Great video! Also, I wrote up the exact sequence of chords with strumming patterns used in the actual recordings of the song, along with some additional information for anyone still looking around!
Some notes:
Each intermediate DU strum is played kind of right before / in between switching from one chord to another, so I believe some variations/recordings of the song might play the DU as a filler chord with all open strings and no fingers on the fretboard. You might just prefer the way this sounds (and, if you’re a beginner, this gives you a bit more time to change chords as an added bonus). Up to personal taste!
Also, if you’re a beginner, you can opt for the easier versions of the barre chords by only pressing down the top part of the fret and avoiding strumming any of the unbarred open strings at the bottom (and of course the non-bar versions of the Dmaj7 and A chords), as well as the three-finger G chord. As you get more comfortable with barre chords, you can gradually progress toward playing the fuller version of the song.
Finally, the strumming throughout the song is aggressive (fast and loud) for the most part (the exception is the first half of Chorus 2 at the very end, which is intended to be much quieter and softer) with a melancholic, lonely, and perhaps even schizophrenic vibe, so strum with enough speed and pressure to create ample volume and a smooth delivery without any abrasive plucking noises. However, the actual lyrics for the song are intended to be even louder than the strumming, so I’d suggest figuring out the volume that works best for your voice to comfortably capture all the vocal inflections and strumming just slightly softer. Personally, I like the control strumming with my thumb gives me. Optionally, while there wasn’t really any percussion in the recordings for this song, you could add a kick/snare “heartbeat” style percussive pattern with your strumming for some extra texture (seems most effective in all the chorus sections).
Notation: D = down strum, DU = down-up strum, - = empty (additional time for the previous strum to ring without muting), r = rest (mute), rD = rest with muted down strum, [.] = individual chord, | = individual bar/measure
Time signature: 4/4 time with half a beat (equivalent to an eighth note) per each strum/rest, where each - after a strum denotes letting it ring for an additional half beat, and DU as a single strum means a quick D strum and a quick U strum in succession (where each quick strum is given only a fourth of a beat, equivalent to a sixteenth note)

this may be a dumb question but when ur strumming the strings, do u only strum the strings ur pressing down on? cuz i try to but i always accidentally strum the other ones
depends what your playing, if ur playing a d chord it is the bottom 4 strings, but a g chord would be all 6 strings
