I see people walking on the bridge in the background as you speak. This video just popped up on my feed. Glad it did. Thanks for sharing this beautiful land and educating us along the way.
New River Gorge was one of my favorite parks! Y'all should definitely white water raft; was my first time doing it there and it was incredible!!
If I could subscribe twice I would
You can go white water river rafting, but I won't be doing that today. You can hook yourself up and walk under the bridge, but I won't be doing that today.....😂❤
stunning capture and storytelling. noob sub.
Thank you 😊
Did yo all say grand mamas?
Great video & content! My husband and I are avid campers and we’re blessed to have come across your channel. Camping and history?? Let’s Go!! I’m sorry there’s not more Black History that’s recorded nationwide. Most ppl know that America was built by slaves and it’s time they’re recognized. I’m a genealogist so I am all about family history and American history. If you want or need any help with research please reach out. I’m more than happy to help.
There's so much to discover. It's a joy to be able to share what we learn along the way. Thank you for your offer - we will keep that in mind!
Beautifully shot video!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Camping and history all in one… Thanks guys!
Thank you for watching!
Awesome words! I am an African American female Human who has been camping for years and this platform needs to be heard by other humans that want to connect with nature 🌿
❤❤❤💯
I am so happy you found us here in WV. The Appalachians are rich in history from many different peoples & cultures, largely due to the labor opportunities in the 1800’s. As a native WVian myself, I often have to remind myself how diverse we actually are because unfortunately, our diversity is not taught and shared as the strength it has always been. I am also so happy you found the African American history tour. And you are right…even though there are signs about it, NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE UTILIZE IT. Utilization is key to keeping and growing it. 😊 If you find yourselves in our neck of the woods again, be sure to head about an hour north to learn about Booker T. Washington’s boyhood home and work in the salt mines of Malden after his mother took advantage of the Emancipation Proclamation, moving the family from Virginia to the newly created free state of…WV. Then head about 20 minutes west to Institute where West Virginia State University stands. I believe it is our only HCBU, but I know it is one of the most beautiful campuses I’ve seen. Grand oak trees line a large green that I’ve sat and enjoyed as a student and a non-student too many times to count. It’s a small campus, but its history has much to share, too. Be sure to check out our fantastic West Virginia Division of Culture and History on the grounds of our state capitol if you ever have the time. I am thankful to have run into your channel and hear about your experiences in WV and am so glad you got to share our rich history. Be safe!
Thank you for these tips! We will definitely be visiting WV again and look forward to checking out more of this amazing history. Happy New Year.
nice 👌
Your channel is dope! Glad I found it! Love history stuff!
Native West Virginian here and just wanted to say welcome
Thank you!
Definitely enjoyed the video. Looking forward to your next adventures.
Thank you for watching!
Hi guys love your videos and interactions. I’m so happy to see us enjoying nature and camping please keep sharing
Beautiful, and the music was also on point. Thank you for a lovely video.
We appreciate you watching!
The NYC start had me about to skip. Been trying to escape NYC for the past 30 years, SMH. Maine looks like a good destination though, it's on my spring 2025 list. I enjoy your videos, please keep them coming.
Glad you stuck with it! And yes, Maine was lovely. We hope to get back in other seasons, too.
Good stuff, I started with a bag and moved to a tool box. Need to add some Robo grips and hammers.
Thank you this morning from Biloxi MS. I have always wondered how it was there. Now I can plan. Just got a new to me Rubicon a couple of weeks ago. My GX460 kinda put me down and so my travel cash took a toll. Minor setbacks, lol. Again, thank you for today's view and peace. Time to leave the office, take good care and safe travels. Sincerely, Jabbo
Hi there from WV! The Gorge area has a lot of wonderful outdoor and indoor activities, ranging from luxury camping (I haven’t done that yet) to truly “roughing it”. We have great fishing and hunting, too.
The New River Gorge Park is beautiful! I stopped there with the family just as a diversion during a long trip from Pittsburgh, PA back to North Carolina when our kids were young. We had a blast and were left in awe of the scenery from the wooden footpath down into the gorge.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💙💙
It's a special place!
Great video keep up the good work
Thank you for watching!
Beautiful Life ❤
Snatch block - learned something new
Nice truck
Thanks!
I enjoy your video. Keep up the good videos. Take Care
Thank you for watching!
incredible rainbow!
