But what happens with the cluster light when the 4wd is engaged? Can i still use the sensor that turn the light in the cluster after this conversion?

What's the kit cost for a transfer case on a 4l60e out of a 97 chevy
Once the BW shift kit is installed, can you put the transfer case in the neutral position and tow the vehicle.
Once it is in 2 wheel drive. The transfer case is disconnected. I would think.
@@butchthurman4685 In normal 2WD the transfer case input and rear drive output are still connected through the reduction gear 1:1 mode. As a result, anyone flat towing will be spinning the drivetrain via the rear wheels up through the transmission output (which would be no bueno in an automatic). A manual transmission in neutral would be fine.
A true transfer case neutral will only spin its internals connected directly to the rear driveshaft (including the speedo and the oil pump) and disconnect the front drive chain, reduction gear set, and input shaft.

Any requirements for the transmission to have threaded holes to mount the linkage cable, and is there anything required for the dash 4x4 and 4Low indicator lights to function? (To at least idiot proof it for myself)
I was looking at having to do a transmission and transfer case swap for my ranger according to most forums, since my transmission doesn't have the holes to mount the linkage for the Tcase should I have swapped to the BW13-50 or 13-54 manual case lol. It seems like a whole fiasco to convert from electronic to manual using factory equipment...
Now seeing this I think I might not even bother going to the shop to diagnose the electrical fault to pursue repairs on it. Just get a manual kit, retrofit the shifter, and call it a day, the last owner swapped out the auto hubs already anyway. I'd take manual 4x4 and hubs any day over relying on electronics that become nothing but dead weight to get you stuck better haha. Definitely seems like a much more affordable option, both in terms of parts and labor (assuming I don't mount this myself)
