Which mindset challenges are keeping you from starting your camping journey? Or what perspective shifts helped you when you first started camping? Let us know! Here's to more camping in 2025 🥂
I love camping. Just started two years ago. I learn something new every time I go. One of the biggest things I've learned is less is more. Especially if you're only going for a couple of days. Primitive camping is my favorite. My first time camping, I was at a campground three miles from a friend's house. I let them know I was there "just in case".
Yes, a lighter load can be great physically and mentally. We love backcountry camping, too. And sometimes nice to be close to home 🙂 Glad you're finding ways to enjoy the outdoors!
I agree, the image of camping definitely intimidates people. It's simple really. Have shelter, food and a sleep system, that is the basics of it. Get a tent, a sleeping bag and bring some sandwiches. That's camping too! You don't need the most expensive tent, lighting, expensive stove, etc. The trick is once you start camping, you do see the value in some of that expensive stuff, but it is not necessary. The stove I have, I found on ebay for 25 bucks with a pan I got at a garage sale. Your point about sacred moments is so true. I remember trying to get my fire started in the dark in 30 degree weather and it took about an hour. But you can't give up, you just learn from it.
Exactly. It's simple, even though it's not always easy. Also, love to hear the deals you got on your gear. Thinking we need to spend a lot of money on it can make it feel so much less accessible. Thank you for sharing your experience and watching!
I love camping! I recently turned my Toyota Rav4 into a mini RV and did a 6 week trip from Vermont down to North Carolina. I love your West Virigina video! Can't wait to make my way down there. Looking forward to following your journey ✌️🚗
Wow! That's so cool. I bet that was an amazing trip. We have only passed through Vermont, so we're looking forward to hanging out there one day. Thank you for watching!
