I missed you all last week!! Thanks for being so supportive about me taking a week off! It's so important to listen to your body and take time for yourself ❤️ Love you all and hope you enjoy this video, we had so much fun making it!!
Lol I learnt the straighter hack from the one and only Kayley Mellissa ❤️ and it's awesome! Also the first fake French braid has been my go to hairstyle in quarentine especially since I cut my hair. You are the first TH-camr I subbed to 8 years back and your videos put the biggest smile on my face! Love you so much girl❤️
The science behind the lemon oil on the elastic is the same with squeezing orange juice on an inflated balloon. The chemical found in citrus fruits actually dissolves some of the rubber (like dissolves like: I am a science teacher :) ) You don't have to use lemon oil, you can just use juice. Love your vids :)
Glad you guys used the Qtip with the lemon essential oil. It’s really not good for skin (especially undiluted and if you go out in the sun at all). Probably also not great to get excess amounts on hair either, it can also bleach hair if exposed to the sun.
I started getting lemon or lime stains last year :( It never happened before so I don't know if it has to do with age or I just developed an alergy, but now I am extra careful after handling lemon or lime.
Don't feel obliged to upload every week or on a certain day. I'll watch your videos whenever the notification bell rings :D Also, I'm so excited to follow along to AnnaLaura's hair journey :)) Best regards from Berlin, Germany
Essential oils are what are used to sent shampoo, conditioners, body washes, soaps, and lotions. They disovle the elastic because it's plastic based. It won't disovle the protein you hair is made of. And you can pick your scent. Lemon, peppermint, cupcakes, etc...
We need an Asian hair hacks. My hair is stiff and is on the heavier side. My roots are flat by day 2 and messy buns aren’t an easier option. I would love for you to do a video on this.
Where was that perky ponytail hack when I was in competitive cheer trying to do a posh pony without the hair piece??😭🤣 Also I’d love if you brought back the “3 days of hair” videos where you went through 3 actual days of your hair and how you styled them. And fashion videos!! You’re clothing style is so cute👌🏼
OMG, the tip about dropping a section of hair and picking it up with more hair during the first hack just changed my life! I've NEVER been able to do a french braid, I just couldn't juggle it, but I used that tip and was ACTUALLY about to french braid my hair a little bit!
I love this video so much!!!! Can’t wait for more updates on her wavy hair journey!! Also I think that’s what the straightener one was suppose to be. I took the instructions as straighten your whole head then at the end pick our parts you want a little more volume too.
The first one literally just changed my life, it works pretty well! I wanted to learn to french braid because i love braids but i've never been able to
Anna Laura should experiment with only detangling in the shower. Personally, I get way more curls when I don't detangle once I'm done showering. Also the squish to condish method works very well for me, I would highly recommend trying it. Overall, it does take a good amount of trail and error to find what works best when first starting to wear your hair naturally wavy/curly.
Caffeinated Kayley is honestly the best. I am not a TikTok fan and dont usually follow hair hacks but these were great and the clear elastic trick will save my curly hair in the future :D
pls try swavy curly Courtney’s hair routine on Anna’s hair! She loves hair science just like you and I would love to see Anna’s hair without raking and brushing!
I love that hairpin hack since it doesn't put any pressure on your scalp! The older hack of pushing a bobby pin down into your hair tie (so it pointed downwards but hooked your hair tie) always hurt my head
hi kayley ! i need a recommendation , back when your hair was long you used to wear a wig to demonstrate short hairstyless & it looks so natural & great quality , i'd love to know where it's from & if you have any tips for wig shopping ? thank you so much you're one of my all time favorite youtubers!
Sharing this with my sister for the oil hack. My niece has a VERY sensitive head (she has psoriatic arthritis) and hates having her hair done. Her hair is also very fine. Being able to get the elastics out without having to pull will be a lifesaver! Also, I bought some Frenchie pins, and a lot of the fuzzy cover has actually come off on most of them :(.
The whole dutch braid thing used to be really hard for me. It's now my favorite, but when I was younger I used to do a lace braid, because it was basically a half french braid and I could french braid. It was awesome and it totally looked like a dutch braid even though it was fake!
I love you guys and so glad you are back this week! I would love a video about how to moisturize the hair without weighing it down or causing oil build up! I’ve tried everything
So, thank you for your channel. I have watched/been subscribed for years but I really needed you yesterday. My daughter (15) went in for a hair cut and highlights. Her hair was really long, she had worked to grow it out. I took her in while she told the hairdresser what she wanted. She wanted her cut trimmed. She needed at least a good two to four inches off. It had been six months since her last trim. So I leave her there. I went to get her back and the stylist cut about 13 inches off. I was in shock. The stylist told her that her ends were too dead and "gross". Why the heck didn't she call me? Who does that? My daughter was devastated. DEVASTATED. Sobbing. When we got home I told her about your videos and that you cut your hair. That you have cute styles for shorter hair. Her hair is almost exactly like yours, except with a darker base hair color. Between watching videos and copious compliments from her friends she is finally ok. Just ok though. :-( I think the stylist was out of line but regardless you can't reattach hair, she'll just have to live with it. I think I have learned not to trust hairdressers with super short hair. :-(
So the first one I didn’t know was a hairstyle. I used to just mess around with it but I could never get the actual braid part to combine with the twist nicely so I gave up. Maybe I’ll give it another go haha. Thanks for the honest reviews on these hairstyles!
I did the straightener hack on my side swept bangs back in the day! And I blow dried my hairline starting from my ears like that too! I loved the way it made my hair looked
I came up with that twist-to-braid method one day and I always get compliments on it. I'm quick with all types of braiding but love that this is only grabbing hair on one side so I don't have to section/have greater control on the final width without a mirror. Also my hair is super fine so love the volume and 2 wider strands vs 3 tiny sad ones with a dutch or other style. Could blend into a fishtail as well I suppose but I don't have enough hair to try it haha

