This game has aged well, amazing graphics.
Not if you play it on a Real PS2 it hasn't. PCSX 2 makes PS2 games look a lot better than they actually do on real hardware I find.
@@DaveDoc1984 actually GT4 was one of the few games able to run in 1080i, but you needed to run with component cable instead of scart/composite.

Just imagine to have circuits like this or Seattle, El Capitan, Seoul, Hong Kong, Costa Di Amalfi, Citta di Aria, Opera Paris or some other in GTS or GT7... they would made this 2 games so much better and I don’t understand why they don’t include them again in the game
GT7 dont have any one of them except Eiger Nordwand and SSRX from GT5.

imo the dust cloud behind rally cars in GT3 has still not been surpassed to this day
Too bad the shifting is slow it kills the acceleration sometimes
It is a bit slow for this car, but it's better than having instant shifting like in GT5 or GT6 where all cars have dual clutch transmission apparently.
They’re keeping it realistic though. But I know what you feel. It’s even worse when driving the Peugeot racing car same class as this Toyota.

GamingWithAyman yeah. The changing gears of 1-4 is dreadful. But once you enter the 4th gear, the acceleration is quite good.

Has anyone else noticed just how similar this track is to Forza's new york track? Both of them have the loop around the fountain and the two long straights through times square.
The final sector of NY City Track also similar to Cape Ring.

GT3 was the last GT game I played. This video makes me want to play GT4 now
This is a downgrade compared to the normal GT-One.
That's because the F1 engine struggles with the weight of an LMP chassis and body from it's reduced torque.
not really. the only problem i can see is the gearing on the transmision isnt set up properly.
A Toyophony GT². This should be an interesting feat.

I've always suspected Formula GT engine was Sauber C9 or GT-One engines high pitched...

Sauber C9, Toyota TS020, McLaren F1 GTR, Jaguar XJ220 Race Car, Formula GT, they all share the same samples with different pitches. Sauber C9 and TS020 are at the same pitch, McLaren F1 GTR and Jaguar XJ220 are at the same lower pitch and the Formula GT is the highest pitched

For some reasons the Sauber C9 and Toyota GT-ONE share the same engine sound.
Diamond OFFICIAL The C9 should have a deep rumble and low pitch exhaust tone.
If your basing off this, this GT-ONE has the Formula GT engine in it, the sauber he used maybe the same...

I'm here to get some inspiration on how to 3D model city racetracks, and only now I notice there is not a single light post or any other kind of pole there! Never noticed when I used to play this. I wonder if that's an emulation issue or a precise design choice- and why.
I remember when I was young I’d play this game non stop and always wondered how to unlock this car, mind you there was no internet then for me so yea.

I just found out that I could run the 50fps PAL version of GT4, it's the happiest day of my life.
Maybe I should get the PAL GT3 too since the fps dropped massively at night tracks and seattle, but I have complete gold on b, a, and r license

Both NTSC and PAL version of GT3 has same FPS drop in Special Stage Route 5 at PCSX2 (although NTSC is the most noticable) the best deal with it is run it on software mode it would have texture accuracy and run at 100% speed constant but it would run at lower res and can't be upscaled, if you still want to run it on hardware mode set skip draw at 2 or 3 to get rid that fps drop in SSR5 but it would have glitchy graphics
And for the last case if you want to run it on hardware mode with constant speed no frame drop without skipdrawing well there is no another chance, you should upgrade your rig
am I the only one who thinks the timing of gear shifts in this game is far slower then it would be in reality? :) especially first 2 gearshifts of any car :)
The physics in GT4 were so glide-y. It was kind of hard to brake.

Hi mate, you can download my pcsx2 in the description below.. i already tweak it for GT4. If it lag u can reduce teh internal resolution to get better FPS.

Sorry for the late reply broo, u dont need to use 8x native... just use 5 or 6x native (to get better FPS), both settings looks almost the same unless you're using 4k monitor.
You should come back to Gran Turismo Sport, they just launched a huge update

This Track better than GT SPORT
This track is the worst in GT history. Nine 90 degree corners. It looked nice, if only the track was a different layout.
