Thank god for this video. I'm reupholstering rear armrests for a classic car and kinda overdid it with the foam and having a hell of a time pulling it over the metal backing. I'm going to apply some heat to it.
I think it has more to do with relaxing the threads, especially when you use steam and get them kind of wet and warm and lets them kind of expand and breathe a little bit taking the wrinkles out
