I love David's in particular because he switches so smoothy between Crowley, Aziraphale and the narration; it's so seamless that you almost forget there's only one person reading
I think in comparison you really hear that he's not "only" acting, but has been doing voice work for decades by now. Although the others are definitely good and acting is closely related (And I love to listen to Neil on principle).
Re: the second reading with David Tennant - he does an impressive imitation of Michael Sheen. Also love his comedic timing. Neil Gaiman's reading was fun, too, but for very different reasons: different pacing, also there's the fact that we've got the surviving co-author's take on the scene. Sort of makes me wish there was a recording of Neil reading the scene with Terry Pratchett - now, that would have been fun. Then there's Michael Sheen - very annimated, not so much an imitation of David Tennant as an homage to him. What can I say except this was an enjoyable video all round.
With both DT's and MS' recordings you could hear that they were thinking about how the other one would deliver their respective lines, and it's just brilliant. Thank you for this supercut, I wasn't convinced about the audiobook, but now I know I need to listen to the full book as well.
Jon Hamm's first bit of Aziraphale is very, very Michael too. It drops off a bit in the part that isn't in the series. (there's another clip of that reading somewhere and Jon even excused himself that he can't read these characters without having his colleagues in his ear :D)
The bird sharpening its beak is pure Pratchett; he uses it in one of the Tiffany Aching Discworld books, when Tif becomes a Kelda for the Wee Free Men/NacMacFeegle. She's about 12, and is supposed to marry Rob Anybody, who is about 6 inches tall. She is Very kind, and promises to marry him when the mountain disappears ...thus saving face for him and satisfying the tradition. He does marry a Kelda from another family in a later book❣️
Is there anyway to get the full recording of Tennant and that Playing In The Dark event? You used a small clip of the live show in this vid; there's tons of folks who'd love to see Tennant's full performance.

And Crowley is his British accent, and the narration is his natural Scottish ❣️❣️❣️

Thank you for this ! Though we must agree, David Tennant is the best !
You're an absolute angel, FYGO. Your content keeps me from starving while I wait, to quote a certain demon, an ETERNAAATAAAAAAAY for the third series.
❤❤❤
there's something about Gaiman's delivery of Aziraphale's "they could use a spaceship" line that is just endlessly endearing.
Turns out you can pop in an ear bud and listen to this at work, and still sort of work. Thank you!!!
I love all of these but the first one with David and Michael is the best! ❤
Ďakujem, všetky tieto verzie som ešte nepočula. 😍
Oh wow!! Thank you so much for posting this 🥺😍😭💜
