First half of it is more like a documentary on human struggle.
How is the bolstering on the office chair?
Heck, If you can't get a contractor to build a house/shop on the land, find one to build your own car test track/off road test track.
I'm so stoked for all the new things happening!
Look into versitile buildings in NZ.
They design and build everything they do.
You’ve not failed, your contractors failed you.
100% contractors
@@mrstoives2444 this is a disease right now, non committal people...
@@mrstoives2444 I know enough to know, it's not her. She's a dream client, her act will be in order.
Maybe look for a shop for sale with an existing apartment in it that's zone commercial/residential. Buy it then apply for renovation permits. Hope that helps you!
True. Your contractors failed YOU. As far as a compressor.... a scroll compressor is best. Quiet and powerful...BUT expensive. You can write it off as a business expense.
My stomach sank when I read "End of an Era". I thought this was it, Sarah is leaving. So glad to hear you are moving to a new shop!!! Whew. Never leave us Sarah. Cheers.
No, not yet. If TH-cam still exists when I’m too old to work in cars anymore I’ll just do nature videos lol
@@SarahnTunedwhy wait?😂
@@SarahnTuned I would still watch those!
@@SarahnTuned
Nature Videos featuring Pokey-horse and your camping rig (or Forester Gump) would be an awesome change of pace that I certainly would enjoy. I loved the video(s?) where you kitted-out Pokey-horse with the rooftop tent and went off grid. How about a collab with a photogenic nature professor from a nearby college or university?
H2G2 author Douglas Adams got a 1989 BBC radio documentary and book out of his collab with zoologist Mark Carwardine. That was the State-of-the-Art back then. Your unique presentation style combined with a professor's precision would make for compelling TH-cam content. By using your vehicles as the base of operations for these nature videos (similar to your rooftop camping video) that would keep them auto-adjacent for your motoring fans. At the same time it would give you the opportunity to have some video-able content where you could have some fun.
@@SarahnTuned Would watch!
Again, content is content. We are a patient Sarah watching crew, and you are a welcome entertaining break to our own struggles.
Hear hear👍
YES!! Feel free to take a break.
Well put!😂
I am content in my consent of this content.
I'm currently watching another content creator move his shop from down south back home to Meredith, NH. The shop buildout has been interesting. Now that I think about it, there a few content creators that recently left a famous automotive brand doing similar content.
been watching for 7 years. I'm 62 now. I feel like you have grown so much over the years and I am so proud of you! Don't lose sight of your goal. The Barndominium is a very doable project. You will find the right Contractor. I love seeing Charlie do little things in the shop that round out your skill set together. I'm so looking forward to the next 7 years of video's including the ones with updates on that house. Keep up the Great work. I appreciate you.
Sarah, you are the GOLD standard in automotive content anywhere on Earth!!!
Shout out to Charlie and Angel legend boys👏👏
Charlie‘s Angel?!
Especially Ladder boy. Dayum you lucked out!!😢😢😂😂❤❤
On erecting your new building.
I’ve done PEMB for a very long time.
Step 1: Order your Pre Engineered Metal Building and have it erected, GC no. 1 leaves.
Have any below slab plumbing and electrical runs installed.
All exterior doors and windows need to be installed at this time.
Step 2: Now your second GC steps in to finish out the living spaces. They can use wood or steel studs since they aren’t load bearing.
This is how my company has done schools, churches and office spaces.
Can’t wait to see more content, no mater where it’s made at. 🙂
this commenter gave you the BEANS! 🫘
now sow them and grow them!
- this is the way!
If possible have as much through slab plumbing designed before the slab is poured, but, hey, it can be figured out.
With Plumbing, you only really need one water and sewer connection out of the slab in a central location. Since you are building the internal structure for the living space, you can run the pipes as you see fit through the walls. Or just build a Wet wall in the center of the living space with 2X6 or even 2X8, and orient all plumbing to that. Or even a Utility/Laundry room in the center of the living space.
Exactly !!!
I would love to see you build this and show progress video's on it.
So thrilled for you Sarah, a new era for Sarah-N-Tuned! Awesome shop!
Wow Sarah! I'm impressed. Thanks for taking us along on the ride!!
8:35 Odyssey batteries are the best. Pricey $$$ but worth it. Installed one on my 1966 Series 2a and it cranks the engine like its about to shoot it out of the engine bay!
You've got to be one of the hardest working TH-camr out there
Well, men are hard workers
Sarah and Derek from VGG!
This absolute Queen switches garages without us even noticing and not missing any uploads. Massive respect. Wow. I'd say more people need work ethic like that, but I think most people would burn out working this hard
I am burnt out, but I’m also a veteran. It’s our DNA to not quit.