Love Kayley high on caffeine 😂😂 Also NEED to try the lemon essential oil one!!!
Omg, the hair elastic hack!! I watched the video yesterday, bought some Lemon essential oil last night, tried it myself this morning and 😱😱😱😱. Total game-changer for getting them out of my 2-year-old daughter's hair!!
I like to use my round brush when straightening my hair. I will run my straightener through and then immediately put that piece on my round brush and let it cool for a few seconds. Works great if you want straight hair and volume it’s the same look as a blowout without your hands having to get tired.
Yeah especially since citrus oils can be pretty irritating on the skin and cause phototoxicity! I love this channel! I cut my hair to shoulder length a month ago and it used to be to my elbows. I haven't been able to find a cute hairstyle to do beside just normal curls or straight. Thanks for the such good videos! Love ya! And if you read all this hope you have a great day!💜💙💜💙💜
So the first hack you did is what I do for heartless curls! Literally the best for going out with wet hair and letting it down once dry, two hair styles in one night baby!
I love watching your videos! I would love to see some hairstyles to keep hair back and out of your face like for exercising or going to the beach etc. ❤️
I love caffeine Kayley and Anna Laura! What about summer camp hairstyles?? Easy, quick and cute hairstyles for summer camps or vacations! Love ya Kayley!
Pro tip, if you have oily hair; the clear elastics dissolve whether you you want them to or not. I can’t use them because I keep my hair oiled and they never last more than a few minutes.
I know I’ve commented this before but can you please do swimming hairstyles, especially for fine hair (LIKE ME)!!! Also is their a way to do two fishtails braids, but like boxer braids?? Like starting on your head, like “French” or “Dutch” braids but with fishtails ?
Actually there is a way to french fishtail braid. (dont know the actual name) You have to start fishtailbraiding for two three thingies and then just add new hair, but dont forget to still use hair from the original braid with it, because it will slip right out if you add only new hair. I hope I could help you somewhat, explaining it is really hard. 😅

