  • With an investment of $6,545 from World Connect and in-site support from CorpsAfrica, a group of women fish farmers built a fish farm in Ndombo Sandjiry, Senegal. A dam that was built decades earlier had made it difficult and dangerous for the women to fish for food for their families. They now not only collect food for their families, they sell the fish either fresh or dried, earn income, save, and invest in their children's education and their family's health care. The group received additional support from the local Mayor and Senegal's National Aquatic Association and catalyzed another ecosystem project nearby.
