I hear ya man! Mine passed in 2010 and I bought a pair of Knicks Command Forces because he wore them to coach my basketball team in middle school. I was old enough to buy original Jordan 1s and up in store with him back in the good old days when they sat on shelves, so I’ve had my work cut out for me lol.
I got my first pair of Jordans when I was 10 or eleven in 1986. They were black and red 1's in a size 5 and a half. They were called Sky Jordans, not Air Jordans. Back then if the size was 6 or under the were called Sky Jordans. I'm pretty sure it was because they weren't putting air soles in those sizes so they called them Sky Jordans. As a 10 or 11 year old I was pissed. I felt cheated. lol. Next year I had grown enough to get size 7 Jordan 2's. Anyway, I digress. I agree with you. There was a card that came with the size 7 AJ 2's and, I'm pretty sure, with all the OG's I bought for the next years. Give us back the cards!!!
I can't believe that I've become a sneaker head at 57 years old. I've been trying to get all the new Jordan releases for about a year, now. I have 4 different pairs, brand new, still in the box, that I don't plan on ever wearing. I just wanted to see if I could get them. I have other shoes that I've worn once or twice and some not at all. My son calls me "The Drip God" for the way I match the shoes with my clothes. I had no idea what he was talking about. I thought he was trying to insult me.
That's dope! I'm 33 and a sneaker head, and I was recently thinking about stepping up my loafer game, but I think I'll always have a love for classics well into my 60s

I guess you could say that. I splurged and bought a pair of True Blue 3s in 2018 because the 3s are my favorite shoe of all time and I had a pair as a kid. After that I was off to the races! Some people buy a car for their mid life crisis-I bought shoes 😂.

The Internet and all the sneaker apps have really made it possible to create a huge market for resellers, which was basically non-existent in the 90s, at least not at that level and speed. Also, in reading more about this reselling s*** last week I've learned about botting, which I knew nothing of, and was just outraged to discover that man. There's even a reselling market now for buying bots for god's sake! Crazy world, ain't it!? And there is no way some retailers (which I will not named here) are not part of the reselling game too somehow.

I hooped in them (indoor only) during my senior year in 98-99. My first J's were the 11's Concord. I bought both of them with my chores and my newspaper delivery money at a local independent retailer from back in the day. Today, it's almost like we need a mortgage to buy the damn shoe... and even then, good luck coping one.
I'd say don't hate the Player, hate the Game. Most resellers are people who Love Sneakers and Sneaker culture themselves and resell as a Side Hustle. IMO the culture itself is pretty fucked Up at the Moment. Everyone buys whats hyped whether they Like it or Not and Nike keeps on limiting the Number of pairs so much that a Lot of people will Take the L even on General Releases
As much as I love the white cement pair that I have, and still my fav colorway of this model, I cannot deny how great these look. Moreover, how good of a job they did making these close to the OG as they could. I'm such a sucker for the heel tab, and the black with the red is just too damn nice. Probably the best looking one color wise out of the original 4 colorways. Glad you got a pair dude!
4's are the shoe that made me fall in love with sneakers. Got the black cements last year and the fire reds in the shock drop, need the militaries and the white cement to complete the OG set.

These are hands down my favorite Jordan’s. No question. My main grail if you will. I sold them once but regretted it so bad I happily paid resell prices to have them back. Lesson learned. Anyway I love these so much.
See this is why I watch Chris’ vids on Jordans and look forward to them the most. The attention to detail, history and culture. Not only that but he’s objective with the quality of leather. I see too many TH-camrs calling these 4s “bad quality” or “disappointing”. Like what? Wear your shoes! They’re good quality leather and will only get better.

Got my pair on the early shock drop in hand already! Thankfully my pair was even on the left and right shoe. They look great - just wish the materials were more premium for that young $200 price point.

Just got my pair from the general release on SNKRS. Got Right Shoe Factory issues too - same uneven leather on the toe box just above the midsole, as well as wrinkled leather. Still excited though! First pair of J’s for me in awhile. Looking to get the University Blue 9’s as well as the Jubilee 11’s. Truly enjoy your guys’ vids. Pro-level analysis and reviews. Keep up the awesome work!

