Fastag switched from ICICI to HDFC | Probelms with 6 years old ICICI Fastag recharge on my old Creta

I’ve used my ICICI Fastag many times in toll plaza of many states, since 2018 but had been facing inconvenience of recharge due to the poor website and due to the limitations of cross platform recharge because it wasn’t linked to my car’s registration number instead it was linked to my car’s chassis no. alone.
Finally, I gave up, and chose to a new HDFC fastag for further toll tax payments with my Creta, which is modern and easy to use. Now I can recharge it using the PhonePe app conveniently.

You should have linked your Vehicle registration number (by replacing the Chasis number which is linked during the vehicle purchase as Reg Number). I have got ICICI Fastag with my car purchased in 2019 & it works like a charm. I did the aforesaid update within 6 months of car purchase. Just needs to follow their instructions coming on mail & SMS time to time.

I don't know about the previous issue with ICICI fastag but recently I ordered ICICI fastag and tried to recharge through phonepe and it works and it can be recharged now from any UPI no. after entering the vehicle number. May be it was the problem earlier but now it is solved I think and balance also updates instantly. I think the bank has worked on that issue

Any Fastag now that has been linked to car’s registration no. works with UPI app, and that’s what matters. 😇

Meri pehli car me Kotak ka fastag he aur acha kam kar raha he sab tarike se, lekin abhi nayi gadi li to us per icici ka fastag laga liya ab me bhi icici se paresan hu. Kyoki balance update 3 4 ghante bad hota he, minimum 500 ka recharge karna padta he, or har transaction ka msg nahi aata.

Sadly, I only have iOS.
Also most apps, even if it’s ICICI app, would only work with a fastag that has car’s registration no. linked to it.

HDFC fast tag is worst tag. It is nearly difficult or rather impossible to do kyc from
HDFC Bank.Not a single person of HDFC personal know kyc process.u wil feel helpless after purchasing HDFC fast tag.Even their customer support people don't know what to do & to whom should they approach.

I recently ordered icici and i made a recharge with phonepay it instantly recharged.
But the card balance is 200 rs
Purchased at 500
300 they have charged for card.
Is hdfc also charging 300??

​@@NickZeek I got the same issue initially when I purchased a new car they provided fastag with Chassis number but later I requested to Car dealer to update car registration number instead of chassis number they did now it's works as smoothly

सबसे खराब है SBI का fastag system. मुझे बहुत ज्यादा दिक्कत हो रही हैं। इसे कोई भी नही लेना। Sbi का fastag कभी भी बंद हो जाता है।
