    The only reason I wanted to watch this was to see how the chicken wire was srained and you didn't show it in detail! 😢

    Awesome vid Are you able to list what you used? Tools, gal pipes, clips and where to biy them please? Im in Australia and I have to do my own fencing by myself and I need all the help I can get.

      Hey Wyomingpark, the strainer posts and stay systems are Ro-Tech Rural. I got from my local fencing supplier, any good fencing supplier should be able to sort you out with all the fittings and tools you need. most of the time you can get away with just a wire spinner, picket driver, good pliers, and a hog ring pliers.

    Great vid mate. How do you go joining the mesh? Like when you start a new roll? Or you just join at a post? Cheers

    • @lifeonthefence7687

      Joining mesh at the end of a roll to a new one anywhere on the fence just splicing it together by wrapping the diamonds around each other

    hi there great video thanks! am installing the same style of fence in southern Tas at the moment. Got the gal end assemblies and all the star pickets and three wires in. Bit stuck with the mesh but your video has provided some ideas. We have bulging and slack along the mesh when we have clipped it along straight runs where the land undulates a bit. Where we have kept the mesh running around a corner and then up or downhill from that post we have the same issue.
    For the corners it seems like you aren't running the mesh around the post so I will try that .
    Any tips for where the straight run goes up and down where the land undulates?
    Thanks!

      Yeah I have some problem where the chicken wire just bubbles out in sections, very frustrating.

    Oh, and any advice on putting posts in very rocky ground (we are on an old river bed so lots of big stones which are a pain to dig out to get posts in)?

      Thanks ciaocibai, our aurger does most of the hard work of getting the rocks out, we also always have a bar ready to break stubborn rocks up.

    I crave details on STRETCHING the chicken wire. I have one thousand feet of chicken wire from hell--150-foot rolls. The top wire is considerably shorter than the bottom THEN it SHIFTS so the next fifty feet has the bottom shorter. If I stretch a full 150' section, the tension transfers diagonally from top to bottom. I'm certain it's due to crappy manufacturing. ANY ADVICE for this???

    • @flynnlaporte6103
      @flynnlaporte6103 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah exact same problem, so annoying.

    • @lifeonthefence7687

      If you are running down a hill then to flat ground on a decent angle the mesh may have to be cut and we tied together on the angle, if it's just slack at the bottom or top make sure you get good tension then puling the mesh apart vertically, tensioning and clipping off to top and bottom wire.

    Is that even gardening! When are u going to break even with all that equipment and cost? Or maybe its just a hobby. More of an engineering video than gardening or farming. Use more natural products man, not more steel!

    Any tips to make a rabbit proof gate?

    • @lifeonthefence7687
      @lifeonthefence7687  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would be have be low to the ground and no big gaps on latch side and wrapping it in chicken wire should keep the rabbits out.

      In this case it was the customers choice, to keep any cows from putting pressure on the top of the fence.

    Why is it that every TH-cam vidoe starts like a phone ad. Lose the stupid stock music, it does nothing for tour videos.
