    I love Lumafusion, I started getting hooked into more editing thanks to the ease of use. I downloaded a version of DaVinci but its so complicated compared to Lumafusion however I’m sure this is due to the learning curve, all basics are the same its just called something different because of the software, however I’m happy there’s a Mac version now that I can use on my laptop, before then I was just using my ipad which was amazing in itself.

    Great review 👍🏻 After moving from iPad pro to MacBook pro, I haven’t been using a Lumafusion for a while. Recently switched to m1 Macbook and at my surprise the Lumafusion is now compatible with it. However, I find the workflow on a MacBook with a Lumafusion is not as smooth and satisfying as it used to be on the Ipad Pro. I’m missing that combo so much 😢

    Hi Rob! I started with Lumafusion and find it a lot easier than FCP. But now i changed to Final Cut because of More Professional Plugins. But the biggest Point for me is the quality. The Output of FCP together with Compressor is smaller but better looking than best quality in Lumafusion. Compressor really makes a hugh difference for me.

    Good vid, I use LumaFusion running on the MacBook Pro M1 - I've used FCP on this too but it is just too darn slow. LF workflow and features are soo much better.

      Slow compared to Lumafusion even on the M1.

    The only option I find useful in Final Cut, is Multicam Editing. Fast monitoring and switch between cameras. Otherwise LumaFusion is more friendly. And also I can start the project in iPhone, right after shooting, while traveling, and finalize it later on Macbook.

    Great review. I use both applications. LumaFusion while traveling on my iPad, then FCPX At home on my iMac. Both applications have there ups and down. But overall they are great tools to edit travel and home blogs videos.

    I knew what I know but I was stupid this week. Even as a long time Lumafusion user (thanks to all you’ve taught me) I jump in and bought FCP. I added to mTuber pack and the MKBHD plug-in pack. For a combined price of over $500. I did this because I need easy multi camera editing. FCP is good for that. BUT THATS ALL it’s good at! Building new assets, text layers and key frames will take forever. 99% of the FCP built in assets are just CHEESY. Ugggggg. Add to that I lose my built in story blocks and I’m totally regretting this purchase. So I’ll consider this money wasted and come back to Lumafusion in the morning. Lumafusion with your plug-ins is by far the BEST THING ANYONE CAN USE!!! Thank you. Final Cut is far from PRO. Dear, Lumafusion PLEASE hurry up and get your directors pack ready. I’ll buy it at ANY price.

    • @RobHK

      I know. I started doing some fcp tutorials and edits as you may have seen. But that’s close to it.
      I spend twice the amount making an effect in fpc over Lumafusion l, since i need to use a mouse 🤦
      The multicam is coming soon tho 🫣 very soon i believe.
      I hope so at least.. i have 10 devices with a lens that i could benefit from 😅

      @TransplantHelper 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RobHK yes, I watched your FCP tutorials and enjoyed them. I even took some inspiration from them to use in Lumafusion. With that’s said I’m glad we both enjoy Lumafusion better. I need your knowledge to continue to teach and inspire me. Again thank you so much. Lumafusion needs you on their payroll.

    Great review. I have both Final Cut and LumaFusion. As you say, there are pros and cons.
    - I like that LumaFusion can paste adjustments on a clip, directly replacing the existing color corrections. In final cut you have to manually delete the corrections.
    - I don’t like that in LumaFusion when I open an old edit, it does not show me the folder where the footage is. It makes managing clips from different sources hard. Maybe there is a way to do that, I am not aware of.
    I can consolidate a project edit, but it will not include the clips that are not on the timeline. If I want to expand that edit in a longer form, consolidating will not be sufficient to gather all the footage.
    I have an iPad 7 or 8 gen. The only issue is the slow transfer rate, and it does not allow external edit. I am considering an iPad mini, which is very portable. But I wonder if the screen is too small.
    It can be more fun to edit on an iPad, but the file management, and the import speed is not as good as a Mac with final cut.
    Can you import footage to an external SSD from a camera directly with an iPad?

    • @kylehuntmaui
      @kylehuntmaui 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes you can import footage from an SD card to an external SSD using just an iPad if you have a usb-c hub with an SD card reader and an available port to connect the SSD. I have done this.

    • @stefpix
      @stefpix 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kylehuntmaui Thank you! I got an iPad mini with USB-C dongle-card reader and it works great. The only issue i have is that when I open an old project, it is hard to know where is the actual media referenced on the timeline. And that consolidating only copies the media used on the timeline, not additional clips that could be used later on in an alternate edit.

    • @cedricvillani8502
      @cedricvillani8502 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stefpix there’s a funny trick to it, you make a copy then go into the project folder and rename it with FCP closed, and then goto FCP and try to open the file, it will say there is an error and ask to fix it. Say yes and then your timeline and the media is there. I haven’t done it in a while so double check, but it’s a common problem when moving projects between computers. So easy to find on TH-cam

    I’m not sure if it’s possible , but id love to see a way to save (render?) a selected section of clips to make them one…. Without having to create a new and separate timeline, edit, save (render?), and import back to original project’s timeline. If that makes sense.

    As a magnifier (e.g, zoom utility, as I am visually impaired), I have had glitches where Final Cut Pro would cause the display to fade, and even end up flickering the display as soon as I was finished using the program. Disabling the zoom utility would fix this, but it sounds like from what you were saying in this video regarding the glitch is a final cut pro, I’m just thinking that perhaps the software might just be due for a redesign? Rumor has it we might be getting Final Cut Pro on the iPad one day… And if that happens? I would hope that they’ve completely redesign the app for the desktop as well. I can tell you that using LumaFusion on my M1 MacBook Air is a far better experience, which is a shame, because I genuinely do the final cut pro.

    Hi Rob, just want to ask how can I frame my drone footage? Cause when I’m going to edit and mixed my drone footage with my cam footage that is set to 2.39:1 I don’t know if I framed my drone footage right to fit with my cam resolution. Because on my drone I cant set my resolution to 2.39:1, I think its fixed in 16:9? What can be done? Should I just cropped it? Or film it in 4k 60 then cropped the drone footage to fit on my other clip that is set to 2.39:1? Thanks! Sorry for may bad english 🤣

      Is this for Lumafusion or FCP? I had an issue in Lumafusion where if I dropped a clip with a different resolution Luma decided to change the entire project to that new clips aspect ratio. I had to go in the project settings to force it back to a 16:9
