MTA GLOBAL BUS SEARCH: 1981 NYC Test of Japanese Hino RC Bus [History of Buses]

In this video on the MTA's global search for the perfect bus, we take a look at the Japanese Hino that was tested in 1981.
We review an article from the New York Times from that year when these buses first went into service. We also take a look at similar Hino buses in Cuba.

For one, the red and white Japanese bus isn't a Hino. It's a Nissan Diesel. Same for the Singaporean interior shot. The only operator of Japanese buses in Singapore was Trans-Island Bus Services (TIBS). The interior shown is that of a Nissan Diesel U31RCN. As a Singaporean who have rode the Japanese buses here, I can certainly tell.
