Good luck with the tech my guy, it's a shame he won't use them, hopefully he will tho as their caps will wear off eventually, but they look phenomenal!
Wouldn't that change the sound of the tester and not make it accurate for testing? It seems like the sound difference of the custom keycaps is why he's not using them in the new keyboard itself. I think numpad on the side he has is definitely the way to go.
@@yung_czery True, I was mostly using that reasoning based on what Matt said about the sound of the keycaps in the video. I was honestly surprised to hear him say the sound was all that different and he didn’t want them on his board. I still think he’ll get the most use out of them on his separate side numpad. Seems like he left out the tester as a thing for a potential guest to play with, not so much for himself to use.
@@namenloserfloyea the base board is a fantastic price to quality value. Matt just wanted a very specific layout and Keychron had the nicest housing for that particular 84 key layout
Nice looking keyboard you got there! Just wanted to ask you to keep an eye on your hands and wrist for any pain. Had a coworker that liked the smaller keyboards but used them in a way that had their wrist at an awkward angle and developed carpel tunnel from it.
Yea the board itself wasn’t my #1, but it’s really well built and fit the very specific layout that Matt wanted. The zero degree silent switches were the same spec Matt had picked off of a switch tester. But with the ceramic caps it came out so nice and heavy. I absolutely loved working on it.
Glad to hear that! :) I don’t have as much experience in the keyboard world as some. I did an insane amount of research and trial and error to get it as nice as possible.
@@ColeCxle The components seemed like they were expertly chosen, especially with the case of the space bar being heavy. Ceramic key caps are for sure worth it as they look and sound phenomenal!!
I got the k2 with the pro red switches and I love it. Haven't made any mods to it, the space bar is the only thing I'd change really, it a bit too pingy compared to the rest of the keys.
Hello Kevin just thought I’d let you know that keyboard cables come in many different shapes and sizes, some look like cables too, hope this information helps you find a new one. Tho do make sure the length is right as you mentioned before, it’s like buying a pair of shoes, you can always get something that’s bigger but never smaller, that’s why you go for the big numbers, just like how you should gamble with big numbers because that’s when you get the bigger wins, think of it like that. Have a good rest of your day 👍
Ceramic keycaps is definitely an interesting choice. I thought about getting a set for myself but I can't use glossy keycaps in general because they collect too much grime. Basically I'd need to clean them after each gaming session. And that's a shame because I love the look. Hopefully your hands are less sweaty 😅 Also, don't forget to set up layers. I don't know why people don't put emphasis on that feature when they're talking about mechanical keyboards but that's a big advantage. E.g. you set up Capslock as a layer key, layer WASD as arrows and E as Enter and now you can navigate all the menus that don't support WASD navigation without jerking your hand to the other side of the keyboard.
It’s got all the keys of a normal board without the numpad. It’s not that bad tbh. I daily drive 60%, 40%, 120% and tkl. They aren’t bad to switch between ngl

Maybe those extra keycaps could fit into that tester you have downstairs in a living room as a decoration?

Not to be that guy but why do people use minimalistic keyboards as 100% keyboards have more binds and have more features
