- Hi all 😊.....
This is a video of how I created flower coasters, I know I have a long way to go but as you follow me on my journey, it's good to share my progress with you along the way. I do apologise for the terrible audio, I used a different 3rd party app so will make it better for next time. Also, for some reason, the video did not upscale to High Definition.
As mentioned, Petra Gerbracht gave me a push to try these, here is her channel if you would like to watch her work, she has both English and German versions of each of her tutorials:

Disclaimer: I have not heat tested this resin and have made these for decorative use, if you are creating to use as a coaster, please look into a heat protective top coat 😊.
I hope you enjoy. Please feel free to share this video with your resin friends.

I am fully aware of the risks of working with resin products and aim to give you great tutorials in a safe way. I film in a very ventilated area and keep risks to myself low. I would always recommend you to wear full PPE based on the data sheets for the chemicals you are using 😊😊😊.
Stay safe whilst creating beautiful art 🙏
Just watching 💗 so so excited 🤩
Thanks Petra 🥰😊
@@daniel..cooper I was smiling too because I have the same struggles very often 😍 but you are certainly on the right track and I love your result 💗
🥰🥰 thank you 😊 🙏
Such a great video. So much fun watching 💗
Daniel I enjoy your tutorials. I don’t learn from perfect tutorials, I learn from your mistakes. 😂 keep making them real. Btw they all turned out great. ♥️
Thank you Maddie 😊
Even the ones you call "messy" are simply gorgeous!!! Spot on! 🤩
Thanks for showing us how to gracefully come back from a “whoops” and embrace the artistry all the way!
Amazing tutorial again Daniel I ve seen in other videos that they put the piping bag in a paper cup before putting resin in bags not laughing at you but with you and the last one is my favourite keep up the fantastic work x
Thanks Louise 😊, yes, I totally should have done that! 😂😂😂
Thank you Petra and thank you Daniel for mentioning me and my course. 😊😍 Truly appreciate it. ❤️
Very welcome Sherry 😊 😀
You are welcome 💗
🤣🤣 the back had me laughing out loud! I’m sure these are going to wonderful, despite thing not going to plan… 🤣🤪
You’re video isn’t boring but your voice is so soothing it nearly put me to sleep. Beautiful work
Thank you so much 😀
These turned out pretty good! The black ink scenario made me laugh as that's me every time lol!
Even you doubted to upload this video, I like to thank you for doing, it is helpful and motivates me to also try making flowers. And I was laughing with you 🤣 . Thank you Daniel!
Thank you 😊. Very welcome 😊
My mistakes are so much worse!!!!!!!!!! Thanks!!!
Hi Daniel: I love your giggles . I love them . Messy means hand made . My favorite is the pink. I just started with resin: still lots to learn. . I will definitely watch you. You have a relaxed attitude & like you said we learn . If you like check my TH-cam. I can use some encouragement 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you :)
😊❤ You’ve come a long way Daniel.
Great tutorial 👍 You don’t give yourself enough credit, it’s all a learning curve & at least your willing to give it ago & show us 😊 I did have a little giggle when your black ink squirted everywhere apart from where you wanted it to go! 🤣 Well done, I’m certainly enjoying your tutorials, I’m learning a lot from you & I'm just one person. Just think of all your other followers your teaching ❤
Thank you 😊🥰🥰
I love your video's. Each time you make one I watch now that I have found them.(I am on the "How many years can I work with resin and still have to experiment as well train".) Though I believe with this particular medium that will be forever. You are very honest, insightful and informative, so you are a step above quite a few of the people I have seen. Keep doing this because honestly, I learn from you but also enjoy your ability to be down to earth as well as your "camera skills"! You are wayyyyy better then you think.
Thank you so much Karen, that means a lot 🥰🙏
The "messy" one is my favorite out of all of them. They are all pretty though.
It's funny I was actually thinking do different petal shapes through them all and loved that the last one you did. Fantastic!
New to your channel today off of a recommendation in an epoxy/ resin group on Facebook. So happy I found you. What awesome techniques
Thank you so much :)
I don't actually have any hobbies and your channel popped up on my page so I've been watching you with great interest and joy and quite had a giggle with you on your last flower and the black ink 😂 your great fun to watch thanks for bringing me joy
Thank you so much :)
I personally like the pink one you sat is messy. I don't like pure "perfection" always. It gains something in it's imperfections
Thanks Tracy 😊😊
I know this is an old video but I wanted to let you know that I love all your work and I have a suggestion instead of holding the bag while putting in the resin try putting the bag in a cup with the sides over the sides of the cup. That way you have two hands free. 😁
Thanks Shelley, I now do that in each flower vid 🥰🥰
Thank you Daniel for choosing to work with Molds and Shapes Fantasy mold and showing your process video !
