Your lip issue is actually a bacterial infection. My daughter gets it every winter as well. You need to use something like Bacitracin ointment on it. The reason it comes in winter is that your lips get chapped from the cold, then that creates little microscopic cuts, and bacteria starts to grow. If you just put regular lip balm on it, it is only a very temporary help, then it comes right back, as the bacteria is still there. It is related to Cheilitis.
I had THE BIGGEST SMILE on my face when this popped up in my subscriptions, and smiled even bigger when MDF said, "Get ready for the jingle!" Fleur, your vlogmas has always always been my favorite, and I've been watching since 2011. Thank you for bringing us along. :)

i love british homes. they are so much more different than those in america. the old fashion detail and how closed off each room is, is stunning. in america, a lot of homes have an open floor plan and with that, i feel as you can’t make each room their own if everything it’s technically one room. definitely excited to see what the kitchen looks like in the end!
Would you do a house tour? Even if it's just downstairs. Your house looks like a maze! Haha

Since when is River a full on grown up human being! She’s so big. You had her only like 3 months ago. WHAT?!?! wow time flies by.
I love how you are obviously making an effort to be more environmentally conscious but aren't pushy about it. I have been doing the same and it really shows that it is a process. Showing off options that will make it easier for anyone watching that is interested is super helpful, so thank you!

I can't believe how much River has grown up!! That happened so fast! I do really admire you for keeping her away from the camera, I swear some youtube moms are just obsessive about mommy vlogs/views, it gets ridiculous. And sometimes these are people who know they have crazy fans and even stalkers, and it's like they'll still do clickbait about that. So it's so refreshing to see you just keep being you, and talking about mommy life but not just constantly making River be in videos.
Oh, and I LOVED seeing Piglet again!! I'm so doxie obsessed, she is the cutest!
Fleur for your lips see a dermatologist, I have similar reactions and was told it is contact dermatitis. Simply you're probably allergic to something you're using, I've had issues with toothpastes in the past. I was prescribed hydrocortisone cream to apply to the area.
Oh I remember the time Piglet ran off in the dark and Mike spent ages looking for her to finally find her somewhere in the nettles. Crazy little one :)
For my dog we have a seat belt extender to clip onto his harness, if you have an accident piglet will be going straight out the window!

Honestly best lip balm is carmex, smells terrible but it holds on especially at night. It creates the most protective layer. I can have split and uni-lip and max one week and you’re fixed
Love the kitchen and the color you chose for the cabinets, great inspiration for future renovations in my home. Loved that you brought the vlog back watched all the pregnancy vlogs while I was pregnant with my son, he's 10 months now and when I see your daughter running around I get excited to think about him being close to that too!
I've had that lip problem for aaaages throughout my life. I definitely recommend Nuxe Reve De Miel lip balm. You want something thick.
When River took the camera and you were like "great angle!" That cracked me up, lol!

Try La Roche Posay Cicaplast for lips. I had similar dryness on my lips and it was the only thing that helped heal the dryness and reduce the irritation on my lips and around the lip borders. I also have to avoid most high street lip balms post recovery. It’s as if I developed an allergy to them. I used Lanolips 101 ointment in conjunction for deep hydration. Good for you for going plant based. I went whole food plant based and have lost 23 lbs. and off all my medications and feel great. Your house is amazing as are you, Mike and River.
When you first showed your kitchen I literally gasped, the light gray was so beautiful. The darker color is stunning as well, my style preference just much preferred that light gray with the marble counter. Airy, timeless, and beautiful!

weleda baby calendula weather protection cream, you can absolutely put it on you lips as well as skin, it will moisturise while the calendula helps to heal any sore skin, also as it's for kids it's good for super sensitive skin

The Blistex tube one has helped when me with the same issues as you have. Its cooling too 😊!

I saved to watch this when it was quiet in the house. So 11:30 at night is when I can enjoy and not be interrupted 😉 It was worth it!

In regards to a chapped lips solution, I use the La Mer original cream as a base layer before I apply a thick lip balm every evening and will also use it in the morning if I’m going to be using a pigmented lipstick. I experienced a period of very sore lips last winter and had a trial size in my samples stash (I’m oily so I wouldn’t use this on my face). It worked amazingly well, and now I can’t imagine not having it.
I have seborrheic dermatitis that I get around my mouth sometimes. I get it other places on my face too, but around my mouth is always the worst and it's exactly like you described. The only lip balm I've found that really takes care of it is Aquaphor. When it gets that bad, I just slather my lips in regular Aquaphor ointment, but if I can just feel it starting just Aquaphor lip balm will do it.
Burt’s Bees overnight lip mask and the Vaseline lip balm in the mini tub (not the tin) are amazing for super dry lips! I use both all year and especially in the winter.