@SarahnTuned well, you don't have to quit, but please also take care of yourself. I don't think most viewers would mind a little upload break, if it means we get to enjoy your videos for much much longer. You'll also be able to enjoy doing what you love for much longer. Anyways, love your videos, I'm very glad I found your channel
@@houserootie The real problem here is the TH-cam Algorithm. TH-cam doesn't care about the health and well-being of the creators.
@@SarahnTuned Veterans Rule Sarah! Keep at it!
@@SarahnTuned your not burnt out - your burnt in and seasoned to perfection
I love it!! Glad you took the time and effort to film this.
Hire someone that will do the slab along with a plumber to so your plumbing gets installed before the concrete dudes do their thing. Hire the steel building people and they do their thing. Then a carpenter, they'll frame out the house parts. Then an electrician. Dry wall people after that. Paint it and get the plumber back to finish the electrical. Easy.
Excellent shirt. Zep was a trip to see in person.
Honestly, you could have spend a couple weeks filming the packing up, moving, unpacking, and cleaning - and I'm betting all of your subscribers would have eagerly watched every video. You have an art of making even the most mundane tasks enjoyable to watch.
I like the Led Zep shirt!
I have said it before, I’d watch and thumbs up Sarah reading the phone book.
With your sense of humour it would make great content
You only bet on certainties, obviously! 🙂 Of course we'd watch.
It's INSANE that you did all that without missing an upload! You really should pat yourself on the back if you haven't already!
Yeah.. it sucked I’m exhausted; Couple 16 hour days in there.
@@SarahnTuned Don't burn out - we'd miss you too much! (Sorry for being selfish!)
@@SarahnTuned Please take it slow over the holidays and treat yourself, you've got so much to celebrate and be proud of
Contractors nowadays suck. All the best with your new space, I've been there before.
Sarah, I'm sorry you've had such troubles getting your building sorted out -- but WOW is that a nice shop upgrade!!! You totally deserve it!
Love your sense of humor and your technical expertise.
Don't give up on the barndominium, I have the same problem. I've been trying to add one to the land that my warehouse is on with no success because people don't seem to like to work on things that are not every day/cookie cutter standard and normal. The real fun starts when you begin working with your county's planning department😂Also, so glad I got to meet you at SEMA! =)
Thanks! nice meeting you too.
You seriously are an amazing person Sarah and that’s all I have to say about that.
You have expressed exactly how I feel…
Congrats on the new shop!
You are the hardest working TH-camr out there.
Take care.
Sarah is the James Brown of TH-cam?
I'm all about buying a property to conduct business. However, the plus side to renting space is, 100% of the rent payment is tax deductible. Whereas when you buy a property for business, you have to spread out the tax deductions over 39 years, thus causing you less tax savings in the short run. Both have pros and cons.
So you can get all that rent money back is what you’re saying?
On the other hand, real estate value typically appreciates over time, and the owner gets the gains, the renter gets the pains.
Fellow car TH-camr, retired USCG, & old Ranger owner here. Congratulations on the new shop. Thanks for your service.
Sarah, we love your content, regardless if it is a car review, a build video or you moving your shop. We feel your struggles because we have all had them too. Please continue to do what you do, as that is why we tune in!
Hope this covers a meal and some boba! Excited for the new shop!
🎉 Congratulations and all the best. Bright idea. Got rid of the storage unit payment, more parking and working space as well as an office area that is hopefully air conditioned.
I mean, not really.. just consolidated it to a bigger payment on something else lol. Yeah, AC is on the wall by the lift.
@@SarahnTuned Looks great, love this content as much as your regular output. Hopefully you are still close to your co-collaborators such as the custom grill shop.
So excited for you, thank you for sharing the journey. Your experience with contractors is not unusual. Life is not a straight line for any of us. We so enjoy the videos, thank you.
Way to go Sarah and congrats on your new shop .
100% props to you for dealing with moving, filming while moving, and keeping your release schedule while all that was happening!
And we got some top notch reviews into the bargain. Your work ethic is unmatched 😊
Nice one, Sarah you deserve it. You work bloody hard. All the success in the future.🎉
2:39 I assure you, *none* of us are "blah blah blah just shut up and get to work." Watching you change nests is awesome!
Gas tank chemistry: Any water that gets in the gas tank will sink to the bottom and be cut off from air by the gas. Any water soluble impurities will end up in the water, and if they're organic, they'll do weird anaerobic reactions that smell bad.
Congratulations on the new shop, Sarah! That is life-changing. And I know moving is it big PITA. Plus, land update, cacti scenery, and getting a car running. Hope someone comes through for the compressor and fuel cell you want. C'mon, Santa!

