Ha! Ha! I had to fast forward when the🐿️🐿️ appeared. My west highland white terrier was trying to get through the tv to get Cutie and Sweetie. He has such a strong prey drive to hunt furry creatures. I’ll need to watch it later when he’s fast asleep 💤 😂

Hi, Jodi! I was watching your squirrel video and feeding my squirrel too. Then another one came that looked just like my original squirrel. So I had to feed him too. I stopped feeding them after I give my squirrel her allotment. Now she’s sitting in my window waiting for me. 😂😂😂 Hugs! 🥰👍💜

Oh, Jodie, you sound just like me. At camp I have 3 different hummers that frequent my feeder. As I have my morning coffee I watch them come and go. One is a gray, one is the green head, and the other is the red head. On the other side of my porch are the ROSE OF SHARON flowers. The bumbles and honey bees frequent them. I laugh watching the bumbles because they dive head first into the flowers and come out all full of pollen. And its nice to know that my flowers will be added to make their honey, or food for their babies. So does the liquid fence stop bug infestations? My poor rose bush tries like heck to give me beautiful blossoms but some bug gets to its leaves and flower and eats. I bought an all natural spray but it hadn't helped. Well, have fun with the fur and feather babies while we can. Winter will be here before we know it. Luv ya!!!😎😊💗🐦🐝

I love your creature updates-squirrels, bees, birds, dog, cats, etc! The beautiful whitish leaves are called Dusty Miller--weird name, and one of my favorites to add a lovely contrast with bright colors!!
Ahhh thank you. Yes it’s such a pretty plant. I didn’t realize it would get so big! I should have put some in the ground and let it grow even bigger ❤️
I definitely enjoyed your Wildlife update. I used to have a squirrel that would eat the leaves from underneath my bird feeder on my back patio. The poor thing was missing one of its front paws, most of its tail and it obviously had some type of injury on the underbelly. I could never see that really well. I named him Rocky because I figured he was a fighter. It's so hard to imagine an animal fighting and surviving those types of injuries without any Veterinary care. I always made sure there were plenty of seeds on the ground underneath the feeder for him. Poor little guy struggled when he would climb up trees but he made it.
Oh my gosh poor Rocky!! It is crazy how they just manage with what they are given. Rocky was a perfect name for him 🐿️

You're my kindred spirit. I love your squirrels. I'm up to four regular visitors but can sometimes have more. They come for breakfast and run to me anytime I step out the door or sit on my patio. I always have Disney thoughts in my head of them helping me plant or weed, but we just have different goals 😁

For the cosmos ; there s a water soluble fertiilzer just for flowering plants that I use once every 2 weeks. Just put a tablespoon full in a gallon of water.

I'm new from Washington state, enjoy your declutter series, and the cute squirrels. We have our fair share of fatties who rob the suet and seed. They entertain alot during our rainy months. Blessings Linda.

Jodi I love all animals I have 5 recuse dogs and they are so sweet and i have 4 cats all recuse the 2 cats were left to die I just couldn't let that happen then when we had a winter storm last year some put a cat out and it was hurt very bad so I took him to the vet and he his doing well and so sweet and the last one it is a cannon cat and he is death put so sweet people can't belive it when they come in my house they said you can't tell you have animals. Animals I told then I wep down my house every day and I vacuum every day .thanks for caring for the little ones out side l9ve all your videos my friend ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.

I love the squirrel updates! I used to sit out on the deck at night with my laptop and some racoons decided to visit nightly. They were so neat, but i kept my distance out of fear. They were mutt and jeff. ☺️

I planted cosmos for the first time this year. The ones in our front yard are covered with flowers and the ones in the back yard don't have any, I found earwigs eating the tops off the ones out back. Going to cover with a mesh bag and see what happens. I love your squirrel videos. I'm picking up some peanuts and going to see if I can make friends with the squirrels in our yard. LOL

We are starting school and all the chaos. Got a new (used) vehicle. I killed the motor in my old van and found one identical with half the miles my other had when I bought it. So back to work for me. Enjoy your channel as always . Squirrels and all❤❤😅

For you small plants that the deer and bunny’s eat. Cover them up with a dollar tree waste basket. The metal kinda net ones. Idk how else to describe them. That’s what every gardener I know do.

