My biggest problem with this movie is the wrong guy won in the end.

Movie was awesome then out of nowhere he gets beat by a dude who has half of his IQ it doesn't make sense and it didn't fit at all idk who made that choice but man was it ever a bad one

I would say Michelle was hungrier. She thinks more like a man with less emotions and I really appreciate her thirst for justice and vengeance. I'm drunk so I'm not saying kill everyone in the "justice system" or anything but I do vibe with her way of thinking. 😉

People saying Clyde wasn’t as smart in the end … nick got lucky as fuck with info he should’ve never had access to and Clyde’s options were limited in prison as well. Nick wasn’t smarter he got lucky as fuck

I was in high school when they shot this movie in my city and I remember it being so many detours it was crazy
Jamie couldn't look him in the eyes in set. Gerard vomes up to him, to do some talkin and drinkin after a days shooot, back in his trailer. Gerard asks him, whats wrong? Jamie says, im just really impressed with u. Then Jamie tells him, " From the movie 300, do the mine... This is Sparta!". Gereards done a lot of great movies but his best was proly as a LAPD cop, tracking down bank robbers!
Mich's reaction to the judge phone call at 22:24 is golden. Not very often she actually yelps/screams in disbelief or shock. In my view, this movie is very very good especially because it raises a critical and very important problem. The system is not perfect. I get it. But what happens when someone is sent beyond the tipping point and the system does nothing? All this could have been very easily avoided if Nick had actually done something from the beginning instead of making a deal with a monster. He unleashed this. Just like Clyde said: Everyone needs to be held accountable for their actions.

6:46 yeah, this is pretty much how the death penalty works in the US. It's a cocktail of injections, and it goes wrong quite often. That scene is one of the least realistic parts of the representation of our justice system. I'm not a big proponent of the death penalty, but people on death row are typically executed up to 30 years after their sentencing due to constant appeals. 10 years from conviction to death is almost unheard of.

The original ending had NIck getting away scot-free. Audiences wanted him (the hero) to be held to account, so they changed it.
Actually the ending was changed because Jamie Fox wanted to seen as the "hero" in the movie who caught the bad guy.

i didn't like the ending because Jaime Fox's character wasn't held accountable. Nick had to be held accountable and should not get awat scot-free.

He wasn't gotten the better of, he never intend to kill Nick. He was never a murderer; he simply got the justice Nick denied him. That's the purpose of that final shot of Nick enjoying his family, reflecting.
I really advise you to watch a French movie: "Intouchables" (subtitles are available in English), it is really amazing.

Clyde would have had a failsafe to disarm the bomb remotely.
Even if he could defuse the bomb, I doubt he would. The only future that awaited him was to spend the rest of his life in this cell, unable to do anything as they found his secret exit.

Jamie Foxx has a bit of an ego.
He insisted on the ending of the movie being so that he doesn't die and wins at the end.
This is a repeating pattern wherein he always comes up on top in his movies, from a slave turned bounty hunter in Django, a homeless person that's actually a musical savant in The Soloist, to a regular cab driver that's able to kill a professional hitman in Collateral.

Getting naked let’s the cops know without a shred of doubt he wasn’t carrying a weapon. Ensuring they would arrest him without possibly shooting him on the spot. This ruining the rest of his plan. One of the best movies with the worst endings