Congrats on the new place and I hope you'll get your own place built some day in the near future! 😛
You’re so amazing, and not just because you’re a babe, or just because you’re the coolest car chick on the planet.
I guess you know your viewers better than anyone, but who wouldn’t want to watch you in action breaking down the old place or growing into the new space.
Love you Sarah, just keep being you awesome self please.
Great, GREAT progress Sarah. Glad to see you expanding your shop. Hope you get your own building built soon just make the building bigger than needed. Love your channel..
This is a great day! So happy for your new space! I am a general contractor in Casa Grande and I know exactly the frustration you have experienced with finding a jack of all trades that can do both the steel and the interior of your barndominium. Perhaps splitting the construction into phases so that you can get better results from each who specialize in the part they are building. Super congratulations on the new shop 3.0! ~WilPaul
Can’t, Pima county and the bank need the entire quote/job all at once.
@@SarahnTuned I see. You will have to be the GC and line up all the other people and there is your quote. Leave about 10% over on the quote because reality.
@@SarahnTuned I agree that it sounds like you will have to be the GC over at least two GCs who will do the actual work. If that isn't tenable, what about building the metal building as a shop and just making sure the water, sewer, utilities etc come in at a decent place for the future housing portion? Then once that is done, final-ed and you can use it to replace the $4k payment for the shop THEN do a "remodel" and add the house and office space you really want?
@@SarahnTuned have tried
Boss Hog Barndominiums?
I bought an old barndo and am fixing it up. It was built like @homeFall1 suggests so I was going to suggest the same. Now I see @kimcoffey7944 suggests Boss Hog Barndominiums. I took a real quick look at their website and they seem promising.
An enormously surprising and entertaining video! Your new shop looks awesome and will hopefully save you lots of time having to jockey vehicles around to gain lift access for car review filming. I’m amazed that you pulled off this move while keeping up your video release schedule AND a livestream for us to enjoy. New subscribers and viewers should watch a few of your earliest videos to see how a truly passionate person can achieve their goals through talent and hard work. Extraordinary, Sarah… 👍👍👍

