With all due respect, Commissioner, the CFL needs expansion NOW more than ever! The odd number of teams was a cute novelty back in the 70's. Today, with the demand for sports content worldwide, the CFL just CANNOT afford to give up a game a week. That lost game per week represents millions of dollars per season, to say nothing of the fact that playing coy gains you little respect from fans across the country. YOU have to be proactive: if in fact The Maritimes is a worthy market (I strongly feel that it is!), then MAKE IT HAPPEN. If not, Quebec City should have a team... 40 YEARS AGO! Not only Halifax / Moncton as a location, but Victoria and Surrey / Abbotsford are relatively viable options. 12 teams would be an absolutely IDEAL situation for the CFL, with four 3-team divisions (that they are ALL in Canada is an absolute MUST!). Quebec City needs to happen ASAP, with a five-year plan for two more teams. The advantage the CFL has over the USFL/XFL is that the league's "story" goes well into October. I don't feel that the CFL competes for USFL/XFL players because non-CFL players play in alt leagues aspiring to reach the NFL that fall. CFL players commit to a schedule that excludes the NFL as an in-year option. The quantity of players is there, and the INTERNATIONAL demand for North American football is now greater than ever. STOP dragging your feet and STOP pussyfooting around the damnable obvious - there IS a demand for the CFL world-wide, it CAN be sustainable when managed with common sense, there IS a core of teams that carry the day for the league and 12 teams could not be any more perfect a number to make the league more substantial and profitable. The players play the game to win; that said, each game is SPORTS TV CONTENT! Screw espn and fox - the WORLD demands football content, and the CFL delivers some of the most interesting football content the world is waiting to watch.

Quebec City is a must. Apparently, they are not getting their NHL team back anytime soon. Build the culture before hockey returns like Winnipeg. The Bombers are able to coexist with the Jets better than Calgary, Edmonton and in a smaller city.

Please keep an eye on St. Louis. If the UFL were to fold that could be our 10th team right there. Their attendance has been off the charts for a subpar product for at least 4 years; usually between 30-35,000. They had the Cardinals and the Rams; they could be a good fit.

I don't see expansion happening in the next 30 years. The CFL has to do more than 2 neutral site games per year to help grow the game. It should really be 9 different places. 1. send players into the city to do community service/marketing. 2. training camps 3. pre-season games, 4. when pre-season games bring in enough money, move it to the regular season. 5. hire celebrities to help market neutral site games and fire/eliminate a celebrity/neutral site every year until there is one remaining. 6. vote on whether or not they should be the 10th CFL city.

When the league expands to 10 teams, they need to get rid of divisions and play a double round-robin schedule. Every team plays every other team home and road. Top six make the playoffs, top two get a first round bye, just like now.

The nfl has turned into a financial force that promotes woke policies and big money with a football game as a lure to its fans. The average guy cannot afford to go to the games in person any more. The nfl now is promoting a pop star because she has a relationship with one team and one player in particular. Hopefully the cfl doesn’t go down that same road. It needs to expand however the biggest problem is finances. Bringing the best players into the league creates huge issues when the Canadian dollar sits at 3/4 the value of the American dollar.

Go to Moncton instead of Halifax. Halifax had their chance, they always seem to cry poor and make excuses to not build a stadium. If Halifax ignores the economic impact that the CFL has on a region, it will always be small time and famous for a 100 year harbour explosion. Moncton is still in the Atlantic Canada region. Moncton has a stadium, a bigger one. The CFL shouldn't use Moncton as leverage against Halifax to get in that market. Moncton seems more receptive on gaining a CFL franchise than Halifax. Quebec City is a long way off., but it is imperative to get that 10th team, either by hook or by crook.
