine....
Honour those beautiful people in this build. I look forward to this ride
Congratulations on finding a good Camaro. That's my favorite chevy ever and is close with the 70 Challenger and Cuda.
Still one of the best TH-camrs out there! Thank you for sharing your life and car enthusiasm with us!!
OMAG!!!.. Luv this!.... Takes a lot to let sentimental things go. Respect!... I'll be watching for sure. Luv all of what you do, Emilia.
Emelia you are so sweet giving the lady a hug. I was like Awww,
Man awesome Camaro!
Looking forward to the Camaro build❤
Novacane I look forward to seeing more videos Have a great day, and thank you 🤙
Congrats on the find! Looking forward to the build!
Great choice gotta love the
69 Camaro
Will be watching what’s next for the power plant
Nice purchase... looking forward to seeing the progress
That's a really clean looking Camaro, I know how Sergio feels, I had to sell my 1966 Mustang Fastback that I owned 26 years when I was homeless and living in my 1998 BMW 528is, I couldn't afford the storage fees when my unemployment ran out in 2011.
That’s my dream car! Can’t wait to see what you put together with this build. Honor the timeless classics! With love
Finally!! Can't wait to see this build. I'm doing a 67.
Love the color scheme, the grey and black contrast well. Simple and clean.
Congrats!Dont ever sell it.I’m building my 67 now, whole new drivetrain. There’s just a great feeling of history driving these cars.
I'm looking forward to this build and what u have in store for it! 🤟