It was relaxed and a pleasure to watch! It made me smiling, than wondering how, how, you could replace the with resin filled mold and lauging with you the moments you were adding black ink. Anyway, not always the resin listen us and do the movements we had in mind, but grateful you uploaded the video and thank you for this!
Thank you for watching 😊. It was a pleasure and I will keep trying until I am happy with my results 😊.
So is letting the resin sit for an hour or so what keeps the color pigments from sinking ? I tried using a concentrated white ink in something and it shot straight down lol so i was just curious. Also the black ink Lmao 🤣 that happens to me all the time Lawd i need help
Hi Nicole, this was a bad video, I have learnt a lot since, #54 should explain best way I have found 😊😊
I’m laughing with you Daniel, not at you! they didn’t turn out too bad at all. Thank you. 👍😁
😂😂😂😂😂
Haha the black ink had a mind of its own. Amazing work ❤️
😂😂😂 that will teach me! Thank you Samantha 😊
These are great, I actually love the last one you did that you called messy. I still have real difficulties with these coasters, I get far to many blobs. Thanks for putting the video up even if you weren’t happy with them. 🌸🌸🌸
Thanks Sandra 😊
They are great, I love the ones with the glitter, not too much for me xx
Thanks Joanna 😊
I’ve been trying, and failing with blooms for the last 3 days… I’ll get it to work eventually!! Love your videos!! These looks great!! 😊
STOP SAYING......"IT'S NOT BRILLIANT", "IT'S NOT THE BEST TUTORIAL" BLAH BLAH LOL You're tutorials are amazing and you are way too hard on yourself!!! I do suppose all of us artists are our own worst critics but I'm here to say STAHHHHPPP!!! 😂 I always say art isn't meant to be perfect!! It's meant to be inspiring and that you do!!! 🖤🌈✨️🫶
Sorry 🙈 its the anxiety that makes it worse
have to love the algorithm lol i just watched #283 and then this popped up in my recommended vids
Showing your mistakes is how the rest of us learn from you. Don't stop showing those errors, please.
Ce bord dentelé est magnifique !!!!!!!!!!! J'adore !!! où peut on avoir ces moules svp ? Merci beaucoup 🙏💖💖
New to your channel. Really enjoy watching even through the mistakes❣️😂
Hey there wanted to ask was a little worried!
Is epoxy resin biodegradable?
is it a type of plastic?
Is it hazardous to nature
Could you help me please
I think they all turned out lovely. I wonder how it would look with a dark blue background? I've seen that most people tend to use the black. That black ink had a mind of its on lol, you got it fixed though 🙂 I've only tried the flowers once. My alcohol ink didn't cure for some reason. Not sure if I messed up mixing the resin or I added to much ink. I'm going to try again soon. It's all a learning process and as long as we have fun in the process. Big hello from Scotland in the UK. I'm enjoying all your videos x
Right at the part where you're doing the last flower and you said you kind of messed it up or got it messy I have figured out that those are always the ones that turn out the best I don't know why I haven't finished your video yet so I don't know the turnout I'm about 16 minutes and 26 seconds into the video but for some reason when I feel like I screwed one up and ends up being the best one believe it or not and I'm getting espresso machine won't work come on I just need a shot of espresso for my coffee this morning yeah anyways you get what I'm saying
Olá Daniel ! Ficou muito linda essa técnica. Sou do Brasil, são ótimos seus vídeos.
You got to laugh when you do mess up a little bit because or even if you mess up a lot because you know a lot of people see these videos and they think it's perfect the first time that you do it not a lot of people realize that this could have taken three different video takes it's okay to mess up that's how we learn to do it differently next time it's not always going to be perfect and it is quite amusing because it shows not just myself but others that it's not always going to come out perfect and it's okay and I do find it amusing because I myself I'm the same exact way I think disaster has struck it is just the end of the project and when I demold it I'm like oh well listen that lovely it came out better than the rest and then I laugh even more!
Not bad. I learned a lot from this tutorial. Getting ready to try my first flower.
Still came out nice!
Thanks Stacy 😊 🙏
Awesome, gaps are good. Love the edge of the mold
Thank you, Daniel. I especially love that you give credit and references to other artists! That to me is evidence of you high level of professional ethics. Kudos!
Thanks Nina 😁
This video is awesome hun❣️ I love how you explained everything in detail, the good and the 'bad'. I did laugh, but honestly it was at your expressiveness. You were so real about what you were doing and how you felt about it. I absolutely love it and I love the coasters, especially the one you call messy! I'll def be trying to get that kind of result. Lol I personally love the clear, or negative space, I think it draws your eye more to the beautiful flowers that you created ❣️ Shared this one to myself in msngr so I can find it easier than the rest 😉
Thanks again Jennifer, so glad you enjoyed watching 😊😊
Wow! Amazingly some splendid bad luck clover 4 shapes
Thanks Maurice 😊 🙏
Thank you for sharing. 😂 ❤️🙏🏻❤️ the edging on the mould looks amazing 💕
Thanks Karen, yes, these are great moulds 😊
i bought a cheap brand-Diffusion Color Dye-Sinking White,,, i just put drops over colors & didnt do anything,,are you suppose to mixit with other color for it to work??
