They turned the workshop into a children’s playground with little connection to railways. That serves as a good analogy for the current state of the NRM. They shut down this real working workshop that let you see how engines were repaired. Combined with that, they’ve given so many exhibits away that Shildon now has the largest collection of locos in the UK.
Problem with the whole Science Museum Group. The top gallery floors in London are now a conference centre and about half of the open space in Manchester is either a cafe or play area (most of the museum being a building site)
Time the nrm started giving loocs to groups that want them. City of Truro to Didcot, evening star to an appropriate sized railway. Anything southern to mid hants, bluebell railway etc. The t3 has proven not being owned by the stuffed animal is better.
A serious repair and replacement of a vital part of the train. Thank you for the video, as always! 🇬🇧🙂👍🇺🇸
Awesome to see this type of Mechanical work still being done by hand. Good to see some still have the trades in their blood

Fair play to the guys moving SNG by hand!
Does NYMR still have their drop table? Can it handle large drivers? Any others elsewhere?
Reminds me, I have the iron part of a RR car mover like those. Need to find a suitable wood handle.
We're will all the work be done now or are we seeing the end of steam again.
A sad shame we won't see anything like this again at the NRM; it's fast becoming a glorified children's playground now... :(
Another nail in the coffin. Kids play area - why not get rid of the locos and turn it into a pound shop disneyland?
Totally agree plenty of railways will take em on. Look at how successful the t3 is not being owned by the stuffed animal museum.
Emily and Spencer has been based on we’ll remembered him GNR Single, Gresley A4 Pacific from original Thomas and Friends stories
What is a Cartazzi wheelset?
Sad to see the UK going the way of the US. History is so old fashioned!
Is going a " no smoke zone" aswell
Absolutely daft.
Come on guys there has to be a better way to move a 100 ton loco than man handling it.