It was amazing!
I miss nature so much. From camping to laying on turtle beach.
Are you able to spend time in nature?
I love camping. Just started two years ago. I learn something new every time I go. One of the biggest things I've learned is less is more. Especially if you're only going for a couple of days. Primitive camping is my favorite. My first time camping, I was at a campground three miles from a friend's house. I let them know I was there "just in case".
Yes, a lighter load can be great physically and mentally. We love backcountry camping, too. And sometimes nice to be close to home 🙂 Glad you're finding ways to enjoy the outdoors!
Beautiful scenery, thanks for sharing😊
What are some of the most spectacular things you've seen on your camping trips? Let us know in the comments! 🌅 (p.s. notice anything special about the surprise?)
Looks pretty, keep going y'all !
My man is ready to go
Why is it, that when I see black people by the river or near a church,.... All I hear is humming and gospel in the air... like a summoning ritual for some old black church lady that is supposed to pop up or her spirit just being there
It's me😂 Just kidding...maybe not 😊 I've always got a song in my soul and sometimes I just let it hum along the wind.🥰
@@kimberlyc84 Later, I got it, it was from all the scenes of getting baptised in the river. The first that were forced in to the US were mostly actually Muslims I have learned, and with a new land, name and religion, the water and god gave life to those in need
Cool
Thanks
Great job guys! Good to see more representation out there. Keep it up!
Thank you, we're in good company 😃
Love this we have been so inspired by the lifestyle that we are starting our own channel ( free atlas adventures)
Im glad to hear it, share your channel when you're up and running.
Happy that this dropped in my feed!! I hope to do some cold weather solo camping soon. Great video!
Happy holidays! and Happy camping
I don’t know how you two got to my fed , but I’m so glad y’all did! I want to go camping and visit National Parks! The Black History is the icing on the cake! Thank you for taking us along on your adventures! ♥️♥️♥️
Cheering you along as you get ready to start your journey! Thank you for watching 🙏🏾
Super useful, just subscribed. Please keep it up! I love this shit!
Thank you for subscribing, more videos coming soon! 🙏🏾
Really useful 🙏🏾
Thanks for watching!
I agree, the image of camping definitely intimidates people. It's simple really. Have shelter, food and a sleep system, that is the basics of it. Get a tent, a sleeping bag and bring some sandwiches. That's camping too! You don't need the most expensive tent, lighting, expensive stove, etc. The trick is once you start camping, you do see the value in some of that expensive stuff, but it is not necessary. The stove I have, I found on ebay for 25 bucks with a pan I got at a garage sale. Your point about sacred moments is so true. I remember trying to get my fire started in the dark in 30 degree weather and it took about an hour. But you can't give up, you just learn from it.
Exactly. It's simple, even though it's not always easy. Also, love to hear the deals you got on your gear. Thinking we need to spend a lot of money on it can make it feel so much less accessible. Thank you for sharing your experience and watching!
Great to see young black couple enjoying life and doing fun things. Enjoy your life you two and make GREAT MEMORIES which you can share when you are older . When life nips at your heals grab your tents and each other and run to the peacefulness of the woods! We have subscribed. Keep the great videos coming 😊😊👊🏾👊🏾
Sounds like a plan! 😊 Thank you for subscribing.
I love camping! I recently turned my Toyota Rav4 into a mini RV and did a 6 week trip from Vermont down to North Carolina. I love your West Virigina video! Can't wait to make my way down there. Looking forward to following your journey ✌️🚗
Wow! That's so cool. I bet that was an amazing trip. We have only passed through Vermont, so we're looking forward to hanging out there one day. Thank you for watching!
Which mindset challenges are keeping you from starting your camping journey? Or what perspective shifts helped you when you first started camping? Let us know! Here's to more camping in 2025 🥂
It's one of my favorite camp spots
We're so glad we found it!
2nd the recommendation. These are great for a superior education power bank. The upgrade is even better for real secure vehicle car starting. And all can be recharged through solar panel
Yes these are fantastic. I was recently at a car dealership and saw that they now keep all 3 versions in stock. I may upgrade and compare them.
You Two are awesome! So glad the algorithm popped y’all up in my feed. 🙌🏽
And we're glad you're here! 😀
When you come out to WA you will love the Olympic National Park area. Make sure to look me up.
Can't wait to get out that way!