I haven't tried that brand, sorry 😔
I like the "messy" one best, Dan! 😊 But, I do like a black background on this type of flower! So sorry your black ink went everywhere! You actually controlled it pretty well, considering it was going off in every direction but down! Gosj, I had no idea they could do that! But, yeah. What else can you do but laugh? Better than crying! 😅
😂😂😂
You're awesome glad you didn't scrap the video. I think they all look gorgeous. Hopefully I can get this good with practice.
Thank you 😊
Hi Dan! Lizzie from TikTok. Just wondered, did you end up waiting an hour or an hour and a half? I use the same resin and it takes a while for it to thicken up compared to others I’ve used. I just wasn’t clear about how long you waited before piping the “flowers” in. Thanks!
Tomorrows video will change everything :)
Not laughing at you, laughing with you. Love the tutorial. Thanks for sharing.
😂 Thanks Sheryl 😊😊
YAY SIR DANIEL - I finally made it over here again. So excited. Nice watch too. (this is Sharan as if)
Thanks Sharan 🥰
Petra is awesome. These are pretty and great save. I love M&S but the shipping doubles the cost for me here in CA. Oh well, someday I'll get my hands on them...lol
Petra is very good! 😊😊😊. Hopefully one day you will get them Christi 😊😊
The struggle is real! 😅 I had the same thing happen with Piñata yellow.. it squirted out every where! I was doing a sculptured vase. I tried to salvage it by adding more yellow in other areas but, in the end.. all I could think was ‘It just’s looks like the dog peed on it.’ 🤣 it’s been banished to the basement. You recovered very well. They turned out great. I love the detail in that mold. Thanks for sharing your struggles, it helps the rest of us know we’re not alone.
😂😂 the struggle is definitely real! 😂. Thank you 😊 🙏
WoW MR. Daniel Cooper Ur are making very Beautiful peices
Thank you 😊
I'm gonna try waiting an hour next time. So far I have waited 45 minutes but still had white fall thru to the front, not as bad, eventually I will get the technique down. But hearing you say an hour, to hour and a half gave me hope. Thanks.
New video tomorrow will make it so much better :)
I’m still laughing 😂 last week I was experimenting with this type flower and my entire top popped off and a very large space, including me had blue ink on it 😡 so happy this happened to one of the best resin artist. I feel much better
LOL
😂😂😂 it's a moment I will never forget 😂🤣
I just purchased these yesterday, the ones with Holograph on them. I did not know you had a link. Had seen them on another video. Next time I will go through yours if you are an affiliate. I love their molds. They are a bit high dollar but OMG I had to have this set with the tray!
Thanks Sarah, not an affiliate for the moulds, was just helping the company out 🥰. They are very good quality 😊
What I am laughing about is that you thought these were a mess!!!!! So many tutorials are from artists, like people who have an innate artist ability and everything is perfect. Since I don’t have an artistic cell in my body but still love to create,I know I could never achieve what they do. You are an artist but you allow for the fact that not all your audience is - your messy is my perfection, so please keep showing the tutorials that don’t quite meet your standards because they sure do meet mine.
Thanks Wendy :) Thank you also for becoming a member :)
This was great! I actually like the third one. But it's comforting to ,know that we all make resin mistakes. 😆😀💜💛
We certainly do Dawn 😂. Thank you 😊
wonderful information. As a soap maker and person who has used piping bags for various techniques; I would like to offer you a suggestion. If you take your piping bags and drape it over a cup. it will leave both hands free to completely empty your small cups of colors. this way, you can scrap out all the resin without wasting or eaving behind any. It also helps in getting all the resin into the tip of the bag. I hope you will try this suggestion. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Deborah, yes, for some reason my mind blanked at the time 😂
Thanks!
Thank you so much 🥰
Thank you for sharing your trails and tribulations as well as your beautiful coasters. Brilliant!
Thanks Donna 🥰
Wild flowers are my favourite 😉 Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you, very welcome 😊😊
Great tutorial and they are so pretty.
Daniel great video, just a small tip, put your piping bag into a cup with the edges bend to the outside, then you can use both hands to get the resin out of the mixing cup.
Really love your work!
Thanks 😊 Yes, I totally should have done that! 😂
Muchas gracias Daniel por enseñar tu arte! Bellísimo tu trabajo en resina...te saludo desde Uruguay 🇺🇾!