Another great review. Everytime a new release is coming that I am interested in, i cant wait for your review. To the Fire Red 4's...I am worried now. I am seeing a lot of others that have had one side all fucked up. I am like you and wont be too happy with one F'd up side. These were the first pair of nike I ever owned. Mum surprised with them in 1990, we were pretty poor at the time so it was so exciting. Then some prick stole them from my schoolbag. And I bought a pair of air ultra force. Well 30 years later I am so excited for these! Hell, even my fiancee wants a pair now because I've been ranting about them, can't wait to get them!

Great video as usual! I've been trying to decide whether or not I like the shoe outta focus in the foreground and just you two in focus and then the rest outta focus. I'm not sure I like it aesthetically myself. When it comes to the shoe, that colorway is such a nice and classic look. The shirt your wearing in this video is also great!
my mom put my kobe 9s on the thrift store. in February some dude in the area sold a pair of kobe 9s same colorway and size and my old ones from 500 bucks on ebay. I was pissed cus they were mine (i also knew from a stain they had on the insole)
I understand what you mean by twisted sole, I thought I was crazy when I first experienced it. My first pair of Jordan 1s or retro jordans came from the Nike outlet and I didn't realize they had a twisted sole until it was worn at home. My left foot was ruined for the rest of the school year that year. I had to sell them mid way through the year. Btw they were the Green and Gold celtics colorway that I got for $40 at the outlet.
It's interesting how often the left shoe's toebox is much better than the right. Low and rounded, whereas the right shoe higher and boxy. Noticed this a while back and started seeing even general quality of the shoe as far as shape/craftmanship the right shoe is usually worse 5:063:47 lot of times the sole actually bends up more in the front than the left

I missed out on the shock drop and I'm glad I did considering a LOT of people had issues with the the defect on their sneakers, it is like they shock dropped the sneakers that were by far not inspected, I pre ordered my pair before the shock drop so I hope I get a pair out of the inspected batch. These were the first pair of nike I ever owned.
Mum surprised with them in 1990, we were pretty poor at the time so it was so exciting. Then some prick stole them from my schoolbag. And I bought a pair of air ultra force.
Well 30 years later I am so excited for these! Hell, even my fiancee wants a pair now because I've been ranting about them, can't wait to get them!
Yooo I decided to finally really look at my pair of these 4s and.... what the hell!!! They look different, one has a more boxed out toe and over all shape. I had to come back to this video and share. Damn it!!!!!

Great video as usual! I've been trying to decide whether or not I like the shoe outta focus in the foreground and just you two in focus and then the rest outta focus. I'm not sure I like it aesthetically myself. When it comes to the shoe, that colorway is such a nice and classic look. The shirt your wearing in this video is also great!

my mom put my kobe 9s on the thrift store. in February some dude in the area sold a pair of kobe 9s same colorway and size and my old ones from 500 bucks on ebay. I was pissed cus they were mine (i also knew from a stain they had on the insole)

I understand what you mean by twisted sole, I thought I was crazy when I first experienced it. My first pair of Jordan 1s or retro jordans came from the Nike outlet and I didn't realize they had a twisted sole until it was worn at home. My left foot was ruined for the rest of the school year that year. I had to sell them mid way through the year. Btw they were the Green and Gold celtics colorway that I got for $40 at the outlet.

It's interesting how often the left shoe's toebox is much better than the right. Low and rounded, whereas the right shoe higher and boxy. Noticed this a while back and started seeing even general quality of the shoe as far as shape/craftmanship the right shoe is usually worse 5:06 3:47 lot of times the sole actually bends up more in the front than the left

I missed out on the shock drop and I'm glad I did considering a LOT of people had issues with the the defect on their sneakers, it is like they shock dropped the sneakers that were by far not inspected, I pre ordered my pair before the shock drop so I hope I get a pair out of the inspected batch. As a reseller I cannot wait your comment on it (: just don’t forget if they really want to, they easily can make bot protection as they did with jordan 4 unions I believe here is more better for Nike and Jordan brands.