Love the squirrels! I just read that a new hydrangea is coming out next year. "Flowerfull" Loads more flowers and is more resistant to pests.

EDIT the tails on cutie & sweetie are definitely different. Cutie has a bushier tail. Sweetie has a very thin tail .
Zinnias....try some copper wire wrap on the zinnias stems instead, first a thin copper wire can be bought at any hardware store or electrical supply. Don't go for the thinnest. Go at least 2 ml thick. Can buy a spool and just stick some into the ground about 1" or so. Then just wrap it in a very relaxed loop over the stem. Like wrapping "bacon" around hot dogs but with about 2" between each loop on the same side of the stem. Copper will ground out the fungi. Which will explode the cells in it and prevent it reforming.
Yes you have lots of visiting critters. Seeing all the wildlife is definitely a reminder of all GOD brings together to give us beauty and what's needed for life.

I love squirrels, but we don't have them or chipmunks in Australia, we are coming for a month to the East coast of America and I am so excited to see those cure little critters again.

ETA: now that I watched the full video, not just squirrels 😂. Jodi, yes you have access to have things in your garden tested. Find your University Extention and contact them they do it. If you can't find that Google Master Gardners in your area or Garden Clubs in your area. Someone in these places will be able to provide the University contact. You library may also be able to provide it. If was Copper Fungicide that was suggested. Hope this helps.

I thought squirrels were cute too until one of them got in my screen porch last summer and it cost me $1500 to get it put of my soffit and repair the damage!

Any cosmos I’ve grown have taken forever to bud and flower - they get very tall and I found flower more into the fall months.

I Love your squirrel friends, I have a few I feed. They’re cute to watch. My new Daughter in law and Son have one they started feeding. They built him a little picnic table and attached it to their fence. How cute is that😊

Each state has an Agricultural Extension Service. Usually through one of the state schools. Here in Indiana it is Purdue. Ive been using a Copper Fungicide from Bonide to help with Brown Rot on peach trees. Keep in mind though that the garden isnt a sterile environment. Most people lose plants after a certain point to disease or fungal issues every year. I know copper affects ants, and I spray (or try to) in the fall, winter, and spring to avoid hurting pollinators. I will do BT later in the season, but still try for dusk after pollinators are in bed.
And avoid the places you know bumbles are sleeping!
They sleep right on the zinnias 🤦♀️

@jodidunnmymessylife1847 BT is an insecticide, Copper if I understand correctly is a Fungicide that harms animals/insects through essentially heavy metal poisoning. They can't absorb what they need because of the copper exposure. I don't know if that is a thing you could avoid by diluting more or not. But definitely figure with annuals avoiding susceptible varieties is probably your best bet if it's going to drive you nuts. The look of whatever is on them is similar to something I saw on a strawberry video..... not sure if it was MI Gardener, Epic Gardening, or Jacques in the garden. They suggested a baking soda spray.... give me a minute to see if I can find the video.

Hello, Jodi. Use hydrogen peroxide and copper fungicide spray. I had the same issue with my tomato plants. They are under control. It's just too much rain. The plant will be fine if you use the right amount of spray, otherwise the fungus issue will take all of your plants really quickly.

Make sure to clean tools and gloves after cleaning up the fungal stuff.

The recipe you had used might be a good thing to kill the fungus on your flowers. I love to watch your interest in your plants.
I actually used that on my zinnias this year to try and keep the Japanese beetles off
You need to check into getting some Camilla bushes, im not sure they will grow that far north, but there are so many varieties available. I believe you would Love them
I just looked that up and they are so pretty!! Unfortunately not hardy in my zone

I have a Cosmos that grew really tall and fell over. Guess I should stake it but I haven't. I've about given up on it because like yours, it hasn't bloomed. Really disappointing since I was really looking forward to all the little flowers.

This is the TH-cam video I followed and it saved my plants. I have been using the hydrogen peroxide expired years ago from the cvs couponing. LOL. You can give it a try. Always test spray first.
