Its crazy how the Leafs search for a new Head Coach is headline news on TSN meanwhile the Jets are in the exact same position (and earlier) yet not a mention. Glad there are channels like these that keep the focus on the Jets! Keep up the awesome work!!!

Yeah TSN and SN want the clicks and the ad revenue that comes with it and that only comes from talking about the big market teams

@@mister_salmon5693 That is fully understandable- and true- but its always so imbalanced and can be corrected easily. Was anyone else absolutely annoyed by Gary Galley's placement on the Jets broadcast during Round 1? He was blatantly open about his support for the Avs. That seemed insane since he was hired to cover a Canadian team on a Canadian broadcaster. Just hire Kevin Sawyer for the Playoffs too- problem solved.

Toronto, Ottawa and Winnipeg are all looking for new coaches but the weird thing is they all left in different ways. One was fired, one retired and the other was just interim.

I'd like to see the Jets follow the lead of Vancouver and Vegas and build an All-Star Coaching staff. Get the best Head Coach but surround him with equally qualified Assistant Coaches that become the very best at their positions. For example, I think Woodcroft and his success with the Oilers PP would be the ideal PP Coach here (if he was willing to take a supporting role). Getting rockstar coaches in place and maximizing your player's talent is cheaper and more effective than upgrading the players. I don't want to crap on the 2023-24 Special Teams coaching but it was clear this was a missed opportunity both in the regular season as well as the Play Offs. Imagine taking our current #4 overall standing Jets and upgrading their PP and PK to similar Top 5 numbers? That alone would be a massive win.
But to answer your question specifically:
Head Coach = Sheldon Keefe (to maximize the young talent)
Asst. Coach = Jay Woodcroft (improve PP)
Asst Coach = Scott Arniel ( PK and to continue the great culture that Bones created)

Keefe was a guy where my gut reaction was "OVER MY DEAD BODY", such is the power of hating the Leafs. But the more I think about it the more I like the idea of Keefe coming in. I believe I read somewhere often a head coach's 2nd stint as an HC sees a significant improvement. Nelson Is another really intriguing hire. TB got back to backs grabbing a successful AHL head coach in Jon Cooper. Anything that can make contributors of players on ELCs is a significant bonus for Chevy. ELCs are often the best source of contract value for teams.

    Fresh firings: McLellan, Evason, Lambert
    Well traveled vets: Boudreau, Gallant
Second chance: Brad Shaw, Kirk Muller
    Assistant seeking HC: Ryan Warsofsky
Ahl coaches: Todd Nelson, Karl Taylor
    Other: Scott Gordon, David Carle

Wow can't add much to your opinions because I think you are completely correct. Jets need to start utilizing their young talent and haven't really had a coach over the years that did it.

I like Keefe, he's always had his club at our near 1st place, and I'll think he'll
be getting better with a little time. He has presence and posture when he speaks.
May be willing to take a good look at Todd Nelson, as many of these successful
AHL coaches bring their winning ways to the Pro level.
Scott Arniel - absolutely not, I do not get inspired at all listening to him talk, and comes
across as "one of the boys" when he talks. I don't see any leadership qualities in him.
Jay Woodcroft, far too risky, although I do get a kick out of his interviews :)

I’m for Tod McLellan bec. he’s defensive oriented so similar to the current Jets identity plus being familiar with Villardi, Iafallo, Kupari and Toffoli. But agree with keeping Arniel for the culture and a young coach to fully utilize the Jets prospects.

I want Joe McDonnell or Stan Tugokulov from the Dallas Stars. Both know how to pick the right plaryers for their team & develop them properly. The Stars are the best team in the West for a reason. Marc Savard would be another great choice as HC as well.

I Personally believe it will be Arniel.
But I would love to see Todd Nelson, I think he would be perfect fit and if not then I wouldn’t mind Craig Berube. His style of coaching would be good for WPG.
But reality and TrueNorth, it will be Scott Arniel as head coach of WPG Jets. 🤨

But I Still Think Joell Quennville Should be Given The Head Coaching Duties But Do Keep Scott Arneil.

    I'd like Dean Evason
People can say those Minnesota teams wernt good they were still paying price for Parise/Suter contracts.
And he's currently Assistant coach team Canada World Championships.
It says he's from FlinFlon but my grandpa coached him and he went to school elmwood.

First, say it right: it's Sheldon QUEEFE. (I think he would actually be good). Woodcroft is a perfect example of failure. Here ya go, here's a team with two of the best players in the world, just don't stink up your first 20 games this year

If the Jets even consider Keefe I will be VERY unhappy. Keefe is an AHL coach pretending to be an NHL coach. He was clueless most of the time, who happened to have a handful of players who could outscore their problems until the playoffs. A complete disaster waiting to happen.
I strongly believe the Jets will look towards experience with a history of proven success.
