If the new sensor does not fix the problem, then the issue is the junk in the tank which does not allow the magnetic float to move. As mentioned, a new tank is then needed. Mine had that and I just soldered a small wire across the reed switch on the sensor to permanently short the sensor. Replacing the tank is a bear and not worth the effort.
