ah! an elegant solution.
I said x = [b/(a+b)]*360 and let b=1 to find a, making use of the fact that all circles are similar. A very neat question.

I did 360/phi, then take 360 - that number = golden angle.

1 + phi = phi^2 which is approx. 2.618
so when i do the division, i get 360 / phi^2 = 137.5095 with a calculator
