Women's oyster farm cooperative of Némah Bah

World Connect invested $4,265 in a women's oyster farming cooperative so the women could build a processing facility. They managed the negotiations with local masons on their own. The women say they are usually handed projects to manage, but this one they did on their own. The now have a safe place to process the fish product they make and store their equipment and supplies. They sell their fish products and the oyster shells in Dakar and have recently started making soap with moringa. World Connect was introduced to the community through its partnership with Corps Africa. The women are earning, saving, and reinvesting in their business.
