  • Now, our trek continues from Phakding to Namche Bazar. It took 8 hours walk for us to reach Namche Bazar.
    Distance and Duration
    Distance: ~10-11 kilometers (~6.8 miles)
Duration: 6-7 hours, depending on pace and breaks
Elevation Gain: ~800 meters (2,625 feet), from 2,610 meters (8,563 feet) in Phakding to 3,440 meters (11,286 feet) in Namche Bazaar.
    Trail Highlights
    Lush Valleys and River Crossings:
The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several thrilling suspension bridges. These bridges, adorned with prayer flags, provide spectacular views of rushing waters below and towering peaks above.
    Villages and Tea Houses:
Pass through charming villages like Monjo and Jorsale, where trekkers can stop for tea or snacks.
Monjo marks the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park, requiring a permit check.
    Sagarmatha National Park:
After Monjo, the trail enters the UNESCO-listed park, a biodiverse region with forests of rhododendrons, pines, and junipers. Wildlife such as Himalayan tahr and colorful pheasants can often be spotted.
    Suspension Bridges:
The iconic Hillary Suspension Bridge, just before the climb to Namche, is a major highlight. It’s the highest and longest bridge on this stretch, offering dramatic views.
    Challenging Ascent:
After crossing the Hillary Bridge, the trail steepens significantly. This long, zigzagging climb through pine forests is tough but offers the first distant views of Mount Everest, weather permitting.
