Y’all the real gag is she performed Eusexua at the Valentino show almost one year ago . That’s so wild to me that no one noticed . Yet she’s just now dropping it
the song wasn't finished when she performed it there. it was a new artistic approach where she performed an unfinished song to gain perspective over what direction to take with the song after the vulnerability of performing it in its unfinished state.
I love videos too, but I think he shouldn't do that. They can warp the way you view the music, they're good to watch after you already listened to the song, but not as a first experience.
@@111Malefic I think they can impact in a good way as well. One of the newer ASAP rocky songs for example. The song is a pretty simple banger type song but the music video is a whole nother story 😅
Twigs hasn't been alt rnb since LP1, and even that wasnt all alt rnb. Sure there have been a few tracks since, but she's been leaning way further into artpop and such. Her still being heavily associated with rnb after all of these years feels a little... Strange. Especially when shes been vocal about her disdain for being boxed in with alt rnb.
Damn, people always compare Twigs to other artists. I don't hear anything similar to Bjork on this track. Let her stand in her own lane and lets appreciate her forging her own path with her music and art. Of course everything has an inspiration but this seems so much more inspired by experiences, feelings and life than simply being inspired by other artists.
Sure, she’s an artist in her own right, but there’s a synth towards the end of the song that sounds a lot like the synths in Vulnicura by Bjork. That’s the only similarity I could find
I appretiate what you're saying, but this did sound a lot like Bjork, and the video reminded me of Madonna's Bedtime Story song (produced by Bjork no less).
@@ajh8156As big Bjork fan (I even do music analysis of her music on my channel) this track doesn't sound like Bjork music. She don't use much synth as lead melodies. And she didn't direct Madonna music video, she composed only the music.
Fka twigs doesn’t make music for these typa weird “music critics” who are alleged suburban yt dudes… Whàt substantial opinion about any FKA twigs song can I take from this man (that I couldn’t have thought of on my own 😭).
It was obviously gonna be a wash as soon as he said “R&B.” Watching his lack of expression during the song, but then him giving approving nods at the end was a special kind of negative pricelessness. I’m clicking off. Fuckin egg head. Not because he’s bald either.
yes, eusexua is not rnb at all. but he prob said that because caprisongs, her last record, was mainly alt rnb. he said it before he heard eusexua anyway.
@jna9841 i take back my og comment because I guess "oh my love" could be considered r&b, but that's really where the r&b influences of Caprisongs ends.
@@aeas09What is Caprisongs if not alternative RnB? Like, this is a genre with a particular sound and her production is so much in that pocket. I'm not saying she's like an RnB singer and that's all she is because her style is so varied, but what genre is that mixtape otherwise?
How do you manage to alienate your audience so quickly? R&B? Those are fighting words. Namely, because twigs went out of her way to stress that she does not make a flavor of R&B. But most of all, why would I trust anything else to come out of your mouth after R&B?
A lot of her music is definitely alternative RnB. I know she doesn't like that and I think she kinda has a point about being pigeonholed, but LP1 is like prime altrnb
I don't think this is a particularly good track. Musicians coming up with a new word and trying to make a new concept out of it is usually beyond their ability. The music video, while impeccably executed, is much less deep than the aesthetic would make you think. Work sucks, forces you to conform to a repressive standard, but people nonetheless find ways to be outside of that standard in a way that's more expressive of themselves, even while at work. A bit obvious. Lyrics are ok I guess. I almost wish I encountered just the track without the music video because the musical aspects are the strong part, but unfortunately it feels like it's not the most important part of the release. Idk, I feel like this is a case where people are saying it's great but can't really say what makes it great.