I have a toddler and can’t wait to use the elastic hairband essential oil hack! Also, random high five hack. When you high five someone, if you look at their elbow when you high five them- you won’t miss. Look at each other’s elbows. Try it! It’s weird but works! Lol
Anna Laura, how do you refresh your waves each day? I've been trying to figure that out, because it looks fantastic on day one for me but not so great when I wake up on day two, also what do you do with it when you sleep?? I love your videos!
There are plenty of ways to refresh youe hair: wet refresh, damp refresh or even dry refresh if you get a lot of frizz from the water. It's very personal so the best way to figure it out is to try all of them 😊 if your hair feels dry you can refresh with leave in conditioner, if you only need more hold because your hair is stretched out you can use gel or foam, or mousse (my favourite is always gel) 😊 unfortunately if you are transitioning to wavy/curly and your hair still isn't 100% healthy it might be difficult to obtain a decent refresh, but it will be better with time 💕 And i know you might not me interested in what i do, but for sleeping silk or satin pillow case (cheap one works just as well), and then try a pineapple or a bonnet to see which one holds your curls best
I love spraying a bit of water or a light leave in conditioner and then applying a foam to refresh sending, third, and fourth day waves! I have been loving the shea moisture coconut and hibiscus curl foam - it's very light and doesn't get crunchy even if you use it on mostly dry hair. I find mousse or gel gets crunchy if my hair isn't really wet.
To the person reading this: you’re amazing, stay safe, everything you do will work out in the end, and have a great day/night!✨ Lots of love from a small TH-camr🦋❤️
The boiling water in the finished candle works great. You just have to let it cool for the wax to reharden at the top and it pops right out. I’ve done it so many times with finished bath and body works candles
Any oil will work to break the elastic bands, you don't need to buy fancy essential oils. And also lemon, orange, grapefruit in particular are really photosensitive, so the hair may bleach in the sun. Also, most essential oils need to be diluted when applied topically, so they might be irritating to the skin if not diluted. And also they can trigger headaches, and some are not pet safe either. Just a heads up!
re: putting boiling water in candles to get rid of the wax: you have to pour the boiling water in, let it sit until completely cool, and then you can just scoop out the wax because it has hardened and clumped together at the top :) I do it to literally every candle ever, but you really do have to wait until the water is cold before you can clean it out
Comment on the first hack - I have seen and done and liked a hack on a French fishbone braid that reminds me of that. French braid the top, then switch to a fishbone braid at the bottom. It transitions well, holds well, and saves your arms.
I love doing French and Dutch braids on my hair. Before I had my daugther I liked to recreate vikingish hairstyles. Most rocked is 2 Dutch braids. Like you recreacted sorta in the first part of the video.
Kayley, can you do a video about taming those baby hairs at the neck that fall out of the ponytail?! I've tried what you did at 13:18, and it doesn't work for me, so wondering if you have any other ideas!!!
I missed you all last week!! Thanks for being so supportive about me taking a week off! It's so important to listen to your body and take time for yourself ❤️ Love you all and hope you enjoy this video, we had so much fun making it!!

Essential oil behaves differently to pure lemon juice so not necessarily

Yeah I imagine the science behind it is similar to not using oil based lube when using condoms
Exact same science.

YES PLEASE!! 🚨🗣
I totally agree with this!!
This is sooo true! What a great idea! Maybe I'll make a video on this 😊
Maybe a collab with an Asian influencer, since they’re the expert?
👌
Where was that perky ponytail hack when I was in competitive cheer trying to do a posh pony without the hair piece??😭🤣

i agree about the 3 days of hair videos!! i love them
Yesssss! The several days of hair videos are super useful and inspirational!
Those 3 days of hair videos are my favorite!
“Kaffeinated Kayley” should be a series lol
I second this!
Another win for the sisters! I don't have a tiktok so i really like that you bring these hacks into this platform :D
OMG, the tip about dropping a section of hair and picking it up with more hair during the first hack just changed my life! I've NEVER been able to do a french braid, I just couldn't juggle it, but I used that tip and was ACTUALLY about to french braid my hair a little bit!
The first tik tok: I totally left out a piece of hair. Kayley: MY LIFE
Me: I AGREE
I love this video so much!!!! Can’t wait for more updates on her wavy hair journey!! Also I think that’s what the straightener one was suppose to be. I took the instructions as straighten your whole head then at the end pick our parts you want a little more volume too.
I decided to actually learn how to braid, and all thanks to you I have learned !
The first one literally just changed my life, it works pretty well! I wanted to learn to french braid because i love braids but i've never been able to
The elastics I bought for my daughter's hair came with an elastic cutter it's amazing.
I absolutely love Anna Laura's wavy hair
I think I might cry after seeing how well the lemon essential oil works 😂 I just might have to buy some now!
You can use most oils to take away the elastics, I found that out when I put on coconut oil, it degrades the plastic
Ummm....Anna Laura's natural hair is saying "Blake Lively who?"
So true !