So happy for you on the larger space and hopefully someone will come along and build your dream shop/home.
Glad to see another video, Sarah! Been a long while!
Congratulations Sarah!!! Glad that you found a new place. A Barn-dominium would be perfect for you. You will find the right person for your build, your just have not found the right person yet.
This is awesome. It's not an end of an era. It's the beginning of a new and better era of Sarah -n- Tuned.

Awesome space, moving scan suck but this a positive time. Keep pushing, their must be a builder out there for your project. 👍
Congrats Sarah..love ur style/humor....
You are the hardest working person I have ever seen on youtube. Congratulations on the move and making a step up and closer to you dreams.
I'm as happy watching shop builds as watching car builds. You do you, and we'll just watch
R&R buildings. They speclize in metal buildings. They also are on youtube. Can tell, you are very happy and excited to be in your new place. Congrats!
I need a GC, the metal building part is not the issue.
Why wouldyl you need a general contractor,. Two different building styles . You need a home builder that has the skill and training to build a dwelling inside a building. Your complicating this . Steeling building contractors don't do GC for homes and home GC don't do steel buildings.
Wow!
It's fun seeing the Focus SVT again after so long. I remember when you first brought it in and said you wanted to make a dirt racer out if it. I lost track of it over the years.
I'm looking forward to more about all of this stuff. Videos or no videos, on whatever cars, keep 'em coming!
No pressure to get the "normal" videos rocking and rolling ASAP. We're in it to watch you succeed at life. Sometimes that means moving. Sometimes that means cars. But the real content is the life of Sarah. Take a freaking break once in a while. Go camping for a week (and take us along!!!) Go to a swap meet (and take us along of course!) Go to a water park or amusement park (and take us along!)
Sure, we still want car content. But we also want Sarah to have a life and minimize stress.

Seconded

Please stop being so hard on yourself. You’ve done a lot more than most and you’re creating content 703k of us have watched. You’re killing it friend.
704k now 💪
I was on the same path with a barndominium a few years ago. I realized pretty quickly that there are companies pushing great deals on buildings that can be barndo's but they won't provide grading the land, pouring concrete. In addition, insulating, building the wooden framework inside and getting a contractor to warranty their work was impossible. I wasted 2 years looking for a GC that knew the specific build type, and after sifting thru 10 contractors and realizing they were all smoke and mirrors, I put the dream one shelf for later. I have architectural plans though for a 40 x 80 building with a second floor living space, an RV pad and lean too spot on the side, full solar and battery ready and a wrap around upper deck with a small elevated green house. Grey water re use and water capture system. One day
I feel your frustration in an all to real way. Great new shop space for your new chapter, happy for your progress!

According to a W.H.O. from the late '80s; the top 3 causes of distress are: 1, Death of a Partner, husband/wife. 2, Moving house. 3, Loss of employment. Then public speaking is in there somewhere ... But Moving House is Second Only to Bereavement.
Great new building . Congrats, its amazing how have an organized space makes you more productive. Don't forget the fresh light and air..
Engineered plans. Turns an overwhelming process into a straight forward project. Stay blessed.
I have engineered plans already, as well as a steel building manufacturer, concrete, dirt work, all of it lined up. What I don’t have is a decent general contractor to provide all of this to the county and bank for approval.
@@SarahnTuned I think what you need is a project manager. One that specialises in small industrial structures. Someone to create the plan, initiate it all and follow through as it progresses.
Given your time constraints, it would be money well spent. You won't be paying them the whole duration of the build, only when they have to spend some time dealing with it.
Is there anyway that you can share your buildplan? Potentially want to copy.
@@SarahnTunedMiss Sarah, You are so much ahead in so many areas, please don’t let these happenings stop you. Here in NE Florida I submitted plans for my home to the county as an Owner/Builder, GC. Plans approved then the bank. Since I had $ to get through about 50% of projected costs, I got their approval… 25 years ago. Then a year ago I built a standalone garage as Owner/Contractor. The county in 25 years, had really changed their permitting process to ugly. Jumping through all their stinking hoops and two months later they finally issued the permits. All that said just to say, you are the Can-Do lady. Since you have the plans and subs lined up 🤞, approach your county as an owner/builder/contractor and give it a try. Then, if you get county approval take it to the bank.
And please know, if you can be an owner/builder, you may… have to get your hands dirty on the project. I certainly did a huge portion of the permitted work on both of my projects.
Sarah, Wishing you all the BEST! mh

Hi Sarah you are amazing! Moving and making a video, moving sucks. I was soooo worried with the title of this video. I totally understand your frustration, having the property and not being able to build what you need/want and the part about being a small business owner and wanting to put the rent/lease payments back into the business/ your pocket by owning the building. Have never heard the term barndominium before but I love it, I too want some day to build one on my property….. sigh fingers crossed!
