Finally a home with a story. Objects that have meaning; not buying everything new. I wish these modern homes they showcase on this channel would incorporate more recyclable elements into their design. Not only is that good for the environment but it has a story.

The „little dish“ means a lot to Catholics, usually it is filled with holy water and used for giving blessings. My friend’s grandmother used to dip her fingers in the water and make a cross sign on the forehead of the loved ones saying “May God protect you“, when they left the house.

Im not into the modern look, I want a carriage home that looks like a single story house on the outside, with a regular floor plan of a house even if it’s just a one bedroom with a living room and kitchen. Im not living in a tiny modern art exhibit when I can live in a house, minus the spaciousness of multiple rooms

Loved that not all wood was done in white I think when there in the natural stain tones bring elegant and a touch of history to the house and too other pieces of decor .

I love all the character and quirks of this home and her enthusiasm towards personalization in design. The only odd thing I noticed is for both their tv set placement and projection screen, there isn't seating situated nearby. For the wall used for projecting movies, do they turn around the sofa?
Love your attitude about design and your home. I would love this home, and could not see myself moving; if more space is needed put in a 2nd floor; the ceiling seem high enough. Love all those doors.

Omg it's fascinating. Congrats! I love the amount of natural light you can get and the ceiling design is just amazing D: The furniture gives it the final flair. My apartment is not that bright and I would like it to look a bit like that. Recently, I bought an Arco lamp at Barcelona Designs and it has improved the lighting a lot. Thanks for sharing it! :D

It would have been nice to see the bedrooms; we're looking to buy a home and seeing homes that are different than the cookie-cutter types helps spend our vision and options. I get inspiration and courage when I see how others have taken non-traditional spaces and created beautiful homes. Thank you for sharing.

This home is both beautiful and functional. I like how she has fearlessly incorporated things that she loves into this very chic space. It works for both adults and children and speaks to their interests and their life-style.
Have you thought about making the wall behind the sliding doors ( the doors next to the lounge) in the family room mirrored? You could install a pull down blind for when you use the projector. It would look awesome. Absolutely love your place….the ONLY thing I don’t vibe with is the wallpaper in the kitchen…
I mean I love her style and how she managed to mix so many different pieces and still make it look good, but I think she created separate nice spaces instead of a beautiful cohesive home. Don't get me wrong, the color palette is consistent and it's somehow eclectic, but you have one sitting room thats giving boho vibes and then another one mid century and a contemporary kitchen with no elements that tie all the spaces together. The layout of the house is also very weird, why is there a balcony in the middle of the family room? why two sitting rooms but no formal dinning room? Why the TV is next to such a big window, and why the projector is projecting to a door with no direct sitting in front? She has good taste, but I don't know about this house
Well it used to be Carriage house hence the balcony and other design architecture elements that were left behind - which makes it a unique home. Why purchase a home for that and then get rid of it? She also mentioned the thought process behind the previous owners' renovation (they liked it & didn't want to add or change anything) and with young boys she designed with that in mind. Sometimes you have forgo your own personal styles and lean in to the quirks of house / people u live with. It makes it her home... not the typical cookie cutter style that all designers & "influencers" are doing.
Just because “ I love it” doesn’t necessarily mean it will work. There does have to be some ability to cull and curate otherwise it is a mish-mash, hodge-podge of waaaay too many elements. There are numerous examples of that here.
the little dish she said "doesnt mean anything "..."has no rhyme or reason "is a holy water FONT ..you hang it on a wall and put holy water in ,to dip your hand in to get a few drops of holy water before making the sign of the cross .So it does have a meaning .. and to some a very big meaning behind ..:}
I love it. So different than the usual H&H houses which look almost always the same. I would prefer some more color, but at least there is art on the walls. Some advice: When you see a cross or any other religious symbol somewhere, don't say that there's no meaning. There is a meaning that you are not aware of,.
