- Movie World Gold Coast Update! Warner Bros. Movie World is a Theme Park on the Gold Coast in QLD, Australia! Updates on the NEW MOVIE WORLD RIDES - Flash, Wizard of Oz, New Arcade and MORE!
We were in the area, so decided to pop in briefly for a quick update! We look at progress on Movie World's New Rides - Flash Speed Force, Flight of the Wicked Witch and Kansas Twister, and look at construction on the new Movie World Arcade, which has sadly resulted in the demolition of the old First Aid Building. We also look at which rides are currently closed in the park, and watch the Movie World Parade!
Wizard of Oz is Movie World's new land, opening late 2024. It will have a lot of theming, and two new Roller Coasters: Flight of the Wicked Witch, and Kansas Twister! One is a Vekoma suspended family coaster, while the other is a Vekoma Dueling Family Coaster.

Thanks for watching! Sad to see the old First Aid Building go. I hope the new (rumoured) Arcade is a worthy replacement.
Didn't visit Dreamworld, but we hope to film an update there in the near future!
Nice update from Maintenance World
🤣
When I first saw ride closures and demolition I thought you were talking about doomsday destroyer and I got resort excited for a second 😂
haha oopsie! You never know, it may happen...
I dont like how Movie World has very little water fountains throughout the park, Heats the number 1 killer globally.😭😭
Could use more for sure! They are better than Dreamworld's though, much cooler!
Thanks so much for always uploading these great videos!
My pleasure! Thanks so much for watching :D
I didn't go to Movie World this week after seeing Superman Escape was temporarily closed for unscheduled maintenance 😆 But wow this was a very different update; the park looks very quiet, bleak and kind of nostalgic in a depressing way, like when you see childhood places you love when they're dark and deserted. I'm hoping Superman opens soon (I can't survive long without my dose of adrenaline), and thank you for the update. This was a very interesting video for sure.
Did have a different vibe that day! Here's hoping the park starts to improve - perhaps they'll pay more attention to keeping it presentable when Oz opens. Hopefully Superman is back, soon! I wonder where he went...
I remember going here in 2019 some places I still remember I hope I can go back here one day.
Will be good the next time with the Wizard of Oz area!
Australia 🇦🇺
Kind of a shame that area is turning into an Arcade...now back in the 80s Arcades WERE super popular and relevant...we even used to go to the one in Disneyland in Tomorrowland The Starcade for an hour or so during crowded days to kill time.
Nowadays though...it just seems like a waste for a spot of land that could add a sizeable attraction or 2 themed Kiddie rides.
I feel that due to covid that arcades have been coming back as a resurgence due to nostalgia or other stuff. I just hope they have some unique things to play with.
Yeah, Arcades have certainly gone down in popularity and status since the last 90's. Nowadays they just have over priced mobile ports and claw machines. Imagine if Movie World added a retro style arcade - now that would be awesome!
Rip First aid
Good to see FSF testing and what looks to be some preparations for work to actually begin on WWF & DRHC maintenance! How long do we think that the Arcade demolition plot will be vacant for? Great Update as usual!
Thanks! I have a feeling they'll get the Arcade up relatively fast now. I guess the First Aid building is what caused that massive, one year delay
Well... its very quiet lol, sad to see it like this but once Wizard of Oz opens will be back booming, just need the Wild West to get a flat ride and Doomsday to be removed and replaced not sure with what though, maybe a different pendulum or a swing ride
Here's hoping the park is more presentable for when Oz opens! Will be interesting to see what happens to the DD area. So many flat rides they could choose from if they decide to go that route.
Of all the things one could possibly pitch to somebody in 2024, the best idea that came to mind was an arcade? I can’t be the only one that thinks there could’ve been better uses for that space?
I agree, it's not the best idea. They seem to be focusing on what bring in the most amount of short term revenue on paper
This is really upsetting to be honest I’m going here with some friends in august for my birthday so hopefully the rides will be up and running by than
I hope you have a great visit! Keep an eye on the maintenance page on Movie World's website to see which rides are open. So far none are listed to be closed in August (though this could change). - movieworld.com.au/park-info/maintenance-schedule
What is the best moment to travel out to australia for the park without it being extremely crowded or having all the rides in maintenance?
Now that's a hard one! June is probably a good time - quieter (and not as hot) as the Summer holidays, with most of the rides still being open.
Nice footage 👍 👌 🎢
Cheers!
I'm really bummed about rivals being closed, as I'm going to movie world for the first time at the start of June. That would have been the thing that i was most excited for, but oh well, hope superman is still open haha
Darn, that's a shame! Hopefully you'll get to visit again when Rivals is open! Here's hoping Superman is behaving for you - I think it should be fine!
New sub here, hai.
From nz, came over for a couple of weeks, went here last week and seen it in this exact state. Hadn't been over since rona started.
I feel the loony tunes are outdated and they need to update something more for the kids.
