Grotesco was just pure satirical gold. This song even became the unofficial “anthem” of Stockholm pride for years. Most swedes probably know the lyrics as well.
Ah, finally someone that catches what the pastor does at 5:32! Almost everybody else that react to this video misses that! I remember when this skit came out, I think that some time before that some sort of disaster, I think a big eartquake or a hurricane had caused a flooding and TV-pastor Pat Robertsson had said that it was God's punishment for gays existing. So this was making fun of his and his ilk's "logic" during that time.
The text on the end screen, "Godkänd av staten" means "Aproved by the government"

Apparently the rainbow community loves this song! When it came out, it was played over and over again during the Stockholm Pride Festival. Kind of like "Oh yeah, blame us for everything! Come on! We're used to it!" And it really is a catchy tune!

Jesus may or may not love everybody but his book sure doesn't . The skit is largely based on Pastor Fred Phelps who preached pretty much all hate
Unfortunately, he is/was not alone! A famous case in Sweden was pastor Åke Green, who was charged (and initially convicted, though it was overturned) with hate speech a few years before this song
While the translation has the pastor's name as "Teddy Phelps", the original is the more generic "Krister From" (meaning more or less Christian Pious)
They are to blame for the Eurovision though, but thats not a bad thing!
The thing is that we, swedes, are SO COMFORTABLE and ACCEPTING towards HBTQIA+ (or have been atleast - the extreme right are getting stronger everywhere sadly) - so therefore we are comfortable to joke like this.
This song is crazy old - Im bisexual and came out when I were 13, wich is like.. 16 years ago now (OMFG) and I think this song came out around that time.
And everyone I know all over Sweden that att HBTQIA+ members LOVE THIS SONG.
We have sung this one so freaking much to eachother and changes ”the faggots” to ”the lesbians” and ”the trans” and ”the drags” and so on sooooo often.

I'm gay but I love this tune. I wish Sweden had the same mentality as they had back then. I'm more comfortable with people making gay jokes/satire then trying to keep their mouth shut to not offend me! If you want to offend me you stay quiet!

People to laugh or moral issues. It is hard for the comedians that want us to enjoy our laugh times and also respect the people. But they do it and for the reason of a laugh for everybody. Even if some people can have moral issues and that is just the part of a free world. To have our say and laugh when we maybe have our hard times in life.

Never, ever let the woke people take the humor away from us, it is sometimes the only comfort in difficult times.
The whole joke is how absurd it is to blame and get involved in others' sexualities. It's certainly not conservative humor... :) Cancel culture isn't as much a thing in Sweden anyway, but this is also a good 15 years old or something.

There is a few clips of Swedish "Roast på Berns" with Swedish Celebs roasting and getting roasted with English subtitles floating around on youtube, that makes your American roasts seem like Kumbaya at Kindergarten...
