  • Here is a video of me crossing the state line from Wisconsin into Michigan. In this video, you get a tour of Menominee, Michigan especially of the construction zone on US-41. Towards the end of the video, youll notice that parts of US-41 look like the Panama Canal and have enough water where you could put a canoe in there if you wanted to.

@HardKore5250 I grew up in Menominee. There were a lot of strikes at the foundrys so instead of caving into the demands the company closed its doors and moved to Mexico for cheaper labor. Tosumitup has it right...if you don't have the right last name or know of someone you will not get a job. I got the hell out of there years ago and have made myself opportunities I would have never had living back there. Nice people nice weather in the summer but that's about it!

I tend to agree with you, there is nothing in Menominee worth staying for....I worked for Lloyds and the Menominee Paper mill in the 70s, Working for peanuts was not for me as a young man and joined and retired from the Air Force. I got to see the world that most from Menominee would never ever see. Most people that live there think that they will fall off the edge of the earth at the county line and so they never leave. Not much if anything ever changes there. I can count on one hand how many times I have returned the the M&M area, the last being in August 2009. Still the same old town.....nothing there with few jobs that pay worth staying in the area