Thank you 😊
I think they all turned out really pretty. I love the colors that you used. I think the black background worked really well, too. It made all the colors really stand out.
Thanks again Lisa 😊😊
They look amazing
I love this tutorial. Awesome Daniel. Amazing
Thanks Debra 😊
I think they are beautiful. I am messier than you are, so I laughed right along with you!
😂😂 thanks Cynthia 😊
Glitter is great!
I don't mind watching the same ideas over and over again from different people everybody has their own way of doing a technique or something might be a little bit different from the last one and it might work better for me or for another person so don't ever think that it's not interesting or fun to watch because you may do something a little bit differently than I've done in the past but your way works better for me you see what I'm saying so don't ever underestimate yourself you are helping a lot more than you realize you're helping I mean how at least you have a channel I still haven't grown the metaphorical testicles yet to start my own channel I do other crafts too like I crochet and stuff like that but I still haven't got the courage to start my own channel yet anyways I want to know a lot from your videos, some things are reminders that I forgotten along the way and some things are completely new for me I've been working with resin for I don't know about 2 years now and from where I was to where I am is just insane so yeah never a second guess yourself you're you're always helping somebody that's for sure
Thank you 😊
❤️🌈❤️Love them. So cool how the petals fan out. Oh my the ink. 😝
Thanks Kim 😊
I like the black background I haven’t seen anyone use that on the back of flowers before.
Thanks Christina 😊. I prefer that one 😀
I think they are beautiful! Even your mistakes are pretty
Thank you so much Barb 🥰
Hi they all turned out good I’m going to have to try the piping bag technique but without the black ink lol 😂
😂😂😂 thanks as always Elaine 🙏. Yes, don't be a Dan! 😂🤣
I love it 💝 I laugh too with you 🤣😂🤣 but I want to be Dan 🤣😂🤣
😂😂😂 thank you Fra Fra 😊🥰🙏
I think all of those came out great. I like the ones with the clear background a little better than the one with the black. That way I could choose what background color I wanted by just placing it on a different color place mat etc. I also think it would look great placed on a natural wood table. :D - Heidi
Thanks Heidi 😊😊😊
I always love the negative space. It make the flower look like it is floating.
This is true 🥰
Beautiful ! Loved them both but the glitter is totally Gorgeous
Thanks Diane 😊 🙏
I suggest putting bag into a small paper cup and draping it over the sides, than fill.
Yes, I so should have, have done it before, not sure what came over me 😂🤣
Liked the first one best. A good learning experience .
Thank you 😊😊
자꾸 웃지 마세요
정들것 같아요 ^^*
I like your technic because I don't like blobs either and yours come out so nice better than anyone else.
Wow, thanks Twiggy 😊 🙏
This is amazing !!! I can see that I’ve missed a lot!
Thank you!! :)
Great vid!!! I did love all your results!!!
Thanks Linda 😊 🙏 x
Oh wow such awesome art pretty flowers
Thanks Samantha 😊
The black one is my fav! :-)
Thanks Yvonne 😊. For a messy piece, it turned out OK.😂🤣
Your a goof ball! They are beautiful!
😂 thank you
Where you get your coaster mold from?
Hi, all links are in my video descriptions :)
They turned out really well…great explanation
Thank you Lisa 😊
I thought they turned out beautiful!
Thanks Angie 😊 🙏
My favorite is the messy one 😀
Thank you 😊
They turned out great🥰🥰
Thank you 😊
OMG when you started with the black ink🤣🤣 , I thought- Halloween , not flowers....but...it turned out much nicer than I would ever have imagined, as did the "messy" one. Well done.
😂😂 thanks Patricia, I was panicking so much! 😂😂
@@daniel..cooper Never panic, even when you make mistakes - it's how we all learn and no one expects you to be perfect 'cause that would be just weird. 😂😂
So true Patricia 🥰. Thank you 😊 🙏
I love these they're so pretty 😍
Thanks Ann 😊
Fabulous Dan. Love all the techniques, we want to see, the good, the bad, the funny, the ridiculous (can't believe you'd ever make anything ugly) because that's real life!
Thank you 😊
Wunderschön
😁 it still worked out.
Luckily 😊. Thank you 😊 🙏
Still a good job 😂😂
😂😂 thanks 😊
So glad you decided to upload this tutorial. Yes, many laughs, but they came out beautifully, even with the negative spaces.
Thank you so much 😊😊🙏
I think they turned out quite lovely, very pretty! I'm new to resin art & would have been freaking out over the black spraying all over like it did, but it turned out great! You had a wonderful attitude & good at teaching. Thank you for sharing! I too used more glitter in my centers than intended, as they tend to spread out, but it's a beautiful effect! I also love working with Let's Resin, virtually no bubbles.
Thank you Pam 😊. Yes, their resin is so clear 😊😊😊