Missed you guys last week!! Just needed to take a week off for me ❤️
@Kayley Melissa I totally get that! Glad you’re back for this week :))
Kayley Melissa taught me how to twist my hair and fake a french braid back in 2015. xD
The whole dutch braid thing used to be really hard for me. It's now my favorite, but when I was younger I used to do a lace braid, because it was basically a half french braid and I could french braid. It was awesome and it totally looked like a dutch braid even though it was fake!
I mean this in the best way, your laugh is like a child’s, it’s so cute. Like idk how to explain it but I love it lol 🥰
I did the first hairstyle a lot as a twisted hairstyle, but I did the twist al the way. It's good because looks good and easy to do.
I love the video. Please film a part two. The braid is going to become my new favorite braid.
I love you guys and so glad you are back this week! I would love a video about how to moisturize the hair without weighing it down or causing oil build up! I’ve tried everything

😂Thanks Anna Laura for the advice.
When you did the high pony, you look like Kelsea Ballerini ❤️
I do the first hairstyle all the time with damp hair. It creates pretty waves when taken out after it dries!
I love Anna’s hair wavy!!
So many great hacks!! The last one was my fav! I don't like crunchy hair.
I Love the "french braids"!!!!!
You don't need essential oil in order to break the elastics. Any regular oil will do.
Yeah especially since citrus oils can be pretty irritating on the skin and cause phototoxicity!
Basically, if you have lemon oil on your skin and then go into the sun it can cause burn like blistering and post inflammatory pigmentation after those have healed. And people experience that after making margaritas at the pool, I'd wager the risk is a lot higher with undiluted lemon oil. Especially if you don't thoroughly shower and wash your hair and hands right after.
There's a reason even major essential oil fans usually tell you to never apply them undiluted.
I'd personally just use the seam ripper technique or apply a drop of whatever hair oil I'm currently using anyway. Or something like canola oil from the kitchen if I'm in a pinch...
Yeah, even coconut oil. I discovered that while at work, when having a coconut oil mask on braided hair... it was a little disaster 😓
I tried with coconut oil & it didn't work for me.🤷🏽♀️
Has anyone tried it with olive oil?
I tried the lemon essential oil on my daughter when we remove her clear elastics....no more screaming! You are a god send
I think the braid hack works better on dark hair that lacks dimension in color. When I put a French braid in my black hair, you can’t see the details at all so you wouldn’t know the different on my hair. Where your hair has more dimension to it, the difference is way more noticeable.

I use a curling wand to break the elastics. This is cool because you don’t have to heat something up!

Also, most essential oils need to be diluted when applied topically, so they might be irritating to the skin if not diluted. And also they can trigger headaches, and some are not pet safe either.
Just a heads up!
okay but i screeched over your florida sticker... i am obsessed with him hahaha
re: putting boiling water in candles to get rid of the wax: you have to pour the boiling water in, let it sit until completely cool, and then you can just scoop out the wax because it has hardened and clumped together at the top :) I do it to literally every candle ever, but you really do have to wait until the water is cold before you can clean it out
"don't commit me to this part" 😂😂 me
Comment on the first hack - I have seen and done and liked a hack on a French fishbone braid that reminds me of that.
Like you recreacted sorta in the first part of the video.
omg I tried the elastic and lemon essential oil and it worked I'm so shocked
Kayley, can you do a video about taming those baby hairs at the neck that fall out of the ponytail?! I've tried what you did at 13:18, and it doesn't work for me, so wondering if you have any other ideas!!!
YAYY!! I missed you💖
The faked french braid helped me to learn a real one.
It is perfect to teach your hands to add strands.
You can also use a wrapping paper slitter on clear elastics!
I’ve been waiting and now the video is finally here🙂
I’m so excited for this
that first hack is my go to hair style bc i cant double french braid lol!
Can you please share how you keep your Kristin Ess flat iron so clean!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼 I have the same one and it’s yellowed 😩😩
I actually do the first hack all the time and I love it, because 1) I can’t French braid and 2 it looks very very similar to a French braid
“Hope you are enjoying caffeinated Kayley”....yes, yes we are
General rule of thumb with coffee is 3:1 🥰
