I've been consistent with this - Petras is good - bad fit for Iowa's O as it's not a spread O. He'll perform much better at his new gig due to the complementary O scheme.

I'll pick the QB that can walk.
Other than not being up on the offense I'd have Sullivan ahead of McNamara at this point. I hope they all have great years in growth & production. And when looking at the rushing yardage, you don't just add in Sullivan's yards, you also add in the -18 the other QBs averaged. Plus, you would have less lost downs and more first downs which would increase Time of Possession.

I’m a huge Hawk fan and gambler but we are not winning the championship this year lol. I think there’s a pretty decent shot we make the playoffs at +680 tho. I’d be shocked if anyone not named Ohio St, Georgia, Texas or Oregon lifts the trophy at the end of the year. Realistically I would put Iowa’s odds at 500/1 to win it, but spend your money however you wish 🤷♂️

True QB battle
I'm much older than you guys but I remember when Iowa was considered a development school. We sent guys that were 2or 3 star guys to the NFL. Not sure that can happen like it did back then. The culprit is NIL and the transfer portal. Now the next thing that kinda bugs me is the way we compare players. We have to know more than just a guys stats. An example is Jake Rudolph. He didn't have much success at Iowa but was much better at Michigan. Last thing, Corey always seems to want a running QB, and by comparing that stat against other schools you have to consider how many QB runs does Iowa run? It's not many and the ones that are called are sneaks that are usually under a yard. Stats don't always translate. It still comes down to little or no protection up front. QB has no time for plays to develope, so not much time to scramble.
They have got to run the QB more.That is modern college football. The QBs they've had the last year seven have had zero ability to run. Now that they have an OC that understands modern offense and QBs with some athleticism that should change.
The O-line definitely has to improve. It has been poverty level for years now.

Northwestern's quarterbacks got sacked 51 times last year. And their line has sucked terribly for last two years.
I think deacon hill averaged-5.6 per game..