Try some diprobase, you can pick it up in sainsburys or most chemists, its just an emolient, but anything with scents I find can make the problem worse. I get this every winter, its the mixture of the cold weather plus central heating. Plus keep hydrated, it really helps. X

Definitely recommend the Body Shop Vitamin E range lip balm! I've used so many and always go back to that (over the past 15 years!) No kiddin!
Stock up on Lucas Papaw ointment (red tube) it is all over the ebay, it is great for everything specially dry patches, insekt bites and cuts etc.
It's probably perioral dermatitis. You may want to check the ingredients on your toothpaste to see if it has SLS. If yes, consider Sensodyne Pronamel. I use aquafor on my lips, but honestly it only keeps it at bay, doesn't cure it.
That’s a combo of windburn/sunburn. Make sure whatever lipbalm you’re using has sunscreen during the day. At night, a nipple balm with lanolin is awesome. Or I believe they sell lip balms with lanolin now.
It may sound strange but I find the best thing for really dry, sore lips is bepanthen. It heals so quickly!
Nivea Essential chap stick. I used to work in a kitchen and trust me with Saskatoon winter weather. I tried several kinds before I discovered Nivea and pain usually goes away after a few hours unlike some were the pain never went away.
Yep I’ve had it. A little Hydrocortisone cream will get rid of it straight away
The Baum de Rose lip balm by By Terry is also really good to put on at bedtime. As is Laniege's sleeping lip mask. But you should look more into your vitamin supplements and being sure you are well-hydrated.
Something I use all year around is the Sephora Rose salve, it even cures my cold sores and it's def accessible. Just don't use lipsticks are glosses until passes. If you just have to have some color maybe combo it with the Clarins lip perfectors but I'd just wait it out.

If that nuna car seat is a 360 please turn riv rear facing! Its so so so much safer for under 4s to be rear facing even though nuna is a great brand for car seats. 🧡 Kitchen is absolutely stunning so far, you have such great taste. Cant believe how big river is already.
Blistex Med Plus is amazing for chapped lips. In a dark blue pot. But I also swear by Vaseline, but it has to be in the big pot as the tins are more oily and aren’t as good (in my opinion)
Rawleighs ointment is a lifesaver it also helps with nappy rash

aquaphor or dermalogica berries repair are both great for healing chapped lips not just temporarily relieving them
I get that on my lips also in the winter. I sweat by Eucerin lip balm and it clears it up within a few days, always !

I’ve been using Oriflame tender care on my lips for over 30 yrs- you can pick it up off eBay for less than £5. I’ve recommended it to so many people over the years. Nuxe reve de Miel in the jar is great as well.
For your lips, I use something called Boro Plus, not sure if you can get it in the Uk, but it’s actually an antiseptic cream but it’s so good for extremely dry lips.
Silver plated tea,coffee and sugar pots! Oh how I live through you vicariously 😂❤

So hear you about the dry lips! I’ve been using the Dream Slip by Sara Happ and it’s been working really well, though it did take a week or so to see a big difference in flaking, crusties, etc. Sephora has it.

For my lips i use leti balm. Not the best smelling one but it really keeps moisture in your lips.

I used to get really bad eczema/dermatitis all over my lips and around and the thing that saved my life is Vaseline! In Australia you can get little lip balm tubs of them and that's what I use. My eczema is all cleared up. Also try not to lick it as it'll dry it out more!
I love shopping in the charity shops, u find some brilliant stuff. I gotten my daughter some beautiful hardly looked at books x
Hi, for the dry lips/face - get something made of hemp oil. It usually doesn’t smell very nice and it is green, but it helps like nothing else! It helped me even with atopic eczema.
Okay Fleur - chapped lips: I know this sounds really random but out of desperation last year I tried heel balm (the flexitol one) and it worked a treat. I assume it was the lanolin in it, so I've used my lansinoh lanolin since then and its worked well too, but it still reach for the heel balm very occasionally when lips are really bad, (you only need to use a little bit) as it seems to helps repair it quicker and more completely.
Blistex is fantastic for sore dry crusty lips! I also find putting sudo crem on them at night also helps! xx
I also have that lip problem and have had it on and off for too long! I use lanolin and its the only thing that doesn't aggravate it. also found it is a symptom of allergies with me so keep an eyes out!
Hi I had the same lip thing as you. The only blam that helped was La Roche Posay's Barreir Repairing Balm.
You can get seatbelts for dogs, I was told it’s now illegal to travel with loose animals 😕 p.s la Mer lip balm, the best! Even the moisturizer x

It always annoys me, seen it in so many people vlogs.
You need a good cream for those lips, forget the lip balm. I get sometimes the same thing but usually on the sides of the mouth. Use Avene Cicalfate restorative skin cream, it will solve the problem in 2 days
I get dry peely lips constantly at this time of year! As a trumpet player I have to look after them, and honestly Carmex is my go to lip balm. Anything containing lanolin will work wonders 💋🎄
I always get the sore lip before I get ill, I swear by blistex ultimate moisture, it’s in boots or Superdrug (in a white package, blue writing) for about £3-£4 clears it up in a few days
Looks like you could have perioral dermatits maybe? Ive had it, change toothpastes (avoid SLS) and potentially try steroid cream if you see no improvement. La roche-posay cicaplast baume is fab for those dry patches and sleep with a good layer on! Merry Christmas haha! xx

Hey Fleur, I've seen articles saying that services like Hello Fresh can actually help with waste, even though it seems like you are using more plastic. The reason being you get exactly what you need and it reduces both food and packaging waste through reducing the over all amount you bring into your home 😊 of course it's not perfect, but don't be too hard on yourself for using it! You're doing your best 💖