The movies also need a bit of a revamp, theyre really pushing the superheroes thing a bit too much. I would love to see rides based on some other classic movies, eg matrix, terminator. Unsure if they have been tried. But something matrix would be cool.
Keep up the vids bud
Hey, thank you and welcome to the channel!
The park does have a lot it needs to improve upon. A Matrix ride would be awesome!
Wow, do they at least discount the entry fee for this time of year when everything is down. I am also not a fan of Arcades in Theme Parks. Kids weren't interested either, we can go to an arcade in our local shopping centre anytime we like.
Agreed about the arcades! and they sadly don't do any discounts at all. It's very anti-consumer, and way behind was pretty much every other Theme Park around the world does
great to see another update of movie world, The entrance for the flash ride looks sick I love how wolverine and flash is chasing Have u seen the tralier for flash and wolverine? I have!, it looks good.
I wish the first aid building never went it would of been great to have it here but i guess not thats sad :( the acrade better be worth it rip first aid building we willl miss u! I love the statues in wb kids world Why is everything closed in wb kids world its weird not everything! but some rides, On the day uu went it was very poor, Movieworld needs to get their act together and be not poor and open the rides, and leave it how it is!
I miss the batman legacy already! (
good update
Thank you Koby! haha, it does use the same colours as Deadpool and Wolverine. I saw the trailer, looks like a fun movie!
I would have liked the First Aid building to stay too - was a pretty building! Hope the Arcade's worth it.
I went to Movie World for the first time visiting Australia, it looks so bleak and boring now. I hope things get sorted out soon.
Yeah it's not in a good state right now. Should be better later in the year with Wizard of Oz!
The sign at the front of the park should be changed as there is not enough room to list all the rides not operating it would be better to list Rides operating today as the list would be smaller. I also think it’s bad news if the new area where the first Aid building was is turned into a Arcade area instead of a attraction it just goes to show you Movie world is pushing so hard to get every extra dollar out of people after they have paid a incredible high entrance fee already nearly every spare bit of space is being taken by gaming requiring extra outlay. If you compare Movie World now and What Dream World are doing Movie World is heading down hill at a rapid rate they have outlived shows like the stunt driving and the daily street parade is hardly worth putting on it’s the same only a smaller version of what they had 15 years ago. Why anyone would go to Movie World these days from Interstate is beyond me it is no longer value for your dollar save a few dollars more and head overseas.
I agree, it really feels like VRTP are pushing profit over the overall guest experience at the moment, which is a shame. A lot of the park is really feeling rough. There's so much that they could improve upon that Dreamworld are doing much better at the moment
Yes i agree I've been to Movie World once, and I looked at the ticket costs now and it's $105 EACH! It's incredibly expensive they are trying to make you broke although, the rides and attractions are good tho.😆☹😭
yea i agree
That’s what I do now. Overseas parks are 100 times better than this place. Starting to remind me of fun spot in Orlando.
Maybe not 100 times but their not stealing from you.
Very cool and weird that movie world does ride closures and these when global themeparks just close the entire themepark.
Due to the local climate the Gold Coast parks are open year round! Has it pros and cons
@@ThemeParkOgre yeah! It's my local park. Thinking of going to sea world soon. Jet rescue is off at maintenance so no reride but I hear lethiathan is really good
@@Coppertine_ You should! Have you done Leviathan before? It's a really fun coaster! Have a great time if you go :D
@@ThemeParkOgre Haven't, i did Sea Viper, Jet Rescue, Log Flume and possibly Bermuda Triangle (eyes were closed for like a majority of the ride)
@@Coppertine_ I don't blame you, those Aliens were scary!
Here's hoping with Batman Legacy now leaving and nothing announced to replace it they can finally demolish the building, level the ground back to wild west falls, remove doomsday since the thing is dead anyway and really open up the whole western area, put in a few flat rides and bring that whole section of the park back to life instead of the huge section of park from scooby doo and dirty harry to wild west falls being essentially one big hallway. Of course this wont happen, but one can dream.
If only, that's what I would do! But sadly, I expect the Studio Showcase is going to become Storage Shed 2.0..... wasn't the Looney Tunes River Ride building enough?
First like
Nobody Cares
we need doomsday back because its letting movie world down like if they not gonna reopen it then just remove it please its so unreliable replace it with something like the claw or sledge hammer get your game up movie world get your game face on!!
The whole place is letting it down, not just that ride
They really need to do something with that area!
This place always feels like a cheap wannabe theme park. With the cheap looking costumes, everything peeling and falling apart. The Batmobile looks terrible.
I know what you mean, but with no other competition in Australia they don't have to be forced to do anything really
It could use some major TLC for sure. Dreamworld down the road is doing much better at improving these issues
I’m sorry but movieworld is just so boring and really sad… it’s not worth it anymore, used to be so much going on… even the parade used to be 10x better 😔
It does need a lot of work, that's for sure. At this point next year it should be a lot better!
@@ThemeParkOgre I really hope so haha, I used to go literally every 2 weeks back in 2017/2018 it was the best experience ☺️
