- It's been a whirlwind month for Tony winner Laura Benanti. The lovable actress nabbed her fourth Tony nomination (for playing the kooky model Candela in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown) and learned she's headed to primetime (NBC recently picked up her TV series, The Playboy Club). Benanti had plenty to discuss when she swung by Broadway.com's studio to sit down with Show People host Paul Wontorek. During the chat, Benanti got personal about her friendship with Gypsy and Women on the Verge co-star Patti LuPone, why her marriage (to actor Steven Pasquale) works so well and fond memories of the late Arthur Laurents. The Broadway beauty also excitedly discussed shooting the Playboy pilot and whether she plans on posing for the famous magazine. Take a look below!

I was happy for Nikki's win at the Tonys, but Laura's performance as Candela was waaay more mesmerizing. I mean, the whole number "Model Behavior" itself speaks more than the character Nabulungi (in a metaphorical way).
Love Laura. As cute as Go On is, I wish she were back on Broadway. It's strange to hear them talking about the Playboy Club. She did a fantastic job but the show itself was pretty weak.

yes, she did. she essentially broke her neck, and since you’re commenting this, I’m sure you can’t imagine the unfathomable pain that comes with that serious type of injury. She still has great pain today. I’m sure you’d feel terrible if you were in and out of surgery and physical therapy too.
